00:00I am so sorry to patients who are on trolleys in corridors, because when I came into this office
00:0818 months ago, the NHS was using language like temporary escalation spaces to normalise something
00:15that should never be normal or considered acceptable, because corridor care is never
00:21dignified care. That's why I've committed to eradicate it over the course of this Parliament.
00:27We are seeing real improvements in urgent and emergency care. On New Year's Day, for example,
00:33we had the highest number of call-outs to 999 in the NHS's history, but ambulances arrived 15 minutes
00:40faster. So we're beginning to see things moving in the right direction, but as those stories,
00:46because it's not just about the pictures or the stats, it's the experiences of patients show
00:52for all the things I'm proud of in the NHS, this is no time for me to rest on my laurels. I've got
00:57a lot more to do, and I'm determined to do it.
