00:00The noticeable thing was the wonderful line-up of cattle, the consistency of the weights
00:04given the season that they've had, but more so the consistency and the pricing.
00:09Most cattle selling between $4.80 and $5.10 for most.
00:13There obviously were some cattle that attracted a little bit more than that, some of the Euro
00:17cattle, but overall a wonderful, wonderful consistent result which would see both buyer
00:23and seller, I think, particularly happy.
00:26A lot of cattle stayed locally, but there was cattle that went to Tasmania, there was
00:29cattle that went into the north, into New South.
00:32South Australia was probably absent today, a few cattle went back to Gippsland.
00:36Good weight in the cattle again this year for the season that they struggled through for
00:39the first six months.
00:41Weights were up probably about 14 or 15 kilo on last year, so plenty of steers, 320 to
00:46380 kilo in both the Herefords and the Euros.
00:51Some of the highlights of the day, I guess, the Wheeler calves leading off the Herefords
00:56sale, lower 416 kilo, made 506, stayed in the EU system which was good, that was good.
01:03A lot of those top end calves that were EU accredited in the Herefords section were making
01:09sort of that high 470s up to $5.00.
01:13So pretty pleasing, once you got lighter, that was sort of that high 460s up to 480s, maybe
01:19490s.
01:19Into the Euro section, really, really, really, really good sale today.
01:24Charolais steer sold exceptionally well, out to $5.40 for a pen that weighed 330 kilo, but
01:33most of your sort of Charolais steers sort of 485 to 510 or 15, some out to 530.
01:40We had that magnificent run of limos and steers again from the Neeson family, from Paddy and
01:45Anne and Brother Rod, again sold extremely well.
01:48Tops of those steers this year were 437 kilo or 32 kilo, made $5.32.
01:55Hell of a sale, $2,300 odd.
01:58The rest of those limos steers all trading from 510 up to 532.
02:03And good weight from sort of 280 or 90 up to 380 kilo, so yeah, really, really pleasing
02:08sale there.
