A reward has been announced to help identify the killer of Diane Sindall, who was murdered in Birkenhead in 1986. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, even decades later.

00:00A £20,000 reward is being offered to find the killer of Diane Sindel in Wirral.
00:06Nearly 40 years on, the search continues for the person responsible for the murder of 21-year-old Diane.
00:13Diane was killed in the early hours of Saturday, 2 August, in 1986,
00:19and her body was found in an alleyway off Borough Road.
00:22She had suffered extensive injuries and her cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage.
00:27At the time, police conducted a full investigation, but DNA technology was still in its early stages.
00:34In 2023, the case was reopened after new DNA evidence showed no match with the man originally convicted.
00:41Detective Superintendent Rachel Wilson said that despite decades passing,
00:46investigators believe people with knowledge of the crime may still come forward.
00:50Authorities have already eliminated 461 men from the investigation
00:55and are awaiting results from a further 43 DNA samples.
01:01Crimestoppers is now offering a reward for information given directly to the charity
01:06that leads to an arrest or a conviction.
01:09Gary Murray, North West regional manager, urged anyone with knowledge of Diane's murder
01:14to contact Crimestoppers, stressing that all calls are completely anonymous and cannot be traced.
01:20Diane's last known movements included leaving her part-time job at the Wellington pub in Bebbington,
01:25shortly before midnight and experiencing car trouble on Borough Road.
