The second Zurich presentation of Hauser & Wirth Invite(s), coinciding with the Löwenbräukunst Building’s Season Opening, showcases a solo exhibition by Swiss-French artist Romane de Watteville, on view through 1 November. Curated by Olivier Renaud-Clément in collaboration with Ciaccia Levi and featuring a text by Joel Valabrega, the exhibition fosters exchange and experimentation within Hauser & Wirth’s Zurich space. De Watteville’s figurative paintings, sketches, and photographic collages blend art history, cinema, and fashion, exploring the interplay of kitsch and classical references. Her work navigates the boundaries of public and private, reality and imagination, creating familiar yet uncanny scenes. Hauser & Wirth Invite(s) supports emerging artists and galleries, enhancing visibility within the art ecosystem. De Watteville has exhibited at venues like Independent (New York), Paris Internationale, and LISTE (Basel). Ciaccia Levi, co-founder of Paris Internationale, champions international emerging artists. Valabrega, a curator based in Porto and Milan, contributes a critical perspective to the exhibition. The exhibition runs until November 1, 2025.
