00:00Tackling child poverty has always been a central driving force of this Labour
00:04government and the measures we've already taken around expanding free
00:07school meals, free breakfast clubs, expanding childcare are all designed to
00:11support families, to back working families and to lift children out of
00:14poverty but alongside that today I'm really proud that we're bringing forward
00:18the legislation that will lift the two-child limit that will lift half a
00:22million children out of poverty so today is a really big and important day for
00:25families it will make a huge difference in bringing down child poverty but what
00:29we see from reforming the Tories however is that they're opposed to this and they
00:33want to plunge all of those children and those families back into poverty that
00:37would be the wrong choice and we're backing families we know that life is
00:40still a struggle for too many people and the cost of living challenges are real
00:43and the action we're taking today will make a huge difference to millions of
00:47families across the country
