00:00All right, today's video is on the Spectrum Remote Control, the multi or it's got the
00:15auxiliary DVD, VCR, TV and cable. So all I'm going to do today is set up myself because
00:26we needed a new one. We're going for the TV VCR. And so first thing is write down what you
00:38have. And we're going to start with the three digit code method because you could do the
00:48scan thing. It's supposed to be easier, but it didn't work for me. So I'm just going to
00:54do this one to make the video shorter. First TV is an RCA. And I already found out my code
01:07is, let's see here, go down here and you're going to have to try each code too. RCA. So
01:19luckily the very first code, and you can't see that, but that's, for me it's 333. But
01:26anyhow, so write that down big enough where you can see it. And my VCR code, you can see
01:36I have five here was 817, the very last one I tried. So when I first got the remote, you
01:50put the batteries in and all, but if you, you don't get that little blink when you hold the
01:59OK select and the VCR or the TV, if you don't get that after three seconds, see how it stays
02:12on. Um, I would just take the battery out, one of the batteries, put it back in and you're
02:19resetting the remote. All right, so let's go try out the TV. So here it is the three digit
02:28code setup. Turn on the equipment that you want, the remote control to operate, cable
02:36box TV, VCR, DVD, etc. So turn that, uh, it has to be on, then press the device button and
02:47OK select simultaneously. So both at the same time for three seconds, the corresponding device
02:55LED will turn on, indicating that it is ready to be programmed. The LED will be main on for 30 seconds.
03:05The next step must be entered while the LED is on. So you have the 30 seconds and you can try, uh, one
03:13we'll show you right now. Another thing here is I'm going to show you the light. Hold that for three
03:19seconds. It stays on. So first we're going to start with the TV. You're going to take the TV and the OK
03:30select, hold it down for three seconds. Simple as that. The others are just glowing. I can see on the
03:40video, but the TV, the brightest one is right there. It's, it's all ready to be programmed. So before it
03:48goes out, we're going to try the top one, three, three, three, until it shuts off. So there's the TV
03:59and I didn't press any OK select button. Let's get that light going again. I guess I didn't turn it
04:08down. It should get a blink or something. OK, it shut off. OK, so you have to hit the light every time on this
04:23one. If you held it down on the old remote, I'll show you. If you have this one, you watch, hold it down.
04:31And then that blinked. See, so now every time you touch a button, if you have this remote, see the light
04:44comes on. And then you hold in the light button in until it blinks. And now it's off. All right, so we'll
04:55move on to the VCR. So right here is 817 is the one that'll work. And this is a Toshiba. So 817 tried them
05:15all. There you see my VCR is on. I held down the OK and the VCR button. Now we're going to type in 817.
05:32And it shut off. And then we're going to double check it, turn it back on. Now we can press the play
05:51button. You can see right there. It says play. This will also up the volume on the TV and shut it on and off
06:11and stop it. If it doesn't do everything, don't worry about it. Maybe try another number.
06:21But as long as you can play and stop and the important ones, then it might be too old to do
06:30anything else. Okay, thanks for watching. And remember, hit that VCR button right after it shuts
06:40off if it works. That'll store the code in memory. Take care.
