01:56Couldn't stop it!
01:56There goes the ring.
01:58It fell 120 feet off a bridge.
02:02I was in utter shock.
02:03Trevor is a klutz.
02:04Can they ever find it?
02:07Now, Inside Edition with Eva Pilgrim.
02:11Hello and thanks for joining us.
02:12Drama today as Nick Reiner, who's accused of brutally murdering his famous father, Rob Reiner, and his mother faced a judge.
02:19Just moments before the arraignment started, his high-profile attorney abruptly withdrawing from the case, replaced by a public defender.
02:28Jim Murray is at the courthouse.
02:31A major shakeup in the Nick Reiner murder case.
02:34His high-profile lawyer, Alan Jackson, is withdrawing from the case.
02:38Your Honor, at this time, I, on behalf of Martin Jackson and Quinn, and with Mr. Reiner's understanding and consent, would ask to withdraw his counsel's record.
02:49The move comes as Reiner faced a new court hearing today.
02:52He's accused of murdering his parents, famed director Rob Reiner and wife Michelle.
02:57Nick Reiner looked very different from his last court appearance.
03:00He seemed calm as he spoke with his attorneys.
03:02He was no longer wearing a suicide vest, and several times he looked directly at the gallery and appeared to smirk or smile.
03:09Jackson is one of America's most famous defense lawyers.
03:12His most recent victory was winning the acquittal of Karen Reed in connection with her boyfriend's death.
03:18Nick Reiner will now be represented by a public defender.
03:22Hot bench judge Yodi Tualde is at the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.
03:26What is the significance of going from a high-powered attorney to a public defender?
03:30Resources. Not to say that the public defender's office is incapable of taking on this case, but we all know that they're overworked and underpaid.
03:37Jackson had these final words in defense of Nick Reiner.
03:41Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder.
03:46Print that. Print that.
03:50Today, the Reiner family released a statement saying they have the utmost trust in the legal process.
03:55Now, the dramatic 911 call involving the young dentist and his wife recently found murdered in their townhouse.
04:03Months before they were found dead, a woman called for help from inside that home.
04:09Fighting back tears, she says she and her, quote, man, got into it.
04:13Ann McCogliano with what the call reveals.
04:16The slaying of a popular dentist and his wife took a shocking twist today.
04:23Nine months before Spencer Tepe and his wife Monique were murdered, a woman, believed to be Monique, called 911 from their home, then hung up.
04:33The 911 dispatcher called right back.
04:36It's 911. We just got a hang-up call. Is everything okay?
04:39Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm okay.
04:40It sounds like you're crying.
04:42I'm okay. I'm just emotional.
04:44Well, how'd you call 911 in the first place?
04:46Because me and my meeting got included, but I'm okay. I promise.
04:50You guys were just arguing. Nobody hit each other?
04:52Mm-hmm. Yes.
04:54Okay.
04:54Was that caller Monique? Here's her voice from her wedding video.
04:58I will love you forever, and I'm so lucky to be Mrs. Tepe.
05:02And here's the 911 caller.
05:05Because me and my meeting got included, but I'm okay. I promise.
05:09They sure sound the same.
05:11Now the call is raising questions about the couple's outwardly idyllic relationship and what might have led to the murders.
05:19News Nation's Ashley Banfield is following the case.
05:22Could there be any link between this 911 call and the murder?
05:26Could this fight have been over another person?
05:29Could it have been over the murderer?
05:30The problem is we don't know what it was that led her or the person who called to dial 911 in distress.
05:39Spencer and Monique were found shot dead inside their $700,000 townhouse last week.
05:45Columbus, Ohio cops ruled out murder-suicide.
05:49Cops have released this surveillance video of a person of interest walking behind their home between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
05:56about the time the murders were committed.
05:59The one thing that is unusual is that he's moving very slowly.
06:03And if someone just shot two people and they're trying to make a getaway, this is an unusual way to do it.
06:08Columbus police have confirmed that no weapons were found inside the home.
06:13As flu numbers continue to spike across the country, there's one guy who knows all too well what it's like to come down with this year's superbug.
06:21He's been sick for, get this, two whole months under the weather for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and he's still not better.
06:31Les Trent has the details.
06:33He has a supersized case of the super flu.
06:37It's been a rough winter season.
06:39Matt Lyons says he's been sick for almost two months and there's no end in sight.
06:44I've had a couple windows where I feel okay and then another wave of sickness comes on.
06:50The entire nation is in the grip of the worst flu season in 25 years.
06:55My husband, my daughter, but colleagues, friends, I don't remember a time where everybody you ask, somebody has the flu right now.
07:02I know a lot of people who have been sick a lot.
07:0411 million cases, 120,000 hospitalizations, 5,000 deaths.
07:12I don't wish this on nobody.
07:13I've never been this sick, ever.
07:16The worst part about it was every time we would think we were getting better, someone would get worse.
07:21And doctors are reporting that some patients are experiencing symptoms that are a little weird.
07:27Dr. Frederick Davis is an emergency room physician at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
07:33The particular ones that we've seen a lot is nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
07:36So things you don't see with flu as much.
07:39We're also seeing patients that come in with a lot of different body aches, chills, joint pains that we typically see in flu.
07:46But a lot of them feel and are sicker because they can't eat and drink as much.
07:50Doctors say the flu vaccine can help, but many Americans are saying no to the vaccine.
07:55This year, just 42% of adults and kids have been vaccinated.
08:00Part of a national trend of vaccine skepticism and hesitancy.
08:06We've seen years and years of studies, decades of studies that have shown it actually does prevent the really bad sickness.
08:14Meantime, Real Housewives star Bethany Frankel says she has come down with a serious skin infection,
08:19and she thinks she caught it from bed sheets at a ritzy hotel in St. Barts.
08:25So how clean are your hotel sheets?
08:28Stephen Fabian reports.
08:30I went to St. Barts and got a bacterial infection.
08:35Reality TV star Bethany Frankel says she picked up a nasty rash while ringing in the New Year at a hotel in St. Barts,
08:42one of the Caribbean's swankiest islands where billionaires come to play.
08:46I'll show you for real, like, this is it.
08:50Don't ever break out.
08:51Mess.
08:51She says she and her daughter, Brynn Hoppe, contracted the infection after sleeping on dirty sheets at the hotel.
08:58People always talk about how could you take a bath in a hotel room.
09:01How could you sleep on the sheets?
09:04Disgusting.
09:05Frankel may be on to something.
09:07In 2016, Inside Edition investigated just how often some hotels in Manhattan cleaned the sheets and towels.
09:14We booked ourselves into nine hotel rooms, and each time we sprayed this harmless, washable fluorescent paint onto the bed sheet using this stencil.
09:25At another hotel, we left the same invisible stencil on the sheets.
09:29Oh, wow, there it is.
09:30I slept here, nice and big.
09:32The next day, we checked into the same room, but under a different name.
09:36Let's take a look.
09:37These should be clean sheets.
09:39Let's see.
09:39Disgusting.
09:42These sheets are dirty.
09:44Look at this.
09:44Four years later, we tried it again.
09:46It's time to spray away.
09:47This time at a different hotel.
09:49We sprayed the Inside Edition logo on the bed sheets, a pillowcase, and a bath towel with the same harmless, invisible paint.
09:57And once again, the next day, we booked the same room under a different name.
10:01Wouldn't you know it?
10:02We were told a manager came up and personally inspected this room, so let's see if the sheets were actually changed here.
10:11Oh, boy, there it is.
10:12There's the Inside Edition logo.
10:15Yikes.
10:15Today, we showed Bethany Frankel's video to dermatologist Dr. Doris Day.
10:19One of the easiest and most important things you could do if you're worried about an infection from sheets and pillowcases is pack your own pillowcase.
10:27And if you're going away for more than a week, take two pillowcases so you can swap it out in the middle.
10:32Bathroom towels, sheets, all of it, they hold bacteria.
10:35It's vile.
10:36Turns out she may be right.
10:39It's now been a full year since the worst fires in L.A. history.
10:44The rebuilding process is excruciatingly slow.
10:47We visited the neighborhoods today, and it's clear they still have a long way to go.
10:53It's Wasteland USA.
10:56On the one-year anniversary of the devastating L.A. fires, hardly any homes have been rebuilt.
11:02It's empty lot after empty lot for miles.
11:06In Altadena, desperate homeowners are now turning to alternative living in the form of RVs.
11:12Here's Jim Murray.
11:13More than 100 Altadena residents who lost everything banded together, calling themselves the RV homesteaders.
11:20They're living on their properties in RVs until they're able to rebuild and move back in.
11:25Okay, so this is the living room area.
11:2769-year-old nurse Sheila Kretzal is one of many living in a cramped RV.
11:33This is my kitchen, so the kitchen's very small but functional.
11:36Directly across is her tiny dining room and living room.
11:40This economically made more sense for you?
11:43Absolutely, yeah.
11:44She's finding comfort living right on her property where her home is being rebuilt.
11:50Ah, you hear that sound?
11:52That's your house?
11:54Progress, yeah.
11:55The view from the window?
11:57Her neighbor's RV.
11:58Among the exceptions in fire-ravaged Los Angeles is this man.
12:03He's one of just a dozen homeowners who's already rebuilt after his home was burned to the ground.
12:10Come on in, please.
12:11John Dyson says he rebuilt in just six months.
12:15How did you do that?
12:16Ah, we worked very hard.
12:18It became my second job.
12:19And I had a builder who was as committed to getting here as I was.
12:22We love it.
12:23This is home.
12:24He says everything is now fire-resistant.
12:27The siding is concrete.
12:29The roof is hardened.
12:31The windows are fire-resistant.
12:33That blue is all concrete?
12:34That is concrete.
12:35Over in the Pacific Palisades, burnt-out lots are still sitting empty.
12:39Top Gun Maverick co-star Miles Teller's $7.5 million property was reduced to rubble and still is.
12:47Actor Adam Brody of Nobody Wants This and his wife, Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl,
12:53are also still waiting for their $6.5 million enclave to be restored.
13:01A sky bridge at a popular ski resort seemed like the perfect place to pop the question.
13:06But the guy dropped the ring and down it fell.
13:10Allison Hall has more on the desperate search.
13:13A guy poses for a photo with his girlfriend.
13:16Hey.
13:17Then he gets down on bended knee and pops the question.
13:23She gleefully nods her head, yes.
13:26But as her fiancé pulls out the diamond sparkler to put it on her finger, disaster.
13:32Can you drop it?
13:34See it!
13:35The reaction on his face says it all.
13:38I was just in complete shock.
13:40Trevor Van Camp had been planning on proposing to his girlfriend Danielle for a month and a half.
13:46He knew the lightest sky bridge at Boyne Mountain Ski Resort in Michigan was the picture-perfect spot.
13:52I didn't even get to see the ring before it fell.
13:54I was in utter shock, but it is a Trevor thing to do.
13:59Trevor is a klutz.
14:01You know, he was a long way down.
14:04You can say that again.
14:05It's a 120-foot drop.
14:08We went and searched for about two, two and a half hours after I dropped it.
14:12I'm like, we are never, ever going to find this thing.
14:14That's where this guy comes in.
14:16Patrick Harper, the midnight snow-making supervisor.
14:19He heard about the ring drop, so he grabbed his trusty metal detector.
14:24And at 4.30 a.m., hit pay dirt.
14:27I say a round of applause from you, Pepper.
14:29Yeah, no doubt about it.
14:31Above and beyond the call of duty.
14:33And that worker should absolutely be invited to their wedding.
14:35You found a needle in a haystack, a diamond ring in a mountain of snow.
14:42I was kind of stunned a little bit.
14:45I sat there for a little bit and just kind of looked around and looked back at the ring.
14:49It was an unreal moment.
14:50The following morning, Danielle finally got to put on her engagement ring.
14:55I was ecstatic.
14:57It was as perfect as when Trevor picked it up.
15:01Did I drop it?
15:02The couple plans on tying the knot at the same ski resort where they almost lost the ring.
15:10Next, stranger than fiction.
15:13Famed mystery writer Harlan Coben turns to true crime.
15:17I had written this as a novel.
15:18You would have taken the novel and thrown it at me.
15:20Plus, here comes the bride.
15:23Oh, she can't move in her dress.
15:27Inside Edition with Eva Pilgrim.
15:29You'll be right back.
15:33Did you say 12 o'clock?
15:35Okay.
15:36See you tomorrow at 12.
15:37I can't hear clearly on the phone anymore.
15:40Let me show you something that will change your life.

17:02CBS Tonight, Hollywood Squares is back.
17:06This is big.
17:07With a new season of Tic Tac, Touch Your Toe.
17:09Careful, Loret.
17:10Wow.
17:11Drew and her crew kick back.
17:12Of course.
17:13And show us the money.
17:15Oh!
17:16Yeah, baby.
17:17Stars look loose.
17:18I got drunk yesterday.
17:20With Jane Fonda.
17:20And let the fun fly.
17:22Double your pleasure, double your fun.
17:23Is the slogan for what?
17:24Breast implants?
17:26That's all I want to watch!
17:28The new season of Hollywood Squares premieres CBS Tonight and streaming on Paramount+.
17:33He's one of the nation's most popular mystery crime writers.
17:37Now, he's delivering a plot twist in his own career.
17:41He spoke with Les Trent.
17:43Harlan Coben is one of the world's most popular mystery writers, selling more than 90 million copies of his novels.
17:50He's known for always coming up with a twist that fans don't see coming.
17:55Now, he's turning his attention to true crime with a new series, Harlan Coben's Final Twist, premiering tonight on CBS.
18:05In all our stories, the same question.
18:07What made the killer cross that line?
18:10Is it true that life is stranger than fiction?
18:13There's no question that truth is stranger than fiction.
18:16If I had written these stories, especially this first episode, if I had written this as a novel,
18:22you would have taken the novel and thrown it at me and said, oh, come on.
18:25The first episode is about the execution-style killings of Billy Payne and Billy Jean Hayworth, parents from Tennessee.
18:33The killer spared their seven-month-old baby boy, who was found in the arms of his dead mother.
18:39The mind-bending double homicide of two people named Billy.
18:44You'll think you have the answer once, you'll think you'll have the answer twice, maybe even three times.
18:49But when you finally see what really happened, what really caused this tragedy, your jaw is going to drop.
18:56Harlan Coben's Final Twist premieres tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern time on CBS.
19:02Still to come, here comes the bride.
19:05She can't move in her dress.

22:02The bride's dress was so tight she couldn't bend her legs.
22:07So to get her to the church, her wedding party in Connecticut had to pick her up and lay her down straight across the back seat of an SUV.
22:16Let's just hope she was able to walk down the aisle.
22:19And speaking of weddings, one bride-to-be decided to head to the doctor's office before her big day.
22:26This bride-to-be is getting a tune-up just in time for her big wedding.
22:31When you look in the mirror, what do you wish was better?
22:33Okay, well, I'm 50, so I wish that I...
22:35You look beautiful.
22:36Oh, thank you.
22:37So I wish that I looked younger.
22:40If she looks familiar, it's because back in 2009, Rachel Yucatel was better known as Tiger Woods' so-called mistress number one.
22:49The woman at the center of the scandal that almost torpedoed the golf great's career.
22:54We're going to do something that's going to make you look like you, but the best version of you.

23:09He also injects Botox.
23:11It hurts a little.
23:12In addition to a face refresh, there's one more thing Rachel wants.
23:16I have a skinny white butt.
23:18It's flat, and I feel like there's got to be something I can do.
23:23What I can achieve in one hour with you here is going to do more for you than 20 years of doing squats at the gym.
23:29Dr. Dorfman injects filler to create more volume.
23:33It's so painless, Rachel munches on chips during the procedure.
23:37Time for the wedding festivities.
23:39Chill from the sun.
23:40First, the rehearsal dinner in Palm Beach, where she shows off her new shape and refreshed face to her guests.
23:48Then, it's time for the wedding.
23:51Her lucky groom is businessman Dan Donovan.
23:54Rachel is about to fly high.
23:56That first dance, a recreation of the famous move from Dirty Dancing.
24:08Nails it.

24:24Made me feel welcome.
24:27We're a successful firm.
24:28You know, Edgar's been an icon all of his life.
24:30And we're successful, but despite our success, we're at that right size of a company.
24:34It's almost like a second family.
24:35We know everybody.
24:36We're kind of intertwined.
24:37To me, I've always been a believer.
24:39No company is perfect.
24:41But, you know, I can come in here and it just feels just as comfortable as walking into my own living room.
24:44It is time for a new year and time for a new year.
24:50And here at WayFruit Farm, we have the fresh local food that's going to help you get there.
24:54Instead of getting the deep, highly processed stuff like this, I don't even know what that is, but that's what you're getting most places.
24:59That's not egg.
25:00Egg is a fresh egg actually fried up with our local hogsville or bacon.
25:04And so that's what we're serving here at WayFruit Farm.
25:07But we still even have our own apples from this last fall.
25:10We have local lettuce that we're selling.
25:13We have amazing sandwiches in the back.
25:15So we look forward to seeing you here at WayFruit Farm.

26:28Even on an antidepressant, I was masking my depression.
26:33I felt I was missing out on the moments around me.
26:36So, my doctor prescribed Rexulte.
26:38When added to an antidepressant, Rexulte was proven to significantly reduce depression symptoms more than an antidepressant alone.
26:45She said Rexulte could provide a boost.
26:47For me, less depression meant enjoying the little things.
26:51Elderly people with dementia-related psychosis have increased risk of death or stroke.
26:55Antidepressants may increase suicidal thoughts and actions and worsen depression in children and young adults.
26:59Call your health care provider right away to report new or sudden changes in mood, behavior, thoughts, or feelings, or as you develop suicidal thoughts or actions.
27:07Report fever, stiff muscles, and confusion, which can be life-threatening, or uncontrolled muscle movements, which may be permanent.
27:13High blood sugar can lead to coma or death.
