00:0013 Filipino sailors have been rescued after their Singaporean-flagged cargo vessel capsized near Scarborough Shoal early Friday morning.
00:09The vessel went down approximately 55 nautical miles northwest of the shoal.
00:14According to the Chinese Embassy in Manila, the Maritime Rescue Center in Hainan received a distress call involving 21 crew members, all of whom are Philippine nationals.
00:23The China Coast Guard reportedly dispatched two ships to the scene, while 13 crew members were pulled from the water at around 1.30 a.m.
00:32Search and rescue operations remain at work for the eight sailors, who are still missing.
