00:00standing on 17 i think we were tied for the lead um and then i had a putt on 17 it was like a 20
00:0720 25 footer and i felt like man i need to make it you know i need to because they still had 50
00:12to play they still had an easy pin on 16 so i felt like they're probably going to make one or
00:17two buddies coming in and um i think i was at 10 at the time and i think that wasn't going to make
00:22it um so i charged it like 10 feet past three putted and then kind of the air went out of me
00:28do you do you regret it on that moment to to try to make that putt feeling like you had to make it
00:34and maybe just not knowing you know what rory and bryson or whoever behind you was going to do
00:40uh would you have changed your approach at all looking back in that moment perhaps perhaps um
00:46but i also like if i make mistakes i want them to be aggressive i want it to be okay i went for i
00:55didn't pull it off what i hate is man i wasn't sure so i just kind of tried to lag it and i
01:01left it short and then i three putt it so i yes and no like maybe i should have been a little bit
01:07more patient in the way that i approached it but i still like the aggressive execution i still like
01:11that because i mean maybe i could have made it you know and then all of a sudden it's a different
01:17story but because obviously at augusta we leaderboards are the only things that we know
01:23right so we have no clue what's going on obviously we could hear some of the things um anyways i play
01:3016 i make par i tee off on 17 and as i'm walking up 17 15's coming back down to the right of it
01:37mm-hmm and and that's when i see roy hit that shot so he's up on the hill on 15 wow and he hits the
01:45eight seven or whatever he hits and i could see i mean it's stiff like from where i am i'm like he's
01:50making eagle right did you just laugh and how loud was it it was crazy yeah but people were going nuts
01:55um so like in between 15 and seven no sorry 15 and 17 there's people along the fairways and
02:03they're just going absolutely nuts right um and i think that probably led to me
02:08hitting it to 20 feet and then just feeling like i didn't know what yeah yeah wow so now when you
02:16said that i do remember that actually um seeing that shot from walking down 17 and he was coming
02:22down 50. guy he was just so reliant on those leaderboards and then i if um memory serves me
02:27correct he hit in the fairway bunker again you try to pull off the shot to hit it up on the green
02:31catches the lip uh and of course from there uh the story goes is uh you know you went out
02:38aggressively and so when you've had two times at augustan national where you feel like you've
02:44experienced the the feels and the nerves of what it what it takes to potentially win at augustan
02:50national is it helpful for you not only there but also the rest of the year to get that juice and
02:56that uncomfortable feeling uh to where that you're in that situation at another golf tournament that
03:02you know what that feels like to be able uh to close out tournaments uh yeah i think so i've always
03:08felt like that's the fun part about golf that's the fun part about practicing and playing and preparing
03:16that's like that's what you want that's you know um that's all i want to do and um sometimes you pull
03:23it off and sometimes you win and sometimes you don't but um i think as long as you can keep putting
03:29yourself in those situations that's what i love about the game so yeah obviously augustus is such
03:36a special place and it feels like there's a little bit more to it um with all the stories and the golf
03:41course and you know the first major of the year and um growing up in sweden that was augustus is always
03:47really cool because it's right around the corner where the weather starts being nice and people are
03:52starting to you know the golf season's like officially starts at augusta so i always remember
03:57that like watching it when i was a kid um and uh so yeah it's it's a cool place
