00:00When you're in ownership or you're royalty in a franchise, you just get positions made for you.
00:04Like Matt Ryan, I'm sure he knows a ton about football.
00:07He's now the president of football operations, almost similar to what we saw for the Denver Broncos,
00:11which, by the way, worked out when you did have a superstar quarterback like John Elway
00:15and a legendary guy in the franchise won a couple Super Bowls.
00:18But as you saw over the years, like, what is your actual job?
00:20And it turned out it was, you know, hanging out with your friends in the organization,
00:24grabbing beers in the afternoon, charging steaks to the organization,
00:27interviewing a couple guys and just having fun.
00:29Matt Ryan, president of football operations, Atlanta has to be the greatest job in the history of sports.
00:34You're not even the general manager.
00:36You're probably going to be paid a couple million dollars to sit next to Arthur Blank and go,
00:39yeah, I like that quarterback.
00:40Okay, there's your job for the week.
00:42Done and done and done.
00:45It's we've always known the NFL to be a copycat league.
00:50It's what they do.
00:51Right.
00:52And we already knew.
00:53Right.
00:54We had, well, Tom Brady with the Raiders.
00:57Then we learned that Troy Aikman leaving the booth or in the booth, as well as consulting with the Miami Dolphins.
01:05And now you have Matt Ryan, who will be leaving television to go to the front office.
01:10All of this is all a byproduct because Brady got involved.
01:16Now you got Aikman.
01:17Now you got Ryan.
01:18But all of this isn't the first time we've seen this, Donnie.
01:21Remember John Elway?
01:22He was like one of the first guys that was, he went from quarterback to, and he was very good at it.
01:29So it's like the owners here are saying, not really happy with the general manager pool of talent that we have to choose from.
01:40So they're going to go a proven way.
01:43I mean, Elway killed it in the front office of Denver.
01:46And it looks like a lot of these owners are hoping former great quarterbacks can do the same for them.
