00:00BIRDS CHIRP
00:07Bit fast, Bob. Go take it easy.
00:10There. Nice.
00:15Erm, two birds.
00:17What?
00:18Pungent. Putrid.
00:20It's beautiful here.
00:21No, your car. What's going on?
00:24Something in the boot.
00:25Shall we...?
00:26Do you want to have a look?
00:27Well, we'll get ready. This is a nice-looking...
00:30Beautiful-looking place, isn't it?
00:32Ted, is this stench anything to do with you?
00:34There you go.
00:35If you already tried to smoke them up.
00:37Oh!
00:38What's that?
00:40It can only be described as a residue.
00:42Oh, my God.
00:46That doesn't smell so bad.
00:47Oh, that's bad.
00:49Really? It's more likely to be...
00:51Get your nose in there.
00:53All right, ready? Go on.
00:54What on earth is that?
00:57It's disgusting.
00:58I'm going to leave that outside.
01:00If we could capture that...
01:01Do you want a sweet, by the way?
01:02No.
01:03Look at this, Bob.
01:04Where do you think you are? Paradise?
01:05Well, I mean, I've never seen the light pole.
01:06There's water everywhere, isn't there?
01:07I know, yeah.
01:08This actually is a water meadow.
01:09And it is fairly pristine.
01:10What makes something a water meadow?
01:11Well, it's kind of the original habitat, really, that the chalk streams ran through.
01:15And really, all this land would be irrigated by the chalk stream.
01:18Look at it, look.
01:19Look at it, look.
01:20This is the river itching.
01:21Right.
01:22Probably the prettiest of the chalk streams.
01:24So you've always wanted to come here, yeah?
01:25I have, yeah.
01:26Well, here you are.
01:27I've never been to this place, and I've always wanted to come to this exact bit.
01:28It's your birthday as well, Paul.
01:29It is.
01:30It's your birthday as well, Paul.
01:31Yeah.
01:32It's a big water everywhere, isn't it?
01:33I know, yeah.
01:34This actually is a water meadow.
01:35What makes something a water meadow?
01:36Well, it's kind of the original habitat, really, that the chalk streams ran through.
01:40And really, all this land would be irrigated by the chalk stream.
01:43Look at it, look.
01:44This is the river itching.
01:45Right.
01:46Probably the prettiest of the chalk streams.
01:48So you've always wanted to come here, yeah?
01:50I have, yeah.
01:51Well, here you are.
01:52I've never been to this place, and I've always wanted to come to this exact bit.
01:55It's your birthday as well, Paul.
01:57It is my birthday today, Bob.
01:59A special birth to treat.
02:00Yeah.
02:05What are we fishing for? Trout, I imagine.
02:07Yep, we are, but wild brown trout.
02:10I would so love to see an itching wild brown trout.
02:13Will you concentrate?
02:14I will try it.
02:15Good luck, sir.
02:17Can I step straight down?
02:19Well, you can, yeah.
02:20Seems not that bad, is it?
02:21Not that bad at all.
02:22Yeah.
02:23Lovely.
02:25Pull.
02:26Give me a little lesson.
02:27I always forget.
02:28You see some little fish starting around there?
02:32Do you want me to run through the tackle in 26 seconds?
02:35Less than.
02:36Go on, do it.
02:37Tell me about fly fishing.
02:38Nine foot, four weight, carbon fibre rod.
02:41Real.
02:42Floating line.
02:43You can see it's a plastic technology.
02:45That floats.
02:46That carries the weight that loads the rod.
02:48Attached to that is normal fishing line.
02:51Very thin, thin, thin, tiny, tiny, tiny.
02:54To dry fly.
02:56In this case, a parachute Adam's clink hammer.
03:00Say that.
03:0226 seconds.
03:03Are you happy?
03:04I am very happy.
03:05Are you happy with what you said?
03:06I think it was really good.
03:07And tell me, is there just trout in here?
03:09Grayling, trout.
03:10I saw a little shoulder fish there.
03:12It could have been small grayling.
03:13There might be some dace in here.
03:15I've caught some big grayling out of the lower itching.
03:17You've got some big grayling.
03:19Really big buns.
03:22So there's grayling, yeah?
03:29Show me how to cast a pole.
03:36OK.
03:37You should have seen this grayling that said that would be.
03:41Everyone clapped.
03:44There was nobody else there, Bob.
03:46I don't need validation.
03:48Can you see that fly all right?
03:52Yeah.
03:53I see him.
03:54OK.
03:55And the fish are facing...
03:56Facing upstream.
03:57They're always sort of wary.
03:58They've got to be wary, haven't they?
04:00Don't need to cast too far.
04:02See, like that.
04:03And then you keep in touch with it.
04:04You don't want to be dragging the fly,
04:06but any sort of unnatural drag,
04:09and the fish will turn away.
04:11Unless it's something like a big mayfly
04:13that's got an impetus
04:14and sometimes does skit across the surface,
04:17but they're not...
04:18They're not on the mayfly yet.
04:20I haven't seen a mayfly.
04:22I saw one come off, Oliver.
04:23They'll come off more later in the day,
04:25and then the fish...
04:26The evening is the best time, Bob.
04:28You know, you said...
04:29Because it is for everything.
04:30Like having Malibu.
04:32Exactly.
04:33Evening boo, darling.
04:35An evening boo.
04:36Where would we be without our evening boo, darling?
04:39SPLASH OF SODA WITH YOUR BOO, DARLING?
04:44No, I like it neat.
04:45Those chops were lovely, weren't they?
04:46There you go.
04:59So, just that, alright?
05:01Yeah, I've been watching.
05:03I think I went for...
05:04Ah!
05:05Ah!
05:06Yeah, you got me.
05:07First cast, you got me, Bob.
05:08Well, why were you stood there?
05:09Well, out of the line of fire, I thought.
05:12Morning.
05:13Have you got your sunglasses on, Bob?
05:16Yep.
05:17You should be wearing sunglasses
05:18when you're casting a fly like this.
05:20Alright, go on.
05:23Yeah, not bad.
05:24No, it's not great, Paul.
05:25It's not bad.
05:26There's a mayfly coming off, look.
05:31It's not bad as well.
05:32See?
05:40We're gonna walk up a bit, maybe try with a nymph.
05:42That's it.
06:01That's it.
06:03Come on, you bums.
06:18Nope.
06:20Ooh.
06:22Yep.
06:23You in?
06:24Yep.
06:25Good fish.
06:27Yep.
06:28Good fish.
06:30Yep. Good fish.
06:32Is it trout? I think so, yeah.
06:34Nice, wild trout.
06:36Actually, I'm not sure why it's fighting, but I think it might be a grayling.
06:40That's a grayling, isn't it? I haven't seen him yet.
06:44Yeah, it's grayling. They're so strong.
06:47Can't they?
06:49Got him. Well done, Bob.
06:53Well, that was a nice session.
06:55God, look at that. Not actually in season, but what a lovely accident, eh?
06:59What a powerful fish. Look at that. Look at this fin.
07:03Lilac and pink. The most beautiful fish.
07:07Probably that swims in our waters. Incredible.
07:11There we go. Go on, then.
07:14And away he goes. That's a birthday treat for you, Bob.
07:18What? I didn't think of that. Of course it is, eh?
07:20What a birthday treat. Yeah.
07:21Yeah, that's the biggest grayling I've seen by a long, long way.
07:24Yeah.
07:25I know you've got big graylings, but yeah.
07:28No, but the itching has served me well for grilling.
07:30Yeah.
07:31Thank you, itching. How beautiful.
07:33Well done. Let's have a copper, yeah?
07:35Yeah. Lovely.
07:46Hey, look at the... Can you see the light playing on that tree trunk over there?
07:49Yeah.
07:50Lovely, isn't it?
07:51Lovely, isn't it?
07:53And that one there, look at that.
07:54Oh, that's a cracker, isn't it?
07:55It's a light shower, isn't it?
07:56Nice one.
07:57Yeah.
07:59Good spot.
08:01Can you hold that?
08:02Because I've got to be honest with you, Paul, you know my rather sweaty bag?
08:05Yeah.
08:06My...
08:07Yeah.
08:08This sugar has spilt, so I'm having to pick it out of my bag.
08:12What, granule by granule?
08:13Yeah, literally.
08:16Here we are in this bucolic heaven and you're...
08:18Do you do any jogging, Paul?
08:27I don't, Bob, I try...
08:29Do you know, I did a little bit of an inadvertent, accidental jogging
08:32with the dog the other day and I thought, my jogging days are over.
08:35They're over.
08:36I could do exercise for quite a long time, but low impact.
08:39Bike, cross trainer, but, you know.
08:42I, erm...
08:43I like jogging me jeans just in me clothes.
08:46If I go out for a run, I'm not going to get gear on and all that.
08:50It's just as good for your running, even if you haven't got sports gear on.
08:54Well, yeah, of course it is.
08:55Yeah.
08:56You don't have to wear sports gear.
08:58Yeah.
08:59It's just...
09:00It works just as well.
09:01Just in your jeans or in a nice top, in a blouse or something.
09:05Or a full, erm...
09:07DJ.
09:09Morning.
09:10What I'm saying, Paul...
09:11Yes, I know what you're saying.
09:13But you...
09:14It works just as well.
09:15You don't have to have lycra.
09:17No, you don't.
09:18And stripy...
09:19But you try stretching in jeans.
09:21I'm not going stretching.
09:22I'm going jogging.
09:23Yeah, but after you're jogging, I hope you stretch.
09:25No, I've never stretched in my life.
09:27Oh, I have leant up really high, cos I can...
09:29Yeah, you like to go up high, don't you?
09:31No, my top cabinet has got me ringos and me watsits.
09:34So I have to reach up to that.
09:37Right.
09:41Very nice.
09:42I've enjoyed that cup of tea, Paul.
09:43Mm.
09:44Shall we fish on, try and get a brown trout?
09:45Yeah, definitely.
09:46Let's do it.
09:50Go on, then.
09:51Walk out here a bit further.
10:06And try a couple of casts under the tree.
10:08And with these trout, you can probably keep the line a bit even tighter, you know?
10:12Nice cast, Bob.
10:17You've got to be quicker than that with the line, though.
10:19OK.
10:21And if you see the line move back upstream, that's when you get to strike, all right?
10:25That's nice.
10:33There's a decent trout out there, but that's not far from it.
10:35He's turned around and got it.
10:36He's got it!
10:37Strike!
10:38Argh!
10:39He didn't up it.
10:40He...
10:41Well, he did.
10:42No.
10:43Sorry, Paul.
10:44Saw his mouth open, grabbed it.
10:46Oh, I suppose you saw him say, mmm, lovely.
10:48Yeah.
10:50I actually did, believe it or not.
11:00You OK?
11:01Yeah, I think so.
11:06Do you like watching me fish?
11:07Yeah, yeah.
11:08You can learn, can't you?
11:09Yeah.
11:12Some of the stuff I'm doing is very advanced.
11:14It's very subtle.
11:15Yeah.
11:16It's...
11:17You'd almost think...
11:18I don't know what he's doing, that bloke.
11:21Oh, there's a fish over there, Paul.
11:23Right, we'll cast to it.
11:30I'm in.
11:31You're in?
11:32He's in.
11:33Yes!
11:34You see that?
11:35Yes!
11:36Well done, Bobby.
11:37He's gone.
11:38Right.
11:39What?
11:40He's gone.
11:41You screaming.
11:46I love the way you blame me for that.
11:53Come on, Bob.
11:54Whoa, whoa, whoa!
11:55Whoa, whoa, whoa!
11:56Whoa, whoa, whoa!
11:57Look at that!
11:58Check it out!
11:59Look at him gone, as you would say.
12:03We've got a lovely accommodation, Paul.
12:05Have we?
12:06Yeah.
12:07It's got like a bonus factor that I think will appeal to you.
12:10OK.
12:12Come, Ted.
12:13Oh, he's looking older than us.
12:15Good boy.
12:25It's like being on Escape to the Country, isn't it, Paul?
12:27It is a bit, isn't it?
12:28And what's our budget?
12:32You probably watch it religiously, don't you?
12:34I have never missed an episode.
12:36Ha, ha, ha, ha!
12:43I think you're going to like it.
12:45Ooh!
12:46Riverside Lodge.
12:47I think I'd call it Pondside.
12:49The River Avon.
12:50It's just there.
12:51It's just there.
12:52Just there.
12:53And this is a pond.
12:55Yeah.
12:56It is a pond.
12:57But it's full of fish.
12:58Is it?
12:59So we could have, see the veranda there?
13:00Yeah.
13:01We could have a little fish and some beer.
13:02OK.
13:03Lovely.
13:04Ted's arriving in style, isn't he?
13:05Absolutely knackered.
13:06Ha, ha!
13:07He's had a long day in the sun.
13:14What a beauty!
13:17This is great, isn't it?
13:22This is an amazing adventure for Ted now, looking out of these ducks.
13:25Because he's nearly our age, you know.
13:2763 he is.
13:28Ted?
13:29He's probably ageing better than us.
13:31Shut up!
13:32They're scared of him, look.
13:34There's bread there and they're not coming to get it.
13:36It's Ted.
13:37I think I probably have aged better than you, Paul.
13:40What do you say to that?
13:41I don't think so, Paul.
13:42No?
13:43No.
13:44I think I'm assisted by my big fat head.
13:47Maybe I'm a bit more gaunt and wrinkly.
13:49I've done those exercises all my life.
13:53Yeah.
13:56Are you doing your Robert De Niro?
13:57No.
13:58Without your new teeth.
13:59Yeah, excellent.
14:00Where did you get them done?
14:01Dentist.
14:02Yeah, but where?
14:03Turkey?
14:04No.
14:05Local.
14:06Turkey teeth, yeah.
14:07What did you ask for?
14:08Can I have some teeth that work?
14:10Listen.
14:15That's how you do that.
14:16Can you do that with your teeth?
14:18No, because they'd crumble, wouldn't they?
14:20They'd crumble like an Edinburgh rock.
14:23Bob.
14:24Yeah?
14:25Look at this exquisite creature, look.
14:26You've got a Mayflower on your back there, Paul.
14:28Have I?
14:29Yeah.
14:30It'd be nice if that Mayflower and that Mayflower met, wouldn't it?
14:34Oh, I see what you mean, yeah.
14:36I know you're out of the game now, but if you were being a bit flirty,
14:40show us your flirty face.
14:42Would you like me to be the lady?
14:43Yeah, go on then.
14:44Hi.
14:45No, no, you don't know I'm coming yet.
14:47You're just sitting there.
14:48Oh, I'm just sat here like a lady.
14:49Look over this way, right, and then suddenly watch this.
14:55What's your name?
14:56It doesn't matter.
14:57It doesn't matter.
14:58It doesn't matter.
14:59It doesn't matter.
15:00It doesn't matter.
15:02I'll take what it is you've got.
15:03Right, go on, now you, I'll be the lady, right?
15:05Oh, this is so lovely.
15:07I love these colours of the flowers, don't you?
15:10Oh.
15:11Oh.
15:12Hello.
15:13Officer!
15:14Happy birthday, Paul.
15:15Thanks, Bob.
15:16Cheers.
15:17Cheers to you.
15:18Happy birthday, Paul.
15:19Thanks, Bob.
15:20Cheers.
15:21Cheers to you.
15:22Cheers to you.
15:23Cheers to you.
15:24Cheers to you.
15:26Cheers to you.
15:30Sixty-seven.
15:52It's going to brighten up later, Paul.
16:01It's supposed to brighten up later, Bob.
16:02So we can slowly make our way at the river.
16:05We might meet a friend of mine called Jim Murray.
16:08He's trying to save the chalk stream salmon.
16:11The numbers have declined, like, incredibly.
16:13It just drops off the scale.
16:15And he's campaigning and shouting about it.
16:18He's slightly too handsome for my liking.
16:20I don't like the sound of that.
16:22No.
16:23How was your health, by the way?
16:24I should have.
16:25I haven't seen you for a bit.
16:26Pretty good, Bob.
16:27You know, I've got...
16:28There's a real problem, is my foot.
16:30My left foot.
16:31I've got orthotics in the old slip-ons.
16:33Yeah.
16:34And they help a bit.
16:35And how are you at the moment, Bob?
16:36You always claim that you're in rude, good health.
16:39Not bad.
16:40Shingles still lingering?
16:41Shingle lingle.
16:42From beyond the grave.
16:43Yeah, it's messed up my muscles in my leg, but...
16:46Yeah.
16:47You know, you have to have an attitude of gratitude, don't you?
16:49It could be so much worse.
16:50That's true, actually.
16:51I mean, look at your face.
16:53You've got to look at that every morning.
16:55Yeah.
16:56Jeez.
16:57I mean, you've...
16:58At least you've enhanced your teeth, haven't you?
17:02Hey, have you seen how long they are?
17:04Oh, no!
17:05It's quite something, isn't it?
17:07LAUGHTER
17:08Come on, we'll leave the mayfly to fend for itself.
17:14Yep.
17:15Get down to the river.
17:16Yeah.
17:17Come, Ted.
17:18Come on, Ted, we're going this way.
17:32I'll get that wild brown trout, don't you worry.
17:34Well, you know, this is the kind of crucible of Victorian and Edwardian heated debate about
17:41fly fishing, Bob.
17:42What was the crux of the debate?
17:44Whether tis nobler to use the dry fly or the nymph.
17:47What do you reckon?
17:48Well, I can't do the dry fly, so I'd like to use whichever method catches a fish, you know?
17:53Oh, exactly.
17:54It was a silly debate that they had.
18:04Why don't we start here and we can work our way out.
18:07I can't see any rises, so get out a little bit and try to sort of upstream but sort of
18:15towards it.
18:16Just remember to check behind you as you cast.
18:19Just keep in touch with it, watch the indicator.
18:21That's great.
18:22Leave that there.
18:23OK.
18:36Oh.
18:37Oh, that's out of present.
18:38Don't touch it.
18:39Let's leave that.
18:40Oh.
18:41Well, mate, I thought you'd get something there.
18:46Hey, boss.
18:47You have a go, sir.
18:48Right.
18:49I suppose Ted's out, boss, isn't he?
18:50He is, isn't he?
18:51Well, he thinks he is.
18:52I'm surprised we haven't had a single tug, Bob.
18:53It's frustrating, isn't it?
18:54It's difficult, difficult, difficult.
18:55It is.
18:56It is.
18:57It is.
18:58It is.
18:59It is.
19:00It is.
19:01It is.
19:02All right, nothing doing here.
19:03I need it.
19:04I have to be done.
19:05I'm surprised we haven't had a single tug, Bob.
19:10It's frustrating, isn't it?
19:11It's difficult, difficult, difficult.
19:12It's frustrating, isn't it?
19:13Just difficult, difficult, difficult.
19:14It is.
19:15All right, nothing doing here.
19:33I'm going to go for a wander, see if I can find Jim Murray,
19:36the guy I was telling you about, right?
19:38Oh, yeah, you're all over him, aren't you?
19:39Yeah. He's better looking than you, mate.
19:42I don't think so.
19:43I think you're fine, he is.
19:46Catch you later.
19:59Medjip?
20:00I'm Mr Whitehouse.
20:02Come and join me.
20:04Look at him, he looks handsome even from here.
20:06I hate him.
20:10Hello, Paul.
20:11Yeah, you do well there. A good bit of workout for the quads, isn't it, mate?
20:14Yeah.
20:15Lovely.
20:16Join me.
20:17All right, well, nice to see you, Jim, and this is your manor.
20:21This is my manor.
20:22Oh, look at his hair.
20:23I know.
20:24Oh, could I have some of that?
20:26Just a few.
20:27So, Jim, we know you from the Crown and Masters of the Air.
20:34I mean, I know you as a...
20:36As a fisherman.
20:37That wasn't quite what I was going to say.
20:39Yes, as an angler, fellow angler, but also in recent years as an activist angler.
20:46Yeah.
20:47So, the Chalkstream salmon, as you know, but many don't, are very, very rare and very depleted.
20:53Yeah.
20:54So, Project Whiteheart is a brand new salmon restoration campaign across both the flagship
20:59Chalkstreams, a test in the itching.
21:01And we are conducting a huge audit to find out exactly what the problems are for the salmon,
21:06which will take 12 to 18 months.
21:08We're fronting up to try and bring them back.
21:11Only 133 came over the counter last year on the itching, which is unsustainable.
21:15I mean, I know it's a controversial area because it's so...
21:18The salmon is so specific to its natal river, isn't it?
21:22It has to come back to the river of its birth.
21:25So, why can't you just use the indigenous stock from the itching,
21:29grow those on until they're fried and release them into the river?
21:31Well, so, recently I've learned that you can't...
21:34If you just took eggs from a salmon that came into the itching,
21:36that salmon might be a salmon that spawns a quarter of a mile upriver.
21:41Right.
21:41And if you then put that salmon back here, you're going to mess with the...
21:46Really?
21:47Yeah.
21:47That specific?
21:48You've got to be really careful when you mess with nature.
21:59Come on, man.
22:02Oh!
22:02Oh!
22:06Do you hold out hopes for, you know, of success for the salmon?
22:13Well...
22:13Because they're in decline everywhere.
22:15So, you know, I think you do need some radical action.
22:18Well, I would call this radical action because before this,
22:21no one was really doing anything.
22:23And I think once we get the order and the results in,
22:25it might well be that we do some stocking.
22:28Right.
22:28There's no point in going in head first, hand fisted,
22:31until we know exactly what the problem is.
22:33How long will it take to get them back to sustainability?
22:35Can we do it?
22:36What I do know is that the salmon will be here long after we're gone.
22:39Well, I hope so, mate.
22:43Where does that passion of yours come from?
22:45For me, the reason why I want to give back to the rivers
22:49is because my wife and I lost our first child, Ella Jane,
22:53to a congenital heart disease in 2009.
22:58And the only way I could get over that,
23:00the only thing that helped me, was fishing and being in rivers.
23:07Some people have therapy, some people talk to friends.
23:10Some people see this as heaven.
23:12This was my church.
23:15I know that sounds a bit woo, but it worked for me.
23:18Fair play, mate.
23:19So it helped me, so I want to give back, I guess.
23:22Yeah.
23:36So you told him this should stock up salmon in here, didn't you?
23:39Yeah, I did, yeah.
23:40What a peasant.
23:41Well, no, he does think we need to stock salmon,
23:43but there needs to be certain...
23:44Who are you, Trump?
23:45You think it's as simple as that?
23:47Just put salmon in there.
23:49Why not put salmon in the river?
23:51If there are only salmon in the river, simple equation,
23:54put the salmon in the river.
23:55Just go to the fishmongers, put some salmon in the river.
23:59Put the salmon in the river, job done.
24:01That's you, isn't it?
24:01Yeah.
24:03Oh, big cloud over there, Paul.
24:05We could be in trouble.
24:05Yeah, it does look a bit ominous, doesn't it?
24:07Still, it won't stop us.
24:09Come on in, mate.
24:09Last chance, so long.
24:11I'm going to try with the dry, all right?
24:13Yep, go on.
24:14Do you know what to do?
24:15Well, I do.
24:17I'll do one cast, you'll grab it off me and say,
24:19no, you do it like this.
24:21Then I'll still do it exactly the same way.
24:22You got some fly line out?
24:23Yes.
24:24Yep.
24:24You're right.
24:24This cast straight out now.
24:26Slightly upstream, maybe.
24:27That's a cracker.
24:31Let it go.
24:31Come on, come on.
24:32Come on.
24:32Come on.
24:33Come on.
24:33Whoa.
24:34Come on.
24:35Can you see any?
24:37Yeah, I think there's a couple there.
24:38But now, you watch, you'll see it start to drag.
24:41And that's the end.
24:41And that's sort of the end, yeah.
24:45That's a lovely cast.
24:47What a great cast.
24:48Oh, come on.
24:49Come on.
24:51Planet of the Apes angling game.
24:55Come on.
24:56Come on.
24:56Come on, come on, come on, come on.
24:58You know you want it.
24:59You know you want it.
25:01Keep your tip down, Bob.
25:04Right.
25:05Let it go.
25:06Let it go down.
25:09OK, we're going to change the fly, all right?
25:16Bit of rain, Paul.
25:18Yeah, what do you want to do?
25:20Fish on.
25:21You know, we really can't fish on if there's lightning, Bob.
25:24Right, come here.
25:28Give me that.
25:30Here we go.
25:31Is this the one?
25:32I don't know.
25:32Oh, come on, you boater.
25:43That's nice.
25:47Yes, he's in.
25:48Good lad.
25:49No, don't.
25:50No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
25:51No, no, no, no.
25:51Let it go.
25:52Let it go.
25:52Let it go.
25:53Let it go.
25:54Let it go.
25:55Let's walk it down here.
25:56Did you see that, Paul?
25:57I did, mate, yeah.
25:59How did you see it?
26:00I was too quick.
26:03Concentrate on what you're doing.
26:04I'm going to lose it.
26:05Keep in touch, will you?
26:06For God, look at the state of your reel.
26:09I've got it under control, Paul.
26:10Yeah, but look at your line on your reel, mate.
26:12Yeah, that's a mess.
26:14Do not wind.
26:15Do not wind, Bob.
26:17I'm not winding.
26:18I'm just charging up the reel.
26:20You just don't understand my generation.
26:23We do it differently.
26:23Dear me.
26:25Oh, it's a big lad.
26:27Don't hold on to that line.
26:29What am I doing?
26:30Nothing.
26:31Can you lift the rod up?
26:33Can't you just say, well done, you're doing this very nice thing?
26:35Come on, yeah, you're doing really well.
26:36Encourage you, young man.
26:38Incredible.
26:38It's like you've got a 22 pound salmon on.
26:40Stop winding.
26:42Right, come on.
26:43Gradually bring it across.
26:44It'll probably dash for freedom as it sees the net and we'll lose it, but...
26:48We're not losing fish today, Paul.
26:50Oh, okay, Bobby.
26:52I admire your confidence.
26:53Come on.
26:54Come on.
26:55Come on, then.
26:56Come on.
26:57Come on.
26:57Come on, come on, come on.
26:58Yeah.
27:00Yay!
27:01Bang-a-bang!
27:03Hey!
27:05Don't...
27:08I can't fit a dick.
27:13Oh, dear.
27:14The angling world is mocking us.
27:16Come on.
27:17Yeah.
27:18I've got you.
27:19Right.
27:20Let's see this beautiful fish, shall we, Bob?
27:22Oh.
27:22Look at that.
27:25Look at that.
27:25Beautiful wild.
27:27Golden.
27:27Look at the reds.
27:28Yeah, and can you see that little lilac stripe as well?
27:30Yeah, it's this beauty.
27:32Yeah.
27:32On a dry mayfly.
27:34It's a lovely fish, lovely wild trout.
27:35Look at that.
27:36Right, let's get him back, Paul.
27:38There.
27:39There we go.
27:40Get your bearings.
27:41Come on, beautiful.
27:43And away!
27:46Oh, thank you, Mr. Thank you, Paul.
27:48My first wild brown trout on a dry fly.
27:52Day before my birthday.
27:53God, that's a present, isn't it?
27:55Good as a thank you.
27:56Come on, sir.
27:57Thank you, sir.
27:58And away to the pub for us, I think, can't you?
28:01Give us a shove.
28:02Go on, then.
28:05Come on, then.
28:09Wow, look at that.
28:10A double rainbow, Bob.
28:12They've come out to celebrate my live trout.
28:14That's true.
28:15Yeah, either that or it's like refracting through the rainbox, Bob.
28:18Yeah.
28:19Yeah, could be.
28:20Yeah, could be that.
28:20Doubts.
28:21Thank you for that, and thank you for bringing me here, Paul.
28:23My pleasure.
28:25Rainbows to go.
28:26Rainbows to go.
28:27I could feel at the time
28:31There was nowhere knowing
28:34For the leaves in the night
28:38Who can't say when they're glowing
28:42As free as the wind
28:46Hopefully learning
28:49Why the sea on the side
28:54Is nowhere to turn
28:57More than that
29:02You know that
