00:00But you, Bethlehem, Ephrata, though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
00:03yet you shall come forth to me, the one to be ruler in Israel,
00:07whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.
00:11So that prophecy tells you something not just about his birth, but about his origins.
00:16It says you're going to come from, it says in the Hebrew,
00:19which means from the east, which also means from the sunrise,
00:23which is a kind of metaphor, which means from earliest times, from of old.
00:27And you only have the phrase which says,
00:30mimei olam, from the days of eternity, from ancient times.
00:35It tells you something very interesting there.
00:36It tells you that this one is going to be born in Bethlehem,
00:38it has its origins in the days of eternity.
00:42And the word olam is the word which is used for either ancient times or olam,
00:47meaning God's existence.
00:49In the Psalms it says God's existence is me olam ve'ad olam, from eternity to eternity.
