00:00It is serious that the trust did not report the suspected meningitis case as quickly as they were supposed to.
00:08That patient case presented on the Wednesday evening.
00:12By mid-morning on the Thursday, staff suspected meningitis.
00:16At that point, they had 24 hours to notify the UK Health Security Agency.
00:22They took 26.
00:23Now, I can reassure people that it doesn't appear to have had a material impact on our ability to contain
00:30the outbreak, but it is serious.
00:32And even more disappointingly, it's a shame because what we've seen from the NHS, in the trust, from the universities,
00:42the schools, the community in and around Canterbury and across Kent,
00:46has been a really otherwise impressive response in terms of the numbers of vaccinations, antibiotics issued, people coming forward, working
00:55with us.
00:56There's been a good response overall.
