02:42Cadic Brand Realty. India today accessed a show cause notice issued by the Goa Coastal Zone
02:53Management Authority to Carrick Bend Realty LLP. According to the notice, the Goa Coastal Zone
03:00Management Authority had flagged off illegal constructions after a site inspection conducted on June 13th,
03:082024. Demolition orders were issued more than a year later on October 7th, 2025. But Carrick Bend Realty claimed
03:19they were not aware of these orders and did not get a chance to present their side. Following this,
03:27the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority set aside the demolition order and issued the latest show cause notice
03:35on December 26th. Carrick Bend Realty has been given time till January 8th to give a reply.
03:44Why did the GCZMA not take care to have the notice served properly in order to conclude the proceedings?
03:52What action are the authorities taking against those who are responsible for it? You can't keep silent.
03:57Until the hearing is concluded, the proper course of the matter should have been that operations in this establishment should have been directed to be stopped.
04:12The deputy collector under whose jurisdiction falls, Parnam Taluka, where the club is located, also claims the club is illegal.

07:38Ranjit Bindra, the founder and CEO of Bastion in a statement to India Today, denied the charges
07:45of illegal construction.
07:47Bindra claimed the work has been done as per Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority and other
07:52clearances.
07:53He added that the project has all fire and pollution treatment norms in place.
07:59And it has been inspected by all relevant departments.
08:04Bindra claimed the jetty has valid permission from the captain of ports department, Goa.
08:10He also claimed the land wasn't mangrove zone or residential zone.
08:15They had initially constructed some structures in respect of which a complaint was filed on
08:213rd of February 2023.
08:23Post that, they demolished the structures.
08:26Simultaneously, they had applied for a permission from the GCZM, which was granted on 15 January 2024.
08:33This begs the question that are these bigger clubs getting a VIP treatment?
08:39Shilpa Shetty's club, Bastion Rivera in Goa had been flagged by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority
08:48for illegal constructions and coastal zone violations.
08:53There was also a demolition order issued.
08:56But few days back, the GCZM recalled their own order
09:01and have now issued a show cause notice for a date in January.
