I point out some possible future references to the Transformers franchise of movies based on the Takara Tomy / Hasbro toys present in the 1987 arcade video game Double Dragon.
- In the opening screen a garage door lifts and the heroes Billy & Jimmy move out. Behind them in the bay is a red sports car which may resemble a Pontiac Firebird TransAm.
- In the 1994 Double Dragon movie Bo Abobo also has what looks like a Pontiac emblem on his shirt.
- Progressing through the level, the next building has a billboard ad showing a Volkswagen Beetle.
- Based on the 2 cars I thought a future nod to the Transformers films may be shown.
- Actor Burt Reynolds drove the TransAm in the Smokey And The Bandit (1977) movies. A sister car based on the same chassis is the Chevrolet Camaro. Transformers robot hero Bumblebee debuted in 1984 as a VW & was introduced in the movies from 2007 as a yellow Camaro.
- James Cameron directed Arnold Schwarzenegger & Double Dragon ('94) movie villain Robert Patrick starred in T2: Terminator 2: Judgement Day in 1991.
- Cameron's advice was instrumental to Michael Bay filming 4th Transformers installment: Dark Of The Moon (2011) in 3D using the fusion digital camera system.
- Looking at the opening scene to DD Arcade again there may be some hints to this information in that the text above the garage BAY appears in 3D lettering.
- Transformers actor Mark Wahlberg co-starred with Burt Reynolds in the 1997 Paul Thomas Anderson drama Boogie Nights. The movie has a connection to Transformers in that the Stan Bush song "The Touch" is played throughout the 1986 animated film.
- Don Murphy was the producer who helped secure the rights that led to the 1994 live-action Double Dragon movie. A comic book fan, he played the Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone arcade game around 1991 and was inspired to get the project developed. Murphy later was instrumental in bringing The Transformers to the big screen via DreamWorks.

In this video I build on a previous look at an easter egg to the Double Dragon ('87) video game that exists in 1989 road trip film The Wizard. You can see it at the 19 minute 4 seconds where trio Corey (Fred Savage), Haley (Jenny Lewis) & Jimmy (Luke Edwards) are playing Double Dragon ('88 Technos Famicom / NES version shown). In-game footage from stage 3 can be seen at the area where a bridge has been collapsed in the middle.
- There are numerous links from these two items to actors who were associated with movie projects involving director James Cameron.
- Tobey Maguire, who made his movie debut in The Wizard, later played Marvel Comics hero Spider-Man in several films from 2002. Cameron invested significant effort in developing a Spider-Man project in the 1990's that was eventually abandoned.
- Actress Julia Nickson, mother/guardian of the 2 heroes in Double Dragon, had previously worked with Sylvester Stallone on Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985. James Cameron co-wrote the screenplay to this.

00:00We're talking about knowledge of the future of movies, YouTube channel, Easter Egg Psychic.
00:05There are a lot of strange and interesting Easter eggs in the original Double Dragon arcade game from 1987.
00:14Here I'll mention another one, apparently to the Transformers franchise of movies, cartoons in the 1980s.
00:24Based on the popular Hasbro and Takara Tommy toy line.
00:30So right from the opening of the game, your girlfriend is kidnapped by a group of thugs.
00:36The garage door opens and the heroes, Billy and Jimmy, move out.
00:42Behind them, in the garage, is a red sports car.
00:45I thought it may resemble a Pontiac Trans Am Firebird.
00:50In the 94 Double Dragon film, Boa Bobo wears the emblem of Pontiac on his shirt.
00:59Alright, so progressing through the first mission, there's another building.
01:02In there, a billboard ad can be seen.
01:05It reads Scoop Moto.
01:07And the car shown here is the Volkswagen Beetle.
01:11A Bobo busts through the brick wall.
01:15Based on the two cars, I drew a link to the Transformers.
01:20The Trans Am was famously driven by Burt Reynolds' character in the Smokey and the Bandit films.
01:28A sister car based on the same chassis, also produced by General Motors, is the Chevrolet Camaro.
01:36That car became the Transformer Autobot Hero Bumblebee in the Transformer movies from 2007.
01:47And a Bumblebee was originally a Volkswagen from the toy release in 1984.
01:54From this basis, I did some further research.
01:57Actor Robert Patrick played the T-1000 in director James Cameron's Terminator 2, Judgment Day, in 91.
02:06And he was the villain in the 94 Double Dragon feature.
02:11To the Transformers movie series, Cameron offered some interesting input and influence.
02:19For the 2011 sequel, Dark of the Moon, director Michael Bay reportedly conferred and decided to film it using a
02:303D process.
02:31The Fusion Digital camera system.
02:34Look at the opening image for Double Dragon one more time.
02:40Notice the signage that reads Mottin.
02:44It's in 3D.
02:45Below this, the garage door bay.
02:49And also the styling of the car.
02:52Actor Mark Wahlberg joined the cast of Transformers with Age of Extinction in 2014.
03:00He was in director Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 film Boogie Nights with Burt Reynolds.
03:07I did some videos on these subjects in the past.
03:11Boogie Nights also has a link to Transformers and is through musician Stan Bush's song, The Touch, which is played
03:21extensively in the 1986 Transformers animated movie.
03:26Another key production figure, producer Don Murphy.
03:30Murphy was a big comic book fan and after seeing the Double Dragon 3 arcade game around 1991, he sought
03:40to acquire the rights to make the film adaptation.
03:45Later, he and Tom DeSanto optioned the rights to the Transformers toy line from Hasbro and began to develop a
03:55film adaptation.
03:56This eventually found its way to DreamWorks and director Steven Spielberg, who convinced Michael Bay to direct.
04:05Murphy, also a producer, owned Bumblebee, the sixth installment in the film series in 2018.
04:13In a previous video, I mentioned this Easter Egg.
04:17You can see it in the 1989 video game Road Trip Adventure film The Wizard.
04:26This comes via a reference to the Double Dragon arcade video game.
04:32The Wizard starred Fred Savage, Luke Edwards, Jenny Lewis, Bo Bridges Christian Slater.
04:39When stepfather Sam decides to have Jimmy committed to a mental institution, he runs away from home with half-brother
04:48Corey, the man with Jenny Lewis' character, Haley, on the road.
04:53They discover Jimmy's talent at playing video games.
04:57They come up with a plan to hitchhike cross-country to try to get Jimmy into the video Armageddon game
05:06tournament.
05:06Contemporary video game titles are shown in The Wizard.
05:11Many relate to releases via the Nintendo Entertainment System home console.
05:17At 19 minutes, 4 seconds, the trio play Double Dragon.
05:22The section of the game is stage 3.
05:26Part of this level involves a bridge that has collapsed in the middle.
05:31Jenny Lewis' character is playing.
05:33She gets knocked off the bridge into the river.
05:37Julia Nixon is in Double Dragon and appeared in Rambo First Blood Part II, a war action film in 1985
05:46starring Sylvester Stallone.
05:48This screenplay, co-written by James Cameron, Richard Crenna, Charles Napier, and Martin Cove, also in this cast.
05:57My YouTube channel is Easter Egg Psychic.
05:59There I go back and look at movies and television from the past.
06:03I analyze these for possible references to future media.
06:06These may appear in the form of anecdotes, idioms, anagrams.
06:10Hidden in the subtext of the work in question, I also use an unconventional method where I look at the
06:16likenesses of the actors.
06:19What I found is you can take the likenesses, match these up to some of the anecdotal items, and show
06:25past, present, and future information about actors and other personalities
06:31that may resemble the personalities in the movie or television episode that you're watching.
06:38My email contact is EasterEggGuy, that's G-U-Y, at Yahoo.com
06:45Thanks for watching.
