Detectives are trying to crack the unsolved murder of Doncaster pensioner Nora Tait, who was killed 20 years ago
Transcript
00:00I'm begging for anybody who does know anything at all to please get in touch,
00:26no matter how trivial it might seem to them.
00:30Nora, my mum, she had a lot of friends, she had a lot of family, she was a really friendly
00:50lady, spoke to everybody on the street, would do anything for anyone.
00:54It feels quite emotional to be back after all this time, it's a very emotional place for
01:17me, my mum's home and I'm here now, it's hard, it's hard to be here.
01:24My mum weren't in a place she shouldn't have been, she was just at home doing nothing, being
01:30innocent and then to something so brutal to happen.
01:34You don't expect, you don't expect something like that, you don't expect your parents to
01:38be taken in such a horrific way.
01:41For 20 years we've lived this and it's still there and it's, we just want that word, we
01:56want justice for our mum, we want some answers.
02:11I didn't have it, I haven't had it for 20 years, I would have liked to pay back my upbringing,
02:29I would have liked to give them the chance to look after my mother too, I can't pay that back.
02:36We want some answers, at the end of the day, it's 20 years, we need to know, somebody needs
02:41to be brought to justice for what's happened in some shape or form.
02:46We really need to and we would be really, really grateful for anybody who did give any information,
02:52anything they know, because we need some answers.
02:57Please get in touch with South Yorkshire Police, just get in touch with them and even if it's
03:03something that you think, oh it doesn't matter, it's nothing, oh it's a long time ago.
03:07It does matter, it does matter to us.
03:09Anything is appreciated, me and the absolute world to me, yeah.
03:16It was the murder that sticks in your mind, because it's a 69 year old woman murdered in
03:31her own home, which is not the norm.
03:34Yeah, it was a vicious attack on a lady who was going about a normal business.
03:41She went to the hospital for an appointment, she went into town,
03:45did a bit of shopping and then at one o'clock, we know, she was on a bus back to Hextort from
03:51Doncaster.
03:52She got off the bus and then we believe she went to a local takeaway, got some food and
03:58went back to her home address.
04:00She was a normal lady living her life and then unfortunately that was cut short by this
04:06violent, horrific attack.
04:10I'm driven by the fact that this murder needs detecting, so the family can seek some solace
04:20risks from the fact we know who's done it.
04:23Consider it's your mum, your grandma, a sister.
04:27At the end of the day, she lost her life in a way that she shouldn't have done and the family
04:32have had to deal with that for 20 years and I think now we need to get answers for them.
04:41Think about what you know and even though you might not realise it, you might have the information
04:48that will take us towards arresting and charging the person involved.
04:52Whatever it is, you tell us and we can research it, review it and judge whether that evidentially
05:00takes us to bringing the person involved in this to justice.
