Part 10: Several predictive / future references / easter eggs may appear in 1966 animated TV special How The Grinch Stole Christmas. These connect, apparently, to actor Jim Carrey, who played the character in the year 2000 adaptation of the 1957 Dr. Seuss children's story. Facets of his future films & characters several decades into the future may be interwoven into the story.
- Carrey later played Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic The Hedgehog movies from 2020. I showed several possible easter eggs to that game series in other videos. - The Grinch's heart (his soul) is scrutinized in the '66 Christmas animation. It starts out (as described) much smaller than average & how it changes is key to the story's conclusion. - Several links may appear in the original "Grinch" to the SEGA Dreamcast fighting video game series Soul Calibur (1998). - Grinch narrator Boris Karloff had appeared with Jack Nicholson & Dick Miller in Roger Corman's horror film The Terror in 1963. - Dick Miller played the gun store manager who (unintentionally) armed the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in James Cameron's 1984 sci-fi action film The Terminator. - The key to this possible reference is CALIBER VS CALIBUR. - A distinguishing characteristic of the fighting seen in the Soul Calibur games is that while other series give the combatants unique fighting styles (kung fu, karate etc.), here, the weapons (often bladed) of the characters define their technique. So here, it may be a reference to the famed sword of Arthurian legend: Excalibur. - CALIBER in the context of The Terminator gun store scene may relate to the diameter of a gun barrel. - When it comes to well known Hollywood movie characters appearing in (seemingly) unrelated video games: Schwarzenegger's T-800 Terminator was introduced as a playable fighter in the 2019 fighting game Mortal Kombat 11. - Another add on fighter for MK11 was The Joker of the Batman DC Comic Book universe. - I mentioned Jack Nicholson earlier in this stream of thought, he played Joker in Tim Burton's Batman in 1989. Billy Dee Williams played (a pre Two Face) Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent. Tracey Walter Of Conan The Destroyer (1984) played Bob, one of Joker's goons. - When you realize Billy Dee Williams was also Lando Calrissian in Star Wars, another standout example of a famed Hollywood film character appearing in an unrelated video game would be Darth Vader in Soul Calibur 4 (2008).
