00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe. Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:18Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun. Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:31No, that's not right. Hmm, what about if I spike it up a bit and, oh yeah, that's not bad.
00:39But it's still not right. Oh, hello everyone. Welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:47I'm trying to make my hair look different. I fancy a new hairstyle, but I haven't found the right one yet.
00:54Hello everyone. Hello Ben. Hello Ben. What are you doing?
01:00Oh, hello Small. I'm trying to make my hair look different. I'm fed up with this hairstyle. I want a new one.
01:07Oh, I see. Well I've got a really good game to help you decide which hairstyle you like.
01:12Brilliant. Then I could see how I'd look if my hair was different.
01:16It's called long, short, straight and curly.
01:20Oh, great. How do we play? First find a photograph of yourself.
01:24Right, a photograph. Um, where is it? Oh, I know. Here we are.
01:30Over we go. Found one.
01:33Oh, look at my hair Small. That was taken on a really windy day.
01:39Look at it blowing all over the place.
01:41You do look funny. Yeah.
01:46How do we play this game then Small?
01:48In that box are some cards. Take one out at a time and put the hole over your face.
01:53OK. What about this one?
01:57Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.
02:01How about long straight hair like Rapunzel?
02:04Let's see.
02:05Ooh, it looks great on Rapunzel, but it's not for me Small.
02:11It's just too long and straight.
02:13How about this one?
02:16That might suit you. It's big red curly hair like a clown.
02:19Let's have a look, shall we?
02:23Oh, no, no, no. I don't think so Small.
02:26It's just too curly.
02:28Try another one.
02:30OK, let's see.
02:32Ooh, let's have a look.
02:35No, no, no, no, no.
02:39I wouldn't feel right with green hair Small.
02:42Look at your hair Small.
02:45It's all bright and red. It's a great colour.
02:48I'd love hair like yours.
02:53No time to be worrying about your hair now, Ben.
02:55We've got a customer.
02:57Ooh, a customer, a customer.
03:00I'm on my way.
03:06Who's our customer, Small?
03:11Well, I never.
03:13I'll give you a clue.
03:14It's someone who likes using shampoo a lot.
03:17Hmm. Shampoo.
03:19Who?
03:20And someone who likes chop-chop chopping hair.
03:24Oh, is it a hairdresser?
03:27That's right, Ben.
03:28It's Harriet the hairdresser from the hair lounge down the road.
03:31Oh, how exciting.
03:32I bet she'll be really hungry after all that hair cutting.
03:36Oh, yes.
03:37I wonder what she'd like to eat.
03:39I think it's time to look in my book.
03:41We need a story to help us cook.
03:54Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:57Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
04:00Let me see.
04:01Boris was a beautiful dog.
04:06He was so beautiful, his owner showed him at dog shows all around the country.
04:11But he'd never quite managed to win first prize.
04:14One day I met Boris and his owner walking in the park.
04:18They were about to enter a big dog show in town.
04:21Suddenly, a cheeky cat popped its head out of a flower bed and meowed,
04:25Catch me if you can.
04:28Dogs love chasing cats, and that's exactly what Boris did.
04:32He ran after the cat as fast as he could, leaving his owner following behind.
04:38Boris ran through the squelchy mud after the cat.
04:41Boris ran up a leafy tree after the cat.
04:44And Boris ran through some spiky bushes after the cat.
04:48Finally, his owner managed to stop Boris, but it was too late.
04:52Boris and his owner looked a mess.
04:56Their hair and fur were tangled, dirty and full of mud, leaves and twigs.
05:01Oh no, said Boris' owner.
05:04We're never going to win first prize at the dog show now.
05:08And that's when I had an idea.
05:11I took Boris and his owner to see Harriet the hairdresser.
05:14She shampooed their hair.
05:16Boris liked the bubbles.
05:18She combed their hair and gave them snazzy haircuts.
05:20Finally, she blew their hair dry.
05:23Boris liked that bit too.
05:25Boris and his owner left the hairdressers looking tip top.
05:29And they were just in time for the dog show.
05:32Can you guess what Boris won?
05:34First prize!
05:36For looking so smart!
05:38Hooray for Little Cook!
05:40Everyone cheered.
05:42Little Cook to the rescue once again!
05:43Once again!
05:46That was a great adventure!
05:48How clever of Harriet the hairdresser to make Boris and his owner look so pretty!
05:53Hooray!
05:55I know!
05:56And Harriet the hairdresser even gave me a bit of a trim too!
05:59So what would a hairdresser like Harriet like to eat?
06:03Perhaps something hairy!
06:05I'm not sure about that!
06:08Let's have a think!
06:09I know!
06:10Big Cook's Big Cookery book!
06:11Of course!

06:20Here it is!
06:21The very thing!
06:22Dotty Hairstyles!
06:23What could be better for Harriet the hairdresser?
06:24Oh look at that pasta!
06:25It makes brilliant hair doesn't it?
06:26Come on Small!
06:27You read out the ingredients and I'll see if we've got them!

07:22On it goes.
07:24There we are, small.
07:27Everything we need for dotty hairstyles.
07:31Funny thing, Pastor, isn't it?
07:33Long and straight and short and curly.
07:35I wonder how it's made.
07:38Hey, I know.
07:40Why don't you whiz off and find out and I'll get everything ready.
07:43Great idea, Ben. I'll be back in a jiffy.
07:50Hey, why don't you come along too?
07:52Woo-hoo!
07:56Go, small. Go, small. Whiz away.
08:00I wonder what he'll see today.
08:12Hee-hee. This is going to be fun.
08:15This man's a chef. He makes Italian food.
08:18He's going to make some pasta.
08:20First of all, we need some flour.
08:26And then some eggs.
08:31Oh, and a little bit of salt.
08:33Sprinkle it on.
08:34Now it's time to carefully mix it all together.
08:41It looks really good fun and very messy.
08:44Oh, it takes a long time to mix it all properly.
08:54But when it's done, you have a ball of pasta dough ready to make pasta.
08:58The dough is put into a machine.
09:04You turn the handle and the dough is stretched and made a little longer.
09:12The dough has got really, really long.
09:15Ha-ha, the dough has been turned into a pasta called spaghetti.
09:27Spaghetti is long, thin pieces of pasta.
09:30It looks like hair.
09:35That was so much fun seeing pasta being made.
09:40I can't wait to tell Ben about this.
09:43See you later.
09:43I'm back, Ben.
09:59It was amazing.
10:01I saw how pasta is made.
10:03First, the man made a sort of dough with the eggs and flour.
10:07And then he put it through this special machine which made the slithery spaghetti.
10:10It looked just like hair.
10:13Talking about hair, what have you done to yours?
10:16I'm just trying out a few different styles, Small.
10:19I'm still not happy, though.
10:21You're so lucky to have such great hair, you know.
10:23I wish I could try it for a day.
10:25We'll have to worry about your hair later, Ben.
10:27I'll try and think of a few hairstyles for you.
10:29But right now, we need to make dotty hairstyles for Harriet the hairdresser.
10:34Woo-hoo!
10:34We're all ready, so take a look.
10:37And we will show you how to cook.
10:42The jelly boats and pirates go, Princess Pee Pies.
10:47Parrot cakes and fruity smiles.
10:48And envelopes surprise.
10:50We love our cafe and we love to cook.
10:54We have a fantastic recipe book.
10:57He is a big cook and he is small.
11:03Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
11:07When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
11:13You can make something delicious to eat.
11:22Have you cleaned the surfaces?
11:24Yes.
11:25Have you washed your hands?
11:26Yes.
11:28All clean and ready to cook.
11:31Do you remember the ingredients to dotty hairstyles?
11:34You do?
11:35There was pasta, one cup, long and thin, short and curly, tomato puree, one tablespoon, olives, two, milk, five tablespoons, cheese triangles, three, radishes, one, sliced, and red pepper, a slice.
11:58All the ingredients ready to go.
12:00Whoopee!
12:01Let's get started.
12:03Small, can you have a think about what hairstyle we're going to make for Harriet?
12:07Yes, OK, Ben.
12:09Excellent.
12:09Now, I've started to gently boil a pan of water.
12:12This is a job for your grown-up helper because it's going to get hot, hot, hot.
12:16Pop in our pasta.
12:19In it goes.
12:21It's hard now, but when it's cooked, it'll go soft.
12:25I'll have to think about Harriet's hairstyle later.
12:28But first, let's think about the different hairstyles for Ben.
12:32OK, hair, hair, on Ben's head.
12:36If you weren't there, what would be there instead?
12:39Would it be short or would it be long?
12:41Straight with a comb or curly with a tong?
12:44Here we go.
12:45While Small's figuring out a hairstyle, let's get on.
12:53Now, our pasta's just soft enough now, so turn off the heat and leave it in the pan to keep it warm.
13:00Now it's time for our dotty hair sauce.
13:03So, I'm going to put the milk.
13:06In it goes.
13:07And the cheese triangles.
13:10There we are.
13:12And the tomato puree.
13:16There we go.
13:19Into a pan.
13:21Turn it on.
13:23And mix it well.
13:24There!
13:30Oh, dear.
13:31That style's never going to suit Ben, is it?
13:34Let's try something else.
13:35OK.
13:36Hair, hair, on Ben's head.
13:39If you weren't there, what would be there instead?
13:42Would he have bunches?
13:43Would he have a plait?
13:45Would it be bushy?
13:46Or would it be flat?
13:47There we are.
13:51I've drained the water from the pasta.
13:54So now, I'm going to pour our sauce into the middle of a plate.
14:00Nice and slowly.
14:02On it goes.
14:05There we go.
14:08This is going to be our face.
14:11And onto that, I'm going to take our two olives, and I'm going to use those as eyes.
14:18And now, I'll take the pepper for a nice smiley mouth.
14:23I'm going to use two slices of radish to be lovely rosy cheeks.
14:29There we are.
14:31Now, it's time for our dotty hairstyle.
14:34Small, have you decided which hairstyle we're going to go for?
14:37Oh, yes.
14:38Let's give her curly spaghetti hair with a twisty fringe and bows at the side.
14:43Look at you, Small.
14:45That sounds like a great idea.
14:48Now, make sure your hands are nice and clean for this next part.
14:51And make sure your pasta has cooled right down.
14:55On it goes.
14:57Are you okay, Small?
14:59You're very quiet today.
15:01Oh, yes, Ben.
15:01I'm fine.
15:02I'm just trying to find a few hairstyles for you.
15:05There.
15:05Oh, dear.
15:07Ben will definitely not like this hairstyle.
15:09Let's have a think.
15:11Hmm.
15:12I know.
15:13Plats.
15:13Yes, plats.
15:16There we are, Small.
15:17Just like you said.
15:18I've put the spaghetti all the way round the top, nice and curly.
15:22And I've popped the twist just over here at the front to make a lovely fringe.
15:27And I'm going to pop two green bows on either side.
15:31Oh, hey, there.
15:35Do you like my plats?
15:36I don't think they'll suit Ben, though.
15:39One dotty hairstyle ready to eat.
15:41Let's get it off to Harriet the hairdresser.
15:43Right you are, then.
15:45One dotty hairstyle coming through.
15:49Oh.
15:50In it goes.
15:51There we are.
15:54Phew.
15:55All done.
15:57So what do we do now?
15:58Can we play?
15:59Not yet.
16:00Time to clean and put away.
16:02Hooray!
16:02Wash, wipe, scrub and clean.
16:13Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam.
16:18My name's Ben.
16:20And my name's Small.
16:21We've got the cleanest kitchen of all.
16:26Tidy all the bits and bobs.
16:28The things that help us do our jobs.
16:30Ingredients well put away.
16:31Ready for use another day.
16:33Pots and pans will start to smell.
16:35If we don't wash them really well.
16:37And now it's clear.
16:38Let's all smile.
16:39We'll be finished in a little while.
16:41All around.
16:42Up and down.
16:44We've got the cleanest cafe in town.
16:51Phew.
16:52There.
16:54And I think I've decided how I'd like my new hairstyle to be small.
16:57Just like yours.
16:58Oh, that's brilliant, Ben.
17:01Ah-ha.
17:03Here comes the plate.
17:05Oh, yes.
17:06And look.
17:07Harriet the hairdresser has left us a box and a note.
17:11Well, what does it say?
17:12What does it say?
17:13Let's see, shall we?
17:15Over we go.
17:16It says, dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small, my dotty hairstyle was delicious.
17:26I know Ben wanted a change of hairstyle today.
17:28So, to say thank you, I've left you a little present.
17:33With these, you'll be able to have a different hairstyle every day of the week.
17:37Well, have a look, Ben.
17:40Have a look.
17:41Oh, small.
17:42Look.
17:43It's wigs.
17:45Lots and lots of wigs.
17:47Big wigs for me.
17:48Oh-ho-ho.
17:49And small wigs for you.
17:51There you go.
17:53Oh-ho.
17:53Thanks, Ben.
17:54The perfect gift.
17:56Ha-ha.
17:57Hair, hair, on my head.
17:59If you weren't there, what would be there instead?
18:05Oh-ho.
18:06Would it be blonde, the hair on my head?
18:09Or would it be like small's?
18:12Ah.
18:13Lovely and red.
18:15Ha-ha-ha.
18:16Hair, hair, on my head.
18:18If you weren't there, what would be there instead?
18:22Would it be feathered, just like a hen's?
18:25Hee-hee.
18:25Or would it be brown, and short like Ben's?
18:31Ha-ha-ha.
18:32You look great.
18:34Ha-ha-ha.
