Detectives investigating the death of 68-year-old Rose Johnston in Dovecot are renewing their appeal for information, as Crimestoppers offers a significant reward for details that could lead to an arrest.
00:00A £20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the killer of Liverpool grandmother Rose Johnson.
00:08The 68-year-old was found dead at her home on Ancroft Road where she'd suffered a blunt force head injury.
00:13Her family is still waiting for answers.
00:16Police say they've already carried out extensive inquiries.
00:19These include witness statements, house-to-house checks, CCTV reviews and detailed forensic work.
00:25But despite those efforts, they still need the public's help to complete the picture of what happened.
00:31Crimestoppers, the independent charity, is now offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information it receives exclusively that leads to the arrest of those responsible for Rose's murder.
00:42The charity says people can contact them safely and anonymously online or through their phone line, which cannot trace calls or track IP addresses.
00:51Detective Chief Inspector Catherine Walsh says investigators now know Rose was last seen alive in the early hours of Friday, 3rd October.
00:59She's appealing to anyone who saw Rose or noticed suspicious activity in or around Ancroft Road between the 3rd and 4th October to come forward.
01:08She says the person who holds crucial information may be staying silent out of fear or guilt,
01:13but stresses that sharing what they know could finally bring justice for Rose's loved ones.
01:18Gary Murray, the north-west regional manager for Crimestoppers, says the charity is providing a completely safe route for people who may feel unable to speak directly to the police.
01:28He says Rose was known as a caring and generous woman and the Hare family deserves answers.
01:34Even information that might seem minor could help shape the final stages of the investigation
01:39and anyone with details is urged to contact Crimestoppers anonymously or the police at any time.
