00:00In the Unaw rape case, BJP's former MLA Kuldeep Singh Senghar serving a life sentence has been
00:06granted bail by the Delhi High Court. The court has suspended his sentence till the hearing of
00:10his appeal, allowing him temporary release under strict conditions. The victim, present outside
00:16the court, expressed fear for her family's safety, saying her father was murdered and attempts were
00:22made to kill her entire family. The High Court imposed four conditions. Senghar will not leave
00:27Delhi, must stay at least five kilometers away from the victim, report to the nearest police
00:33station every Monday, surrender his passport and face cancellation of bail if any condition is
00:39violated. Kuldeep Senghar, a powerful politician, won elections from different parties since 2002
00:45and later joined the BJP in 2017. The victim accused him of raping her on the 4th of June 2017 when she
00:52went to his house seeking a job. After struggling to register a case, her father was beaten and
00:57jailed by Senghar's brother and later died in custody. In 2019, a truck hit the victim's car,
01:02killing her aunts and injuring her and her lawyer. The Supreme Court transferred the case to Delhi
01:07and in December 2019, Senghar was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with a 25 lakh fine.
