00:00I want to start with Zach Eflin with a couple of minutes left in this segment.
00:03Zach Eflin is back with the Baltimore Orioles.
00:05It's a one-year, $10 million deal with a mutual option for 2027.
00:10So Eflin is back, and that rotation as it stands right now in Baltimore
00:15looks like it's going to be Braddish, Boz, Trevor Rodgers, Dean Kramer, Zach Eflin.
00:23Yes or no question.
00:25Job well done with the starting rotation?
00:27What if I tell you I think the job still isn't done?
00:31Yeah, that's a fair answer.
00:33That might be depth.
00:35I think we might be looking at roster resource and considering that Cade Povich
00:40and whoever else was plugged in there at the time,
00:45Tyler Wells was considered in the rotation.
00:50And maybe the Orioles were never even actually considering those guys.
00:52So the Orioles might still be looking at it as we may have one more spot to fill out here.
00:57I just – I don't know.
00:59At that price point too, it just – it kind of screamed depth to me.
01:03I mean, Eflin had a 5-9-3, was banged up last year and threw 71 in the third innings.
01:07Seems like a great bounce back kind of candidate here that I think will give you a little bit more
01:12than a Tyler Wells on the upside.
01:14But I do feel like this was more of just a back-end fill move and they're still not done.
01:20And in that case, it's fine.
01:22It's good.
01:22He's a bounce back guy.
01:24I guess my follow-up would be you think $10 million is depth,
01:28but then I stop myself and I think about the way that Baltimore has spent this offseason already.
01:33Like they pushed a chip in on Grayson Rodriguez to get a guy that flirted with 40 homers last year
01:39and Taylor Ward, a team that is paying Pete Alonzo $150 million is not going to stop at one year $10 million
01:47and say, yeah, that's a guy we want making 32 starts, which is cool because I feel like the last five years
01:54of Baltimore Orioles baseball, we'd be looking at this deal saying, okay, that's their three-starter.
01:58That's their four-starter.
01:59They're paying a mid-level for a mid-level pitcher.
02:01That's what they did with Chagano last year.
02:02That's what they did with others.
02:03But not the case for Baltimore right now, and that's really exciting.
