00:00Let's begin with the Kremlin, says Russia is analyzing U.S. documents on the Ukraine peace deal
00:06and that Putin has sent Christmas wishes to President Donald Trump.
00:11Is this a positive signal that the deadlock in talks could now possibly be broken?
00:17Well, it is very difficult to say whether the deadlock could be broken
00:30without Russia making sure that its red lines are well observed in the documents that is on the table
00:36because at the moment we understand that Moscow is analyzing the proposals
00:41that have been brought by its economic envoy Kirill Dmitry.
00:44Much of those proposals were discussed between him and the American representatives
00:48over the past weekend in Miami.
00:50And according to what we have heard from the Ukrainian leader,
00:54it does seem that Moscow won't be satisfied by some of the provisions of that document.
00:59So Russia says now that the Russian president will be making his assessment
01:04and given what he says, Russia will decide on further steps when it comes to the negotiations.
01:10And obviously, the Russian president sending celebrations on Christmas to the U.S. President Donald Trump
01:17is a positive sign, but that is far from being decisive.
01:20At this stage, we understand that Russia will be making sure that its red lines are well observed
01:27and taken into account.
01:28One important thing to take into consideration here is that Russia is making more gains on the ground.
01:34And that is something that Moscow always reminds of to the Western partners of Kyiv.
01:40And obviously, there are fears in Moscow that the loan that has just recently been given
01:45by the European Union to Kyiv is not something that is designed to bring Kyiv to the negotiating table.
01:51Instead, this is something that encourages the Ukrainians to continue the fighting.
