00:00Good evening, you're watching India First. I'm Gaurav Savant. I want to get you the big story that's coming in
00:05from Mumbai.
00:06And that's the questioning of the two men who tried to enter the premises where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was
00:13to address the fintech meet at BKC at the Bandra Khurla complex in Mumbai.
00:20Now, the two men taken into custody, one of them was using a fake PMO, Prime Minister's Office Identity Card,
00:28to gain access to the Jio World Plaza.
00:31A firearm and multiple life cartridges were also recovered from his aide, who he claimed was a personal security officer.
00:40Let me get you more details. Police say 28-year-old Rohan Parekh entered the venue when the preparations for
00:48the Prime Minister's event were underway.
00:50He managed to get inside, showing an identity card where he claimed he was an officer working in the Prime
00:58Minister's office.
00:59His bodyguard, 49-year-old Dilip Kunde, who also tried to enter the premises carrying a firearm.
01:06He was stopped at the entrance. Imagine somebody with a PMO eye card just waltz, he was able to waltz
01:13in.
01:13Had it not been the PSO, he would have been caught.
01:17So, when the PSO contacted the so-called personal security officer, when he contacted Parekh, who then came back to
01:25the entrance,
01:26flashed his fake PMO identity card once again, that police came in and then they started questioning him.
01:34So, the police carried out a detailed investigation of the identity card, of the date of issue, and it did
01:42not have a validity date.
01:44Valid till when it carried the signature of the person who issued it, but no designation of the person who
01:52signed.
01:53This fake PMO identity card described Parekh as a grade C official at PMO, and this raised multiple red flags.
02:04So, the Mumbai police reached out to the SPG, is what we are being told, the special protection group.
02:10Both Parekh and Kunde were taken into custody.
02:14The police are now searching for a third accused in this case, 24-year-old Prathamesh Ganesh Bagul.
02:22Now, Parekh was produced in court.
02:24He has been remanded to police custody till the 11th of September.
02:28His lawyer claims Parekh may have been a victim of an elaborate con.
02:34The defence told court a short while back, Parekh believed that he was an official in the Prime Minister's office.
02:41He believed he had been hired to advise the Prime Minister's office, as an advisor in PMO.
02:48His lawyer claimed Parekh had actually received an official-looking office offer letter on his email.
02:56And this letter, apparently, was signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, according to Parekh.
03:03And there was an email, apparently, from some additional secretary to the Prime Minister of India.
03:08His lawyer says Parekh had actually been receiving directions since December 2024,
03:16including an alleged direction to appoint a PSO while roaming around in Mumbai.
03:22His lawyer also claimed this purported PMO identity card was sent to Parekh as a screenshot
03:29and that he was never given an official physical copy.
03:33He never met those who had hired him in person.
03:36It was all happening through email.
03:38The defence then went on to claim in court that Parekh had gone to Jio World Plaza
03:44not to check the Prime Minister's fintech event, which was happening in that same premises,
03:49but to buy perfume for his fiancé at a different location at the same plaza.
03:54A case has now been registered at the BKC at the Bandra-Korla Complex Police Station
03:59under relevant provisions of the Bharatya Nyayas Sahita, the BNS,
04:04including impersonation, cheating, forgery, use of forged documents,
04:09impersonating a government official and so on.
04:11But the Mumbai police have now just issued a clarification.
04:16The police say the arrest at no point of time had any connection with the Prime Minister's visit to Mumbai
04:23today
04:24or there was no question of any breach of security whatsoever.
04:29That is what the police are clarifying.
04:32I want to quickly cut across and bring in India Today's Divesh Singh for more on this.
04:37Divesh, this doesn't seem to add up.
04:40Somebody who claims that he's an official of the PMO, a grade C official, having a PSO,
04:46tried to enter BKC, you know, just 24 hours before the Prime Minister's event.
04:52Is there any corroborative evidence to any of what the lawyer has claimed in court?
05:01Well, Gaurav, the lawyer appearing for Rohan Parekh, the accused,
05:0724-year-old accused who has been arrested for using a fake forged PMO identity card
05:15who was with his private bodyguard, private security officer,
05:19who was carrying a .32 bore weapon, a firearm, and he'd entered the GEO World Plaza.
05:27Now, the fintech event is happening at NMACC, which is Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center,
05:34which is in the same premises, which is adjacent to the GEO World Plaza.
05:39And GEO World Plaza, this person, this person, Rohan Parekh,
05:42this accused Rohan Parekh, entered at the GEO World Plaza few hours before,
05:47like last evening, and he had entered into the premises.
05:50Now, this whole area had heavy security deployed
05:54because the event was happening on 8th of September,
05:58that is the Global Fintech Fest that's happening today,
06:01that was inaugurated by the PM this evening.
06:05And yesterday evening, Rohan Parekh, along with his PSO
06:09and another person, Pratafesh Bagul, entered the GEO World Plaza,
06:13and he had already entered the premises.
06:16Dilip Kunde, the PSO, was stopped because he was carrying a firearm,
06:19and police were alerted.
06:21Then Rohan Parekh came to the security officials.
06:24He flashed his identity card.
06:25Was it a licensed firearm?
06:26Are there more details?
06:27Was it a licensed firearm?
06:29Was he authorized to carry a firearm?
06:31Do we have more details?
06:32Who issued the license?
06:34Are all those details available in public domain as of now?
06:39Well, that is being checked.
06:41The license, there are some documents provided by Dilip Kunde to the police,
06:48but the verification regarding those documents,
06:51the license is being done by the police.
06:54It is being checked whether it is a forged license,
06:57whether it is a genuine license which he was carrying for the firearm.
07:03That is being checked, that is being verified by the police.
07:06But this identity card of the PMO raised red flags.
07:11Remember, this was pointed out that the PMO identity card had Rohan Parekh's photo,
07:18had his name, had his designation as a grade C official working for the PMO,
07:23but did not have a validity period date.
07:27It had date of issue, but did not have a validity period date.
07:30Also, it was signed by an official, there was a signature of the issuer,
07:37but the issuer's designation was not mentioned, which is duly mentioned.
07:43Divesh, keep tracking that story.
07:45I will come back to you for more because this story just doesn't seem to add up.
07:49Had he been employed by whoever, not PMO, who was paying him since December 2024,
07:55was he being paid, was he sent to different places,
07:59had he carried out reconnaissance in different places?
08:01There are many questions that remain unanswered and we'll be tracking that story very closely.
08:05Divesh, for the moment, many thanks for joining me.
08:11Moving to the top story we're tracking here on India today,
08:14is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's frontal attack at the opposition
08:18and those who constantly question everything remain unhappy
08:23with every development taking place in the country
08:26who the Prime Minister has termed as Naraz Phupas in our society
08:32and he said the Sach Ki Hunkar will actually demolish Jhoot Ki Goonj.
08:39Now, the Prime Minister was addressing a mega event at Vododra.
08:43He launched and inaugurated several development projects worth 35,000 crore rupees.
08:48The Prime Minister said this is laying the foundation of a developed India by 2047,
08:54Viksit Bharat Ki Neev.
08:55The Prime Minister targeted those who questioned, for example, the dedicated freight corridor.
09:00Now, he said youth of this country will no longer be misled by the Jhoot Ki Goonj
09:07or the litany of lies because the truth will be in public domain.
09:13The remarks came just three days after the Prime Minister used similar remarks
09:16in his attack on the naysayers at the Shriram College of Commerce in the national capital.
09:24The Congress hit back.
09:25They've labelled the Prime Minister's remarks or his Gen Z outreach as a PR campaign
09:30saying anyone who dares to question the Prime Minister
09:33is labelled either as Dimagi Naksal or as Naras Phupa or as Urban Naksal.
09:40But answers are not forthcoming.
09:42We get you more in this report.
09:54A mega-dose of Vikas and another dose for the Naras Phupa.
10:02Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Vadodara unveiling and launching projects worth over 35,000 crore rupees.
10:10He dedicated three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor spanning 326 kilometres built at a cost of more than
10:2020,700 crore rupees.
10:24There were new railway and highway projects too, as Prime Minister Modi used the infrastructure push to contrast his government's
10:32record with the UPA years.
10:38But once he took the mic, the opposition was in the firing line.
10:43Taking a swipe at his critics, the Prime Minister mocked those who will always find something to complain about.
10:50Prime Minister Modi's message, no matter how much development happens, the Naras Phupa ji will always find a reason to
10:57complain.
10:58Prime Minister Modi's message, no matter how much development happens, the Narendra Modi's message will always find something to complain
11:04about.
11:06That, the Narendra Modi's message, no matter how much development happens, the Narendra Gobini has any credit.
11:35Next came the Jhut Ki Gunj attack.
11:38Without naming Rahul Gandhi, who has been busy holding Chhatran Ki Gunj,
11:43the Prime Minister accused the opposition of trying to mislead Gen Z,
11:47asserting that the youth can see through the noise
11:50and that truth will ultimately defeat the Jhut Ki Gunj.
11:54Jhut Ki Gunj se bharmane wale toh, har choharaye per mil jayenge.
12:07Lekin Bharat ka naujawan saj ki humkaar se chalta hai.
12:16And this wasn't a one-off.
12:19Just three days ago at SRCC,
12:21Prime Minister Modi had unleashed the same political vocabulary.
12:25Naras Fufa for the naysayers,
12:29Jhut Ki Gunj for his critics,
12:31and a homeopathy doze for the dimagi naxas.
12:35You will get two types of people.
12:39One person who has the power of the society,
12:46Samaad ki shakti ko rastri ki shakti me madalte hai.
12:52I have to say that the other people have become the same thing that has become the same thing that
13:05has become the same thing.
13:06I have heard the word for 15 August.
13:10I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:16I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:19I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:25I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:31I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:35I have a call of a homeopathy.
13:45Prime Minister Modi is giving his political attacks a new vocabulary.
13:49And Fufa ji, it seems, isn't getting off the hook any time soon.
13:56Bureau Report, India Today.
14:03So, who are these naras fufas or dimagi nuxals or urban nuxals?
14:10Is there merit in the Prime Minister saying that those who are always unhappy
14:14and will continue to crib irrespective of the progress made?
14:17For example, as he said, if a freight train carries cargo on this dedicated freight corridor,
14:22the fufas will complain about the 200 odd truck drivers losing their cargo.
14:25Or is there merit in the opposition saying, the opposition is hitting back and hard saying,
14:30anybody who asks questions is then branded either a naras fufa or a dimagi nuxal or an urban nuxal.
14:38And this is incorrect.
14:39Asking questions should not lead to labels.
14:42Joining you on India first is Thuheen Sinha, author and national spokesperson of the BJP.
14:48Dr. Nishant Anand is national spokesperson of the Congress party.
14:52Also joining me on this broadcast is Jay Anand Dehadra, an advocate and commentator on this issue.
14:58And Nishant Anand merit in the Prime Minister saying that the naras fufas will always crib.
15:05They will not appreciate the development that's happening.
15:08He took the example of this freight train.
15:11Cargo equivalent of more than 250 trucks being transported from Mumbai to Vadodara in one trip.
15:17The naras fufas will not see development.
15:19They will only crib about the truck drivers and the cargo.
15:23Respond to the insinuation that the Congress or the opposition has become permanent objector, object to anything that happens.
15:33Yes.
15:34Good evening.
15:34You all see first.
15:36My voice is coming.
15:39Yes.
15:41Okay.
15:41First, my deepest, deepest condolences and the prayers go out to all the families who have lost their loved ones.
15:50It seems like every single month we are forced to say this.
15:54It is deeply painful and truly shameful.
15:57PGP cannot wash its hands of 162 paper leaks.
16:01India's youth will not forget and India's youth will not forgive.
16:05Remember our youth paid for those empty promises with their love and dignity.
16:11What did Rahul Gandhi said?
16:14India's education system is an extortion machine.
16:17Due to the lack of good hostages, colleges, universities, students are forced to live in PG.
16:25In a single PG, 40 to 60 people are living.
16:28We see that two days back in Sartaini.
16:31Every student lives and their protection must be ensured under all circumstances.
16:37If you remember, last month when 21 children died after a paper leak need exam.
16:44The BJP guard landing the education minister.
16:47Look at the priorities.
16:49Now I want to mention 490 BJP offices.
16:52Kamal Mahal have been built.
16:54But zero hostels, zero school.
16:56When BJP governments will Kabul Mahal for themselves and grace for their dreams.
17:02Of their youth, silence is known.
17:06Please take the audio.
17:08Just on the 7th of September, next day.
17:09Give me a moment as we try and set your audio right.
17:12Let me get Toohin Sina to respond.
17:14Because the opposition is raising very valid points.
17:20If there is a building collapse in the national capital.
17:23And students who are looking for a bright future suddenly get trapped in the rubble.
17:27And unfortunately, six or seven have lost their lives.
17:31Respond on merits.
17:33Why tag the opposition or anybody who raises question,
17:38Naras Pupa or Dimagi Naksal?
17:44Good evening, Gaurav.
17:46Good evening, everybody.
17:47See, Gaurav, you know, first we need to understand who is a Naras Pupa or a Dimagi Naksal.
17:52Essentially, you know, Prime Minister was referring to toxic pessimists who, you know, forget seeing the glass as half full
17:59or half empty.
18:00Who would say that a half, you know, a fully, a full glass is completely empty.
18:06That's the urban, that's the Dimagi Naksal.
18:09So, these are the people who have a problem with the freight corridor.
18:14These are the people who repeatedly cast aspersions on bullet train.
18:18These are the people who mock UPI.
18:20These are the people who, in fact, say that the Operation Sindur was a plop show.
18:25It was a surrender despite knowing the truth from the senior most Army and Air Force professionals.
18:32These are the people who completely, you know, every day they mock, they mock the poor.
18:37And, you know, today, I mean, who are using the UPI?
18:39The poorest of the poor, the fruit vendors, the auto drivers.
18:42This has led to digital economy.
18:44They had a problem with that.
18:45So, essentially, it's about toxic pessimists like Rahul Gandhi who want to paint a grim picture of the country.
18:53See, any death which happens due to a building collapse is extremely regrettable.
18:59People should be held accountable for that.
19:01But should that stop the progress of the country?
19:03Sir, the opposition can say people should be held accountable.
19:06The government cannot say people has to be held accountable.
19:09The government has to hold people accountable.
19:11There is a difference, sir.
19:13There is a difference.
19:15Opposition can say.
19:16And let me get Jayanan Dehadrai to respond.
19:18My limited point is that
19:19When the BJP was in opposition, it could say, it could say, you know, people should be held accountable.
19:26Twelve years, you're in power at the center.
19:29Now you're in power in the state.
19:30But Jayanan Dehadrai, you know, merit in the opposition saying,
19:34Naraz Phupa, Arban Naksal, Dimagi Naksal.
19:38The opposition says anybody who asks questions is being delegitimized.
19:43Or do you find merit in the government claiming that the opposition is guilty of opposing for the sake of
19:50opposition?
19:52Gaurav, good evening.
19:53If I may just very quickly reframe this entire issue as I see it.
19:57And I think my friend, Mr. Tuhin Sina, has also, I think, missed the main point.
20:02This is a prime minister who reminds me of the prime minister from 2014.
20:07He's looking razor focused.
20:09He's looking, he's sounding aggressive.
20:12And he's looking and he's sounding very, very hungry for a fight.
20:16This is firstly the way I would frame both the speech at SRCC on the 5th.
20:21And now his speech in Vadodara.
20:23So this is an aggressive Modi who's back in the field.
20:27And for anybody, all of his naysayers who are saying that he's lost his aggression and so on.
20:31This is firstly a message to them.
20:33Point one.
20:34Point two.
20:35The Naraz Phupa, Gaurav, is none other than Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
20:40Because it is people like Rahul Gandhi.
20:43And I think this is where the prime minister is expressing his frustration with his political opponents.
20:48And the quality of political opponents that he has to deal with.
20:51Because as Mr. Sina says rightly, and I do agree with him here.
20:55That there are many things you can criticize this government about.
20:58And the opposition is supposed to, Gaurav, come up with an alternative developmental model.
21:03That is the whole point of an opposition.
21:05But to simply criticize everything for the sake of criticizing it, as my friend Dr. Anand is also trying to
21:11do here.
21:12Basically proves the prime minister's point that you sound like a Naraz Phupa.
21:18And that is what, which is why I said that Rahul Gandhi is the caricature of a Naraz Phupa.
21:25And the prime minister has this great skill, Gaurav, in giving a character.
21:29Making a character out of, or characterization out of his political opponents.
21:33And this one will stick.
21:35You think it will stick, but Nishant Anand, the prime minister has in the past also spoken about opposition criticizing
21:45the government for the sake of criticism, not on merits.
21:49For example, the prime minister says when we were building the tallest statue, they questioned its necessity.
21:55When the government was working on the bullet train, they raised the same question.
22:00The prime minister, and just now in the debate, you know, Tuhin Sina raised the question that when UPI was
22:07brought in,
22:08the opposition questioned UPI or whether it was even possible.
22:12They questioned the need of a new parliament.
22:14They called it, or even the war memorial.
22:17The people of India, the prime minister says, answers all such people.
22:22Do you want to respond on the specific points that the prime minister has raised?
22:26Yes.
22:26Gaurav, see, I don't want to criticize.
22:28We are giving the facts.
22:30The next day when the Satya Niketan building collapsed, just on the 7th of September, Amish Shah Ji was in
22:36Goa,
22:36inaugurating a new BJP state headquarters.
22:39Just understand, JP Nadda recently proudly stated 290 BJP offices have been built under Modi.
22:44With 105 more under construction.
22:47Understand, had that money instead gone into colleges and student hostels,
22:51perhaps yesterday's Satya Niketan tragedy could have been avoided.
22:55So understand, why are these death traps running?
22:58For 40 years, there was a section 466A of the DMC Act.
23:03A section that stood under Congress government for 40 years,
23:07wherein all unauthorized construction was a criminal office that has been removed by the BJP government.
23:13They discriminalized illegal structures to protect builders while risking students' lives.
23:19Modi ji labelled rising protest of students at Sato ki goonj nahi hai hai.
23:24Jhoot ki goonj hai.
23:24But he did not answer about the lati ho ki goonj.
23:27Till today, we do not have the answers.
23:30Why were the students worth lati charge and AK-47 was used?
23:34We have no problem. Rename the campaign. All you like.
23:37But the question stays the same.
23:3912 years, 152 paper leaks and not a single punishment.
23:43It is easy to call children misguided and questions.
23:47Naraz fufa.
23:48Fufa naraz nahi hai hai.
23:54An 80% rise in student crisis is not an imaginary claim.
24:00It comes from the government's own official data.
24:04Respond to Hinsina on merits.
24:09The Congress says we continue to raise the issue of meat paper leak, of building collapse.
24:15And clearly, Delhi with 7 lakh students has only 9000 hostel rooms.
24:22So, you know, is there merit in the Congress saying BJP offices are being built.
24:27Where are hostels for students?
24:30No, no, Gaurav.
24:32First of all, the hypocrisy of the Congress party needs to be called out.
24:36What is this equivalence?
24:37You know, that there is a building collapse.
24:39And he is saying there is a building collapse in Delhi.
24:42But the home minister is in Goa carrying out his programs.
24:45I mean, do I need to remind him that after 26-11, two days after 26-11, where 200 people
24:51were killed.
24:51Please don't bash in now.
24:52Where 200 people were killed.
24:54Rahul Gandhi was out party.
24:56I mean, what kind of equation?
24:57The next day he is inaugurating a new BJP office.
24:59This is not the way.
25:00The next day he is inaugurating a BJP office.
25:02I won't tolerate this hooliganism on your show.
25:04You will have played 490 BJP offices.
25:06This is not the Congress party.
25:07No, no, Gaurav.
25:08I mean, I don't know where you get these people from.
25:12Okay.
25:12This is…
25:13Dr. Anand…
25:14Dr. Anand, when you were speaking…
25:16No, no.
25:17When you were speaking, there was no interruption.
25:19No, no.
25:19I need to complete my points.
25:19Extend the same courtesy to my other guest.
25:23I mean, I…
25:23Every…
25:23Every day…
25:23This is not that channel where people, you know, speak on top of each other.
25:27One by one.
25:29No, no.
25:29Mr. Sinha, complete your point.
25:31Then I will bring in Dr. Anand.
25:32Again…
25:32Again, you know, he is talking about…
25:34You know, again, he is talking about…
25:36About students being hit in Delhi.
25:38But, you know, the…
25:39I know for a fact that people…
25:41The students in Jharkhand were cheated by the…
25:43By the JMM Congress government.
25:45They were given an assurance which was implausible to be executed when…
25:49Which was rightly held back by the Jharkhand High Court.
25:51And after that, they were…
25:52You know, point…
25:53They were found out and hit in their homes.
25:56This is the truth.
25:57And they never…
25:58Rahul Gandhi never had the courtesy to go there.
26:00See, Gaurav, you need to understand.
26:02India is at a very important infection point.
26:05Today, our aspirational sectors…
26:07Okay.
26:08The space economy stands at $9 billion and is likely to go up five times in the next 10 years.
26:13Similarly, you know, the AI market is likely to go up 10x in the next 10 years.
26:18Similarly, shipbuilding, shipmaking…
26:20All of these are aspirational, you know, zones which are going to spur growth many times over in the next
26:28two decades.
26:29We cannot afford an opposition which is dragging down India every single day with its pessimism, with its negative…
26:37Sir, that's a very strong comment to make on the opposition.
26:41He was telling…
26:41Just 10 more seconds.
26:43Just…
26:43Of course.
26:44And just 10 more seconds.
26:45Just 10 more seconds.
26:46He was pointing out, you know, about the paper leaks.
26:48When we passed the, you know, amendment to the Unfair Prevention of Unfair Means Act, what was Rahul Gandhi's and
26:59Priyanka Gandhi's contribution?
27:01Rahul Gandhi was labeling half the youth of this country as un-the-bugs and idiots.
27:06Priyanka Gandhi was calling the IIT director, one of the most erudite educationists in the country as Gaul Mutra specialist.
27:15This is their contribution during an important debate…
27:18…which spanned over two days.
27:19And they have the gall, they have the temerity to go out and blame us.
27:23Okay.
27:24I mean, I think…
27:25Jayananda Hadrai, you've heard both sides.
27:26This is why we are caught in India.
27:28The Prime Minister has been very kind.
27:30You've heard both sides.
27:32Merit in those statements being made, either side.
27:35I mean, questioning the Statue of Unity or high-speed Vande Bharat trains or made-in-India vaccines,
27:41the new parliament building, that's the government's charge but the opposition's charge equally strong.
27:46Paper leaks, it's a disaster, should not happen in a country like India.
27:50Look at our future generation, our students being forced to live in these horrible PG's.
27:55Of course, to add, these PG's did not come up just in the past 10-12 years.
28:00That's been a problem of our university life even when we were in college decades ago.
28:05But there is no solution.
28:07That's the problem.
28:08Jay.
28:09Gaurav, I agree with you.
28:11You know, look, there are certain aspects of governance where there is a major need for
28:15some recalibration and I think the Prime Minister is alive to that problem.
28:20And he's made it very clear in multiple public utterances that he has made.
28:24But, you know, coming back to what I said originally,
28:26I think the Prime Minister continues to remain rather frustrated with his opposition.
28:32And look, the facts, Gaurav speak for themselves.
28:35For instance, who could possibly argue against setting up a dedicated freight corridor?
28:40I mean, this is going to be a 2,800-kilometer logistics game-changer that will naturally have an impact
28:47on the GDP.
28:48So, the latest GDP figures are already at 7.8%.
28:51You know, the Congress is sort of hitting back and saying that, well, we don't trust the figures and the
28:57data
28:57and the basis on which, you know, this was calculated.
29:00They can keep debating this till the cows come home.
29:03But the point is that pretty much every, you know, economist and expert worth their salt has, you know, certified
29:11these figures.
29:12So, when the Prime Minister, just one last thing, when the Prime Minister, Gaurav, according to me,
29:17when he talks about these large infrastructure projects, according to me, he's also talking about securing India's national security.
29:24Because, look, our self-reliance, the fact that we have excellent, you know, logistics corridors,
29:30all of these things also feed into aspects of national security.
29:34And I think that is the key focus and will be the biggest contribution.
29:36Economy and security, they go absolutely hand in hand.
29:39You're spot on.
29:39And I will take this debate forward another day.
29:43I'm sorry, I've run out of time on this part of the show.
29:45I want to thank our guests.
29:46I want to move to the other big story that we're tracking here on India today.
29:50And it's a very significant order that's come from the Allahabad High Court on these slogans like Sar Tan Se
29:58Jida.
29:59The Allahabad High Court, it's denied bail to a cleric, Taukir Raza, in connection with the 2025 Bareli violence.
30:06So, Taukir Raza Khan, a maulana there, he called for a protest in Bareli in September 2025.
30:13And police claim in their charge sheet that there was subsequently stone pelting, petrol bombs were hurled, police personnel were
30:22injured, public property was damaged.
30:25But the most significant observation are the slogans itself.
30:29The High Court said Sar Tan Se Jida is not an acceptable religious slogan or words to that effect.
30:40It challenges the authority of the law of the land and the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
30:47It incites people to violate the law of the land.
30:52Nobody has the right to carry out Sar Tan Se Jida in a secular democracy.
30:59We are not, and you know, the distinction, the court made it very clear.
31:04Sar Tan Se Jida cannot be equated with other religious slogans.
31:16These are expressions of reverence to the Almighty or to the Gurus, but not Sar Tan Se Jida.
31:26So tonight, after another strong word from the court, the question is,
31:32will the Sar Tan Se Jida apologists now apologize and follow the law of the land
31:40or wait for the strong arm of the law to catch up and justice be served?
31:47We get you more in this report.
31:54It was a Friday that began with prayers, but ended with stones, petrol bombs and chaos on the streets.
32:01A mob confronted the police.
32:03Law and order was challenged.
32:05Public property was damaged.
32:07And at the center of the case, a name.
32:10Maulana Tawki Raza Khan, the chief of the Etihad Emillat Council.
32:14Tawki Raza had called for an I love Mohammed protest in Bareilly, despite the administration denying permission.
32:21His provocative statements incited the mob, leading to outbreaks of violence across Bareilly.
32:41The mob attacked police teams and raised Sar Tan Se Jida slogans during the violence, all at the direction of
32:50Maulana Tawki Raza.
32:52Police called Tawki Raza the main conspirator in the Bareilly unrest.
32:59He was arrested on the 27th of September 2025 and sent to judicial custody.
33:24And now, almost a year later, the Allahabad High Court has delivered a sharp message.
33:28The High Court has rejected Tawki Raza's bail plea in the Bareilly violence case.
33:33And the court has set the record straight.
33:36Flagging the Sar Tan Se Jida threat, the court said it incites people to armed rebellion.
33:41It also asserted that Sar Tan Se Jida can't be equated with religious slogans such as Jai Shri Ram, Harar
33:47Mahadev or Allahu Akbar.
33:49The court said that those express reverence, while Sar Tan Se Jida challenges the authority of law and India's sovereignty
33:55and integrity.
33:57Bareilly wasn't a one-off.
33:59The slogan, Sar Tan Se Jida, has repeatedly been invoked as a threat of violence.
34:06Atela Kanahia Lal was infamously murdered outside his shop in Udaipur after supporting Nupush Sharma's remarks.
34:12Chemist Umesh Kohle was murdered in Amravati after being targeted over his support for her.
34:17Lawyer Satendra Bharti in UP's Ghaziabad received a beheading threat for the same reason.
34:23Different victims, different places, the same chilling message.
34:28Any disagreement with their interpretation of faith and you could pay with your life.
34:32Remember that is not religious devotion.
34:35That is the weaponization of religion to intimidate, silence, threaten and eventually kill.
34:42Remember the moment a religious slogan becomes a call for someone's death, your right to practice your faith starts infringing
34:48upon the rights of others.
34:50Their right to life and the state must stand firmly on the side of the law.
34:54With Pankaj Shivastava in Lucknow, we are a report, India Today.
35:03I have Moulana Sajid Rashidi, President of the Old India Imam Association joining me on this broadcast.
35:09Also with me, Jainand Dehadra, Advocate Supreme Court stays on this conversation.
35:13Moulana Sajid, High Court has said that this is not possible.
35:20This is not possible that the law of India and the law of the law is the sovereignty of India
35:28and rule of law.
35:32You are in a discussion of
35:36I don't think Islam is the one that I do not.
35:40When I came to this situation, we had the first time that Islam is not the one that I do
35:49not.
35:49But one thing that I do not know is that if my messenger of God and my messenger of God
35:56and his wife and his wife and his wife and his wife and his wife, if there are aneragal bataes,
36:00then there are aneragal bataes in our country.

37:14the court has set the record straight
37:16sartan se juda is not a religious slogan and when it comes to india and this is my question
37:24we're a truly secular country one slogans like sartan se juda completely unacceptable
37:29but maulana sahab's fear is while that is condemned and rightly so jai shri ram ka naara laga ke
37:36people are killing uh uh muslims in uh as he puts it how do you read that
37:43got a first and foremost right at the outset i respectfully but very vehemently disagree with
37:49maulana ji he's absolutely wrong for him to compare a religious invocation which is what
37:55jai shri ram is to compare that to sartan se juda i mean i don't know what sort of uh
38:02you know
38:02interpretation he's suggesting but the the meaning of the two phrases is completely different one is
38:09a pure invocation religious invocation the other is basically saying that somebody's head should
38:13be cut off it it asks for beheading so one is incitement to violence while the other is a is
38:19a very simple in fact in northern india it is a greeting between people yes it is it you know
38:24it
38:24is an invocation to god i don't know what this data is that he's uh citing to to come up
38:29with this idea
38:30that you know it inside jai shri ram has led to violence i disagree with him completely and the
38:36other point gaurav as you rightly said the honorable high court has decided this purely as a question
38:41of law this is not a hindu versus muslim debate at all there's nothing to do with it this is
38:47a person
38:48who is accused of inciting violence and naturally there is in fact gaurav nothing there is no religious
38:55subtext to this phrase sartan se juda it can be said by any person from any religion but if any
39:01person
39:01uses that phrase it amounts to an offense this is a criminal offense you're trying to incite violence
39:06against the state and the third point it absolutely challenges the sovereignty and rule of law in a
39:12country like india how can you allow a mob to go rampaging marauding you know crying this slogan
39:20saying i'm sartan se juda i'm sorry no citizen in this country has the right to take the law in
39:26their own hand and while i agree with maulana ji he's right that you know revered religious figures
39:32should never be blasphemed or you know abused or or you know said bad things about i agree with him
39:38but at the same time we are not a theocracy gaurav we are a rule of law country and we
39:44have a criminal
39:44justice system file a complaint go to the police fight it out in court and give that person punishment
39:50but you can't go around giving punishment to people

44:19I want to say that I don't want to say that I don't want to say anything about them.
44:24I want to say that I am very respectful and very proud of you.
44:28And I want to tell you this too, that there are many Muslims who have no problem,
44:35that if they want to show their love for their country,
44:42they don't have any problem in the song.
44:45In fact, I had a discussion with someone and they told me that
44:48that Islam is not prohibited anywhere in which country you live.
44:51That country's leader, you can get it from your heart.
44:58There is no restriction.
45:00That's one thing.
45:02But the main point and main point that we are debating today,
45:07is that you can't compare two different phrases.
45:13One is Jai Shri Ram.
45:14That means Allah is good.
45:16There is no problem.
45:17There is no problem.
45:17There is no problem.
45:18But you have to believe that it is acceptable.
45:24Because I think that Jai Shri Ram has some violent incidents.
45:28This is wrong.
45:29I will say that you don't say it.
45:32This is not true.
45:33You don't say it.
45:33You don't say it.
45:41It's not true.
45:43You don't say it.
45:48You don't say it.
46:01You don't say it.
46:08You don't say it.
46:12You don't say it.
46:48It's illegal and absolutely incorrect what he said and did.
46:52You don't say it.
47:16mr.
47:43He has a lack of faith. He has a misguided. Or he is a political man who wants to take
47:48advantage of any party.
47:49I can say this. Islam doesn't say this.
47:53Today's debate is not. Today's debate is very seamless.
47:59I'd like to respond to it very quickly.
48:02That's completely unacceptable.
48:04You are digress.
48:07I am very proud of you.
48:08I am very proud of you.
48:12I am very proud of you.
48:14I am very proud of you.
48:15I am very proud of you.
48:19The Supreme Court has a test in multiple judgments.
48:24It's essential religious practices.
48:27Okay?
48:31I am very proud of you.
48:33I am very proud of you.
48:36I am very proud of you.
48:51I am very proud of you.
48:52How are you?
48:54I am very proud of you.
49:00I am very proud of you.
49:18disagree I don't disagree I don't disagree your I can say that Allah Allah
49:23I'm not going to marry me I don't be大丈夫 I'm talking to you I can only speak
49:37so that I just said you have supported interpretation that I have said sir I do
49:43I don't want to say that in that interpretation, if you want to put your love in your country and
49:48put your love in your country,
49:50then you can't do that.
49:52No, hold on, just get the Maulana's fader down for a moment.
49:55Let Jay at least complete his point.
49:57You don't want to give him a point.
50:00Why are you so upset?
50:02Just tell him.
50:03Maulana Ji, if he is saying wrong, then tell him.
50:06Just tell him. You don't want to give him a point.
50:08I want to give him a point.
50:12The test of the essential religious practices,
50:15like you have given an interpretation,
50:17the phrase, the first word,
50:20you can't say anything.
50:22You can't show any other thing.
50:26I disagree with you.
50:27It's not that it can be done.
50:30I want to give you a point.
50:32If someone agree with you,
50:34you don't want to give him a point.
50:36If there is a disagreement,
50:37then you will go to any other point.
50:40This is the same thing.
50:42Yes, say it.

51:12After death,
51:20if you look at the politicalでした,
51:21you will work the way to face the situation.
51:21If you look at the political system,
51:21you will do not want to talk you
51:21a nice way.
51:21that a slogan that prescribes punishment outside the law, including death,
51:29should invite the strongest possible criminal action and sections of the law, point one and point two.
51:36Is it now time for the country to move towards one nation, one law for all?
51:42Yes, absolutely, Gaurav.
51:43And I think what the Honorable High Court has done is nothing special, nothing extraordinary.
51:47They've just upheld the law.
51:49And I quite agree with you.
51:50I think the time has come.
51:51One, that we do need a uniform civil court.
51:53It will, in fact, improve the sense of unity and national integration amongst various communities.
52:00What can be problematic with that?
52:03So that is, of course, on the civil side.
52:04But in terms of criminal law, in any case, we have a uniform court.
52:08It applies to me, you, Maulana Ji, all of us equally.
52:11And what the High Court has done, I salute the Honorable High Court.
52:14I think it's an absolutely legally sound decision.
52:17Any citizen, regardless of which religion they belong to, if they incite violence,
52:22most certainly, you know, the High Court is going to take note of that, the courts are going to take
52:26note of that, and the person is going to be punished.
52:28So this is 100% correct, Kaurav.
52:31So this is the case.
52:32but the last minute, which is the second second, which is the first time that we have to do,
52:37the government of the government, which is the most important thing for us,
52:43if something is wrong, then criminal law is supreme in this country.
52:49All of this.
52:51And if all religion, which are the people who have to do this,
52:55when they are not afraid, they should be afraid of them,
53:05Because if somebody loses his life, there are only two punishments,
53:09either a life in prison or death by hanging.
53:14That is the only punishment in criminal law for all, irrespective of religion.
53:18But is it also time to get uniform civil code now in our country?
53:23But that's a debate for another time.
53:24And we shall have it one nation, one kind of laws for all citizens.
53:29Barring, of course, certain tribes and certain special sections.
53:33But that's, again, a debate for another time.
53:36That is all that I have for you on India First this evening.
53:39I want to thank Maulana Sajid Rashidi, as always,
53:42and Jainan Dehadra for joining me here on India First.
