00:00Today we're setting out our league tables of NHS performance across the country to make sure the
00:06public are better informed, able to make better and informed choices, and also, bluntly, to hold
00:12me to account and to hold the government to account to make sure that we're improving services
00:16wherever people live in the country. What these tables will show is there's quite a wide variation.
00:22You know, if you're at Northumbria, well you're getting really great service there. They reform
00:28their ways of working, they've got a brilliant setup in terms of accident and emergency, and that's
00:33making a real impact. If you're further down the league table, then the service and the quality of
00:38the service is not as good, and we should be honest about that, and that's the approach I'm taking to
00:43drive up standards right across the NHS.
