00:00We had some news trickle in last night out of Atlanta that they're going to be hiring
00:04Kevin Stefanski, a multiple-time actual head coach of the year award winner.
00:10What have you heard around this move out of Atlanta?
00:13Yes, so Kevin, I would say this kind of came to fruition late in the week.
00:18It seemed, I'm going to say, once a night, Thursday morning, I got a call from somebody
00:23in coaching who wants to join Stefanski's staff and said everything that he had heard
00:26was pretty positive about him getting the job and Stefanski had to get through the second
00:30interview, which went great.
00:32And this is kind of part of why they're hiring him.
00:35He went through a lot of challenges with the quarterback position.
00:37Everybody knows about Deshaun Watson, Shredor Sanders, others over his tenure of the six
00:42years that he was with the Browns.
00:44And the first four years, I mean, two head coach of the year, I mean, two coach of the
00:49year awards from Associated Press.
00:51That's impressive, Kevin.
00:52And if you look at what it's like to try to win in Cleveland, I mean, good luck to even
00:57having a winning record.
00:58It's hard to do that.
00:59And Stefanski had that at least twice during his first four years.
01:02Now, the last two years, the quarterback position completely cratered.
01:07As I let you guys know, a week, week and a half ago, when I was told he didn't have the
01:11support that he once had in their building.
01:14And that's why Jimmy Haslam, the owner, moved on from Kevin.
01:17But Stefanski will go on to Atlanta, where, you know what?
01:20They've got a lot of talent.
01:22The problem is the quarterback position.
01:24They don't know exactly what Michael Penix would be ready from yet another ACL injury.
01:28Ironically, it could be Kirk Cousins, who's under contract, by the way.
01:33It could be Kirk Cousins, who's Stefanski coached in Minnesota.
01:35It's just kind of funny how things work out.
