Cookery series with Big Cook Ben and foot-high Little Cook Small. Together Ben and Small run a special cafe where every day a different customer calls in for a tasty treat. Ben and Small are racing some toys in a tank of water. Then they try other objects in the tank to see which ones float and which ones sink. Dorothy the Diver visits the cafe and the cooks make her some shark samosas. In return, she leaves them lots of things to put in their tank of water, including a diver.

00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe. Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:17Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun. Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:31OK, they're ready Small, you start them off. OK, ready, steady. Oh, hello.
00:41Hello everyone, welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:46We're having swimming races with our toys, look. They have to get from one end of the tank to the other.
00:54Which one do you think will win, the frog or the fish?
00:57We'll soon find out. Are you ready? Are you steady? Go!
01:04Wahoo!
01:06Which one?
01:08The fish is winning Small, up he goes.
01:10Oh, the frog got there first, hooray!
01:13Oh, brilliant!
01:16I wonder why these toys float Small. You'd think they'd sink to the bottom of the tank.
01:22Hmm, I know Ben. Why don't we put some more things in the water to see if they float or sink?
01:28OK then Small, we'll try this apple. What do you think? Float or sink?
01:36I think sink.
01:38Oh, will it float Ben?
01:40Let's see.
01:41Oh, it floats!
01:42Oh, I was sure it would sink.
01:44Oh, hey Ben, why don't you try this cork? What do you think? Float or sink?
01:54Thanks Small, I think sink.
01:59Oh, wrong again! It floats! It's funny, isn't it? All our toys float. We must have something that sinks.
02:11Oh, come on Small, we've got a customer. Better see who it is.
02:16I'm on my way! Woohoo!
02:23Who's our customer today Small?
02:25It's Dorothy the Diver, Ben!
02:31Oh, Dorothy the Diver who swims under the sea?
02:34Yes!
02:36Divers sink, don't they? I wonder how they stay down there for so long?
02:40I know the answer to that. I've got a story about a diver in my book. I think it's time to look in my book.
02:55We need a story to help us cook. Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:01Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World. Let me see.
03:05Here we are, Adventures Under the Sea.
03:11I have a friend, Dorothy, who's a diver.
03:14She travels all over the world to swim under the sea and to learn about the fish and plants that live there.
03:20She wears a special suit and helmet which allow her to breathe.
03:23The Undersea World is a beautiful place full of wonderful colours and surprises and I love to hear about Dorothy's adventures.
03:33One day I got a letter from Dorothy. It said,
03:36I've got a question for you. Where can you find a bumblebee, a clown, a zebra and a rainbow that can all swim?
03:47If you can tell me the answer, I will take you on an adventure.
03:51I thought hard about this question. A bumblebee, a clown, a zebra and a rainbow that can all swim?
03:59I thought a zebra might be able to swim and I was sure some clowns could swim.
04:05But a bumblebee can't swim, can it? And a rainbow belongs in the sky, not in the water.
04:12Then I had an idea. When I met Dorothy, I said, I think I know the answer to your question.
04:19I think you find a bumblebee, a clown, a zebra and a rainbow in the sea.
04:25They're all different kinds of fish.
04:29Well done, little cook, she said.
04:32You're right. And now, let's go on our adventure.
04:35We travelled to a place where the weather was hot and the sea was very warm and we went diving.
04:42The Undersea World sparkled as the sun shone through the water and there, in this magical place, I saw...
04:49A bumblebee fish, a funny clown fish, a stripy zebra fish and a beautiful shimmering rainbow fish.
05:01I'd solve the puzzle.
05:03Little cook to the rescue once again!
05:05That was a great adventure.
05:09Oh, I wish I could go on an adventure like that small.
05:12Wahey!
05:14Well, maybe we could make an undersea world in our tank.
05:18Great idea!
05:20Now we need to think of what to cook for Dorothy the Diver.
05:24Hey, maybe it could be something to do with the sea.

07:45This man is cooking an Indian dish called samosas.
07:50First of all, he has to chop up some potatoes.
08:02Now to add all the herbs and spices.
08:04These are used a lot in Indian cooking.
08:15In it goes.
08:22That's all the ingredients.
08:26Now it has to be cooked.
08:28A grown-up helper must turn the cooker on.
08:31Ooh, stir it all around so it all gets cooked.
08:35Yummy, yummy!
08:38To make a samosa, the pancake has to be made into a little pocket.
08:47It is held together with a special sticky flour mix.
08:53There's the pocket and in goes the vegetables and spices.
09:02Ooh, some more sticky flour mixed to hold the pocket together.
09:08Ooh, some more sticky flour mixed to hold the pocket together.
09:21It's nearly ready to eat.
09:25It's just got to be cooked again now.
09:28Ha-ha!
09:37Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle in the frying pan.
09:41When they've cooled down, they are ready to eat.
09:58Wow!
09:59Don't they look good!
10:01He's really enjoying a samosa.
10:06Samosas are yummy!
10:07Bye!
10:08I wish I could make an undersea world in our tank.
10:23Wahey!
10:25I'm back!
10:27I met a lovely family, Ben, and they taught me how to make samosas.
10:31So, is everything ready for the recipe?
10:34Everything ready and ready to go, Small.
10:36Let's get going.
10:37We're all ready, so take a look.
10:39And we will show you how to cook.
10:45The jelly boats and pirates go with princess pea pies.
10:49Carrot cakes and fruity smiles and envelopes surprise.
10:53We love our cafe and we love to cook.
10:56We have a fantastic recipe book.
11:03He is big cook and he is small.
11:06Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
11:10When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
11:16You can make something delicious to eat.
11:26Have you cleaned the surfaces?
11:28Yes!
11:29Have you washed your hands?
11:30Yes!
11:31All clean and ready to cook.
11:33All clean and ready to cook.
11:34Do you remember the ingredients to shark samosas?
11:37You do.
11:38There was rice.
11:39Half a cup.
11:41Turmeric.
11:42One teaspoon.
11:43An olive.
11:44One.
11:45Cut in half.
11:46Soft cheese.
11:47One teaspoon.
11:48Cucumber.
11:49Half.
11:50And samosas.
11:51Two.
11:52Whoopee.
11:53Let's get started.
11:55Ha ha ha.
11:56Now you'll need to get your grown up helper to do this first job for you because it's
11:59a hob job.
12:00And the hob is hot, hot, hot.
12:02So, I've put some rice into a saucepan, added some water.
12:06And now I'm going to turn on the heat and pour in the turmeric.
12:11There we are.
12:13I'll give it a bit of a stir.
12:15Now this turmeric is going to make the rice turn yellow.
12:19There we go.
12:22And now I'm going to pop the lid on and let it boil for fifteen minutes.
12:28I'll set the timer.
12:30For fifteen minutes.
12:34What do we do while we're waiting, Ben?
12:37Well, there's plenty to do while we're waiting, Small.
12:40Like be a fish?
12:41Ha ha ha.
12:42Bop, bop, bop, bop.
12:44I'm a fish.
12:45I'm a fish.
12:46And I go swish, swish.
12:48Ha ha ha.
12:49Yes.
12:50Like be a fish.
12:51Bop, bop, bop, bop.
12:53Ha ha ha.
12:54Oh, right.
12:55Now, I've cut this cucumber in half and then in half again.
13:01Now you can put this piece back in the fridge.
13:04Because we don't need that part.
13:06But this one we need for the recipe.
13:08Look, Ben.
13:09I've made some lemon peel into a fish shape.
13:12Swish, swish like my fish.
13:14Ha ha ha.
13:15Hey, I've just had an idea.
13:17I'm going to make lots of different coloured fish.
13:24The rice is cooked and cooled now.
13:27Just look how yellow it is.
13:29Wahey!
13:30Look at these.
13:32I've made a yellow fish out of lemon peel.
13:35An orange fish out of carrot.
13:38Ha ha ha.
13:39And a red fish out of a piece of red pepper.
13:42Dorothy will love these.
13:44Here we go then.
13:46Now, I'm going to spoon the rice in between the two pieces of cucumber.
13:51Nice spoonful there.
13:53And pop it in the middle.
13:56And another one.
13:59There we go.
14:02And a little more, I think.
14:04There.
14:05And now we push the two pieces of cucumber together.
14:10To make a nice, sharky shape.
14:15Just like that.
14:21Shall I put these on the plate now?
14:23Good idea, Small.
14:25OK.
14:26The red one there.
14:29The yellow one there.

14:49Well, can you read out the rest of the recipe for me, please?
14:51OK.
14:52Put a samosa on the top of the shark to look like a fin.
14:57OK.
14:58One on the top.
15:01Then put the other samosa on the back of the shark to look like a tail fin.
15:06All right.
15:08There we are.
15:13And last of all, the shark's eyes.
15:15Put a bit of cream cheese on the olive halves.
15:19Then stick them to the shark's head.
15:21One there.
15:22And the other one.
15:23There.

16:20My name's Ben and my name's Paul. We've got the cleanest kitchen of all. Tidy all the bits and pop, the things that help us do our job. Ingredients we'll put away, ready for use another day. Pots and pans will start to smell if we don't wash them really well. And now it's clear, let's all smile, we'll be finished in a little while.
16:46We're all around, up and down, we've got the cleanest cafe in town.
16:58Aha, here comes the plate. Oh yes, and Dorothy the diver has left a note. What does it say? What does it say? Let's see, shall we?
17:10It says, dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small, thank you for my yummy shark samosa. In return, here's something to help make your tank into an underwater world.
17:24Small, it's a china fish, a rock and a diver. How lovely.
17:30Hey Small, let's put the fish into the water and see if it floats or sinks. What do you think?
17:40There's only one way to find out. Let's see.
17:50Ho ho! Look, it sinks. There it is under the water.
17:56Now let's try the rock. Will it float or will it sink? What do you think?
18:04Ho ho ho ho ho! That sinks as well, Small.
18:08Ho ho ho ho! And last but not least, the diver.
18:12Float or sink? I think sink.
