00:00How about a little college football championship action?
00:02Monday Night Football, Miami is going to take on Indiana for the national championship game.
00:08Indiana is the favorite, but what happens, Joe, if I would have told you last February
00:12you could have invested in Indiana going at a 1% chance,
00:17who now sits today at 75% chance to win the college football championship?
00:23How about that investment?
00:24Yeah, we like to call this, though, the public darling premium that you're paying right now, Donnie,
00:32if you didn't get in a year ago.
00:35I mean, Indiana at 75 cents on this contract is a massive favorite for a college title game,
00:43which, historically, very volatile, Donnie, and we know this.
00:48And the market has just fallen in love with Indiana, the Cinderella story.
00:53And when the public falls in love, the price gets inflated.
00:57And Miami at 25 to 27 cents, I think, is the value buy.
01:03You're getting a power four champion caliber roster at a nearly four to one odds in a two-horse race.
01:10And I will take those odds anytime, Donnie.
01:13You know what I like, too, about this in the marketplace?
01:15Sure, you can invest, let's just say, in Indiana winning a championship,
01:18and you take the 75% chance, or Miami as the underdog at 27 cents, which is what they're trading at.
01:25And if you buy the Miami Hurricanes to win the championship, $100 investment is going to pay back $371.
01:30But also, Joe, you can invest in spreads and also totals here in the predictive marketplace.
01:35If you say, all right, well, I do think Indiana wins this game, and they do cover the point spread,
01:40$0.52 chance, $100 pays back $193 there.
01:44But also, you could take Miami with the points as well.
01:47A lot of different ways to look.
01:48But if you're looking way back, even if we take, Joe, and slide back this little graph that we have,
01:54Indiana, as much as in October, was still trading at only 8% to win a championship.
01:59So it wasn't one of those we expected on opening day Indiana to get there.
02:03We knew they had a good football team, but boy, the public has really bought in
02:07once we got to the college football playoff.
02:10And it's priced accordingly, Donnie.
02:12I mean, here is the premium.
02:14That's what you're getting.
02:15And we know in these spots, I mean, you know, college football, there's a lot of variance here.
02:22And this is a very volatile market.
02:25So getting nearly 4-1, Donnie, to me, is absolutely worth the investment on that contract.
