00:00Hello and welcome. Good evening. You're watching Super 6 here on India Today. I'm Akshita Nanda
00:05Gopalo. The next one hour will be focusing on the big headlines emerging from the southern
00:10states. So let's begin with a quick glimpse of what to expect on the show. We'll be putting the
00:15focus on Vijay's big rally in E-Road, in Tamil Nadu. Why E-Road? Well, because it's a pitch,
00:22a periyar pitch that Vijay has been making. He's also, of course, kicked a viral selfie video.
00:28But does that necessarily translate to votes? We'll be talking about that on this edition of
00:33Super 6. Also coming up on the show, we'll be focusing at 6.30 p.m. on what's happened to the
00:38Karnataka Assembly, where the hate speech bill has passed the Assembly test amid huge ruckus in the
00:44Karnataka Assembly. What that means is now a crime identified as hate speech is a non-bailable offence
00:51in the state of Karnataka.
00:52So those two stories are much more coming your way. Here are the top 10 headlines.
01:02Jiramji, bill passed in Lok Sabha amid ruckus. Opposition MPs tear up the bill, throw it at
01:09Treasury bench. Shivraj Singh tears into opposition, says Gandhiji's ideology is being murdered in
01:15parliament. Next is the Rajasaba test. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee decides to change
01:23the name of Karma Shri project to Mahatma Gandhi project in protest of central removing Mahatma
01:28Gandhi name from the Mahatma Gandhi and Reka.
01:30And as a result of the ruckus over the Jiramji bill, there is no pollution debate in parliament
01:40today as well. Unruly opposition forces suspension of House Speaker cancels pollution debate, slams
01:46the opposition. Vijay tears into DMK in his E-Road rally, says DMK is an evil force and TVK a clean
01:55force invokes Periyar in his address. Karnataka Legislative Assembly passes Hate Speech and Hate
02:04Crimes Prevention Bill 2025 amidst strong protests from the opposition leading to repeated disruptions
02:10in the House. The spotlight is again on the power tassel in Karnataka. More than 30 seers from the
02:18Lingayat Vokkaliga backward classes and Dalit Mats hold crucial meeting in Tumakuru demanding that
02:24Home Minister, Dr. Ji Parameshwar, we meet the Chief Minister.
02:30Chaos briefly mars promotional event in Hyderabad as actress Nidhi Agarwal was mobbed by fans during
02:37a song launch for her upcoming film, The Raja Sahab with Prabhas. These videos have gone viral. The
02:42actress struggling to make it out of their safely being jostled amid the crowd.
02:47Prime Minister Modi has been conferred with the highest civilian honor of Oman by Sultan
02:56Hedem bin Tariq for his contributions to strengthening bilateral ties.
03:02Close-up photos of top White House officials were featured in a bombshell Vanity Fair article this
03:08week. The images included White House Chief of Staff Susi Viles, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt,
03:12Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and others and the pictures have since been
03:18widely trolled online with some users calling them ugly. An anti-India protest erupted in Bangladesh
03:26with demonstrators marching towards the Indian diplomatic missions and demanding the return
03:31of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
03:38Okay, as promised, let's get you all of the highlights, the action from Vijay's mega rally
03:43today. It happened in E-Road in Tamil Nadu. Of course, huge crowds that came together. There
03:47were a lot of restrictions in place, keeping in mind what had happened in Karoor. But let's tell
03:52you exactly what the TVK chief said. Remember that the reason he chose E-Road is because this
03:57is Periyar's birthplace. And so there were repeated mentions of Periyar, once again an indication
04:03that Vijay is trying to eat into the Dravidian Vote Bank. But he also went on to keep his harshest
04:09criticism for the DMK, saying that they are carrying out scams in Periyar's name, saying that they spread
04:16hate and also have failed to fulfill any of their promises. Let's get you some of those highlights
04:22first. Fan frenzy. Mammoth crowds. Fiery attacks against the DMK.
04:45And the iconic Senghor. That pretty much sums up Talapati's mega rally in E-Road.
05:05TVK chief Vijay held a high-voltage rally, marking his first public meeting in Tamil Nadu. Since the
05:12tragic Karoor stampede in September this year that claimed 41 lives. Fans were so excited that some
05:28ran behind his car just to catch a glimpse of him. And Vijay did not disappoint. He posted a selfie video
05:36capturing the roaring crowd, waving and cheering for their favorite star-turned politician.
05:46But it wasn't just glitz and glamour. Vijay launched a scathing attack on the DMK,
05:51calling it an evil force while positioning TVK as the clean alternative.
05:58He accused DMK of fake promises, scams in Periyar's name and failing Tamil Nadu's farmers.
06:06DMK hit back, saying Vijay has no ideology except the ambition to become chief minister.
06:26Adding to the drama, Vijay welcomed former AIADMK leader Senghotian into TVK, who presented him
06:36with a Sengol, a symbol of authority and tradition. And Vijay hinted many more leaders could follow.
06:43The Erod rally carried strong political symbolism as Vijay addressed the gathering from Periyar's
06:56birthplace, invoking the legacy of the Dravidian icon. TVK even released an AI-generated video of
07:05Vijay with Periyar, sending a clear ideological message to the crowds.
07:13This electrifying rally comes just before Talapati Vijay's farewell film,
07:18Jananayagan, marking the countdown to his final leap from the silver screen to the political stage.
07:24We are really happy. The amount of love people have showered upon our leader is really truly amazing.
07:35It was a real festive atmosphere here. People were strong in the field right from early morning,
07:43and nearly more than 50,000 people gathered. And it has turned out to be a huge success. And this will be
07:48a turning point in this political season, in this election season of Tamil Nadu.
07:55With fiery speeches, fan frenzy, and leaders joining TVK, Vijay's Erod rally clearly sets the stage
08:04for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly post. All eyes will be on how this momentum shapes the political battle
08:11in the months ahead. And let's get you all of the reactions that have been coming into Vijay's rally.
08:29Vijay, remember, has been targeting the DMK, but he did, he did make a mention of, in fact,
08:36Jay Lalitha in his speech. And that's led to a lot of eyebrows being raised as well about what his
08:43intention really was by raising and raking up Jay Lalitha. The AIADMK is also now responded,
08:48saying that TVK and Vijay is trying very hard to be an AIADMK. Meanwhile, Udenity Stalin was asked about
08:56Vijay's statements, and he maintains that Vijay is making false and baseless claims.
09:06Vijay's rally today gives an impression that Vijay and his
09:35party are desperate to impersonate AIADMK, its founder leaders. If such being the case,
09:45a newly founded party which cannot promote its ideology, nor it is able to give any key takeaways,
09:52like how he is going to face the upcoming elections. All matters is impersonation of AIADMK,
09:58which they feel it is their biggest achievement at the moment.
10:04Okay, so the AIADMK saying, TVK Vijay is trying to impersonate the AIADMK. On the other hand,
10:10Udenity Stalin saying very clearly that he is making false, baseless charges.
10:15Let's bring in our panelists, our political panel this evening. We've got Tenmuri Prasanna,
10:20spokesperson of the TVK, Shekhar Iyer, senior journalist, and Dhani Dharan,
10:24spokesperson of the Draveda Munitra Kargam. Good evening, Vanakam to all of you. Mr. Shekhar Iyer,
10:29opening comments from you first. What did you make, sir, of Vijay's speech,
10:33of the location he chose, the mention of Periyar, the mention of Jay Lalitha?
10:37Well, today was the, I would call the first big attempt to seize back the initiative and momentum
10:47that had suffered very much after the Karun tragedy. So all we saw today was a lot of optics
10:55to send across the message that the battle is again between DMK and his fledgling party,
11:01number one. Number two, he defended his bid to adopt the legacy or appropriate the legacy of MGR,
11:10Arna Dure, as well as Periyar, saying that they don't belong to any particular party or any particular
11:16group. That is second. And the third thing is, he was very, very mild on BJP.
11:23This is the first rally, I would say, in Tamil Nadu, where he did not mention Prime Minister Modi.
11:28He only said, you know, that because he referred to the last remarks made by Stalin,
11:36wherein he had said that the central government, the BJP does not understand the character of the DMK.
11:42So he picked on from that and then said, look, nobody understands my character,
11:46either the DMK government here in Chennai or the one in Delhi. That's all. So we are seeing first
11:52time he doesn't want to pick on BJP and he defended it by saying that he doesn't want to talk about
11:59people who are not in the main battle. An interesting point that you made about how
12:04previous speeches you had Vijay constantly criticizing the BJP, almost, you know, referring to both the
12:09BJP and the DMK as well as this time evil force, he says, is the DMK. Dharidharan, what's your response
12:15to Vijay's attacks? He says that, you know, Periyar's name has been constantly used by the DMK to peddle lies.
12:23Firstly, Vijay must come and clarify his ideology. See, in fact, though my ideology or my party's ideology is
12:30directly opposite to the BJP and RSS ideology in most aspects, we do have respect and they have
12:36respect on us because we have a strong ideology on matters. And that ideology doesn't change based
12:40on elections. But Vijay has not even managed to answer simple questions like what it stands on
12:45Tilpara Kundram is. Or another important issue is fiscal federalism of Mandraga being renamed and
12:50stateful having, wanting to share 40%. So these are the ideas which the people of Tamiladu want to hear,
12:56rather than just cast aspersions on my party without any basis. If at all he's going to cast aspersions,
13:03I have given metrics past in the debate, I've written articles saying that from 2016 to 21,
13:08compared 21 to 25, the Tamil Nadu has progressed very well in socio-economic metrics, in law and
13:14order, in industrial growth. If at all he's not happy with it, he has to come and tell how is he
13:19going to generate more revenue? How is he going to reduce the debt to GDP than what we have reduced?
13:23How is he going to improve the law and order of Tamil Nadu? He has to explain what, or if he says
13:29youth unemployment is a problem, which I think isn't. But if he claims it is, then he has to say,
13:34how is he going to provide employment? How is he going to improve the investment that is going to
13:37come into Tamil Nadu than what we have done? So you have to give ideas. It's easy to, I can go on
13:42critical. No, so you have raised some pointed questions. Let me bring in the TVK on this.
13:46Tenmuri, the essential suggestion from the DNK is, look, we're seeing a lot of political rhetoric from
13:52Vijay, but no answers, no solutions, no talk of what he will do differently.
13:56Okay. Good evening, everyone. So the thing is, they were asking questions like what we will do.
14:05First, the question is what they have done in the past 4.5 years. Let us come to that. Like,
14:10they have borrowed nearly 4.5 lakh crore debt. And the revenue deficit is now over 45,000 crore.
14:18And the debt to GDP, GSDB ratio is nearing 28%. My simple question is, if the financials are strong,
14:26why the government is afraid to release a white paper. In one of the meet, the minister is showing
14:31plain white paper, because that is what they have done in Tamil Nadu, like nothing, nothing to write.
14:38So they were showing like plain white paper saying this is a white paper, which explains the foreign
14:43investment. So it is saying like, none, they haven't done anything much progress. And it is all the PR work
14:51and all the things are done on the borrowed money, which is for nearly 4.5 lakh crore. And they will
14:57say this is the progress, how long the progress will continue on the borrowed money.
15:02This is the financial... No, I'll raise those questions. I'll raise those questions to the DMK. But
15:05then, Maury, my specific question to you is, you know, what is the solution Vijay offers? Yes,
15:11you're attacking the DMK on these issues. But what is Vijay's solution?
15:14Yeah, we will give in the election manifesto. Like it is too early to say, right? Like,
15:19we are now pointing out these are all the places they have to be improved. And where we will work
15:24on and what we are going to give, it will be mentioned in our election manifesto and people
15:29will see it, why we have to tell our ideas to them to run the government, if they are asking us,
15:34what is the idea? And what is the 4.5 years before they have given election manifesto over
15:41with over 400 or 500 election promises? How much they have done? What are all the things are pending?
15:48Right? So what is the plan? Let's show Darni Dharan face.
15:51They are asking questions, others who is like coming new, why they are asking questions like,
15:56what are the ideas? Like they would have implemented those ideas and they would have done better, right?
16:02They haven't done that. That is why we are coming as an alternate and people believe us,
16:05that is why the huge turnout is happening. Okay, Darni Dharan, quickly your response,
16:08and then I want to bring up the issue of Periyar as well.
16:11Sir, it's very simple. First of all, as soon as we came to power, we were the first part state
16:15government to release a white paper on the finances of Tamil Nadu. It was debt to GDP was 28.5%.
16:19It has been reduced to 2.5% by 26%. As I always say, debt can never be seen in absolute numbers,
16:25but I have to be seen in terms of debt to GDP, which has reduced. And again,
16:30Tamil Nadu is going, you know, the fastest growing states in the country now is 11.2% growth.
16:34And the last four years, every year we had more than 9% growth. This is higher than
16:38Indian growth and higher than the growth that had in 2016 to 21. See, in manifesto,
16:42you can claim whatever you want to, but the fact is that you have to maneuver between the
16:463 lakhs to 4 lakhs crores of revenue that the state gets each year. In that realm is what you can
16:53launch schemes rather than claiming. So I'm not asking them for ideas. I am telling,
16:59if you are saying we are doing bad, how is it that you would have done better?
17:03What is that you would have done? It's what people want to hear. It's not for my party. It's for the
17:07people to know this is what I will be doing. This is what the point is. This is how I'm going to
17:11review. But manifesto is a document of promises. But when you are saying that we have not done
17:17this thing well, what is that you would have done? How we would have done it? We operate on
17:22constraints. Right? It's not that any government has an infinite amount of money.
17:25We will inform the government. How we will do it? Actually, the whole point is that as
17:29government, you have to increase the requirement.
17:34Pardon? See, there is, we don't any, no government across the world has an infinite amount of money.
17:38There is a specific amount of money in which you have to pay salaries to the government. We have to
17:42launch schemes. You have to spend on capital expenditure. How is that? On this given money,
17:47you are going to do it better. What is that? We did wrong. If at all you are saying law and order is
17:52worse, I am saying my based on NCRB data has improved from 2016 to 21 now. But if you are
17:57saying you are still not happy with it, how is that you will improve? What is that you will do?
18:01The POPSO cases are like more than 7000 now, which has been like increasing now. So how they can say
18:08it is like better? And they are appointment, they are like putting temporary DGP on top of that to
18:16replace, to help them, they are adding another temporary DGP, which is happening.
18:21Only in Tamil Nadu, in the whole nation.
18:23Senmuri, who is helping whom here?
18:25Sorry?
18:26Who is helping whom? What are you suggesting?
18:28No, I was saying, he is saying the law and order on all those things. I am saying POPSO cases are
18:34increasing nowadays. That is because of law and order is not proper in Tamil Nadu. That is what I am
18:39mentioning.
18:40Okay, okay. That is then quickly.
18:42There is always a difference between causation versus correlation. The correlation is not
18:47important. The causation is important. So the correlation may say that,
18:50but it is also possible that because of effective law and order,
18:53more cases are being reported than before. People are coming forward to report.
18:56That is why overall crime has reduced, but certain crimes in which people do not
19:00come forward to report, those reporting has increased.
19:02Okay, but we have seen
19:04what happened in Annanagar POPSO case, how they have handled, like, people know that.
19:11You can go into anecdotes, right? Okay.
19:14See, you can go into anecdotes, right, Akshita. But my broader point is, how is that they are going to
19:19give better governance? What is their legitimacy? What is their credibility?
19:23Okay.
19:23Right? These are valid questions.
19:25Okay, let me now shift this into also the other aspect of this conversation, which is on Periyar.
19:33Shekar Ayer, what do you make of the fact that Vijay has chosen to have this rally in E-Road, spoke of
19:40Periyar as well. So there are a lot of questions over whether, you know, what really Vijay's ideology is.
19:44What's very clear is he's not straying very far from the Dravidian mindset.
19:50Well, right from the beginning, Akshita, Vijay has, has decided to showcase a mix of ideologies,
19:59from Periyar to Kamarajar. He is not sticking to any one particular leader.
20:03All Tamil icons, essentially.
20:05All Tamil icons, be it Periyar, be it Kamarajar, be it Anadurai, you know, the founder of the DMK.
20:12I mean, he is including everybody and MGR, the founder of the AADMK. So he has got everybody in.
20:18Apart from that, he has also chosen some of the other icons who are, who do not belong to a particular
20:23political party. And today's message happened to be, look, when it comes to ideology, I represent
20:30the essence of all what these leaders wanted for the poor people to be done. Number one. Number two,
20:36today's exercise was to show that he has the people with him. That is why he ended with a selfie with the
20:42crowd. Sure.
20:43No other leader has done this kind of optics.
20:45No, but crowds, crowds, yes, Shikrayar. He's a superstar. He's a film star. So he will get those crowds.
20:51The question is whether it will transform into votes. It's happened, yes, in Tamil Nadu, but it also
20:55has flopped in Tamil Nadu. So you have both examples of that. So we'll have to see where Vijay is placed on that.
21:00Tenmuri, what really is Vijay's political leaning here? What's his ideology? You know, if he's going
21:06ahead and, you know, hailing a periyar, are we then to assume that his ideology is no different
21:12from that of the DMK? Actually, our chief has clearly mentioned every place that we are following
21:18secular social justice ideologies. So we wanted to give the basic necessities to the people
21:24very clearly, like which now lack in Tamil Nadu. They were talking about all other things, like
21:31even about when we talk about Periyar, about the women empowerment. So TBK stands with women in all
21:40the issues. No, but do you also agree with what Periyar has to say on religion, on Hinduism?
21:44No, clearly our chief has said, like, we do have belief in the system where we don't touch any of
21:54the people's religious belief. So we don't accept that. But then if you're backing Periyar,
22:00so, you know, what I'm getting a sense of is Tenmuri, yes, you've picked leaders who you're saying that,
22:05you know, you go ahead and idolize. And that's very clear from what Mr. Vijay said in his speech,
22:10but then you can't pick bits and pieces of what Periyar believes in. Even Periyar said,
22:14whatever I say, you need not to blindly follow. You follow whichever you feel is correct to you.
22:21So we took that point. And we feel that we should not touch any of people's religious belief.
22:27That is why we are saying, like, we will take the other ideologies. Like, even if we take women
22:33empowerment and all those things, DMK will say they are a torchbearer of social justice and then women
22:39empowerment and all those things. But they are still reluctant to appoint Sima as a DGP,
22:44even though the UPSC panel has approved the list. What is stopping them? And about the schools and
22:51all those things. Periyar wanted good education and all those things. Infrastructure is good.
22:56But what happened in Thiruvallur? The school wall collapsed and a child died. It is like the most
23:01sorrowful thing can happen anywhere, right? Okay, let me bring in Dani Dharan to respond to what
23:07the TVK has said. Dhani Dharan, when you see these images that was released by the TVK of Vijay and
23:11Periyar walking hand in hand and Periyar lifting up his arm, you know, in a sign of victory.
23:18Is this worrying the DMK that, you know, your very clear vote bank, the those who back Dravidianism,
23:24those who stand for what Periyar stands for, is something Vijay could be eyeing?
23:29The Justice Party was launched 110 years back. Justice Party in turn became Dravidakalaham with
23:36Periyar working on it for two years. Two of his men, two of two important people that he mentored,
23:42Arnia Ranna and Kalanias, started, I mean, together started the DMK along with several other people and
23:47they became the torchbearer of the Dravidakalagam and the Dravidian ideology for the longest. For
23:52example, Tamil Nadu became the first state to give a woman an equal share in property, to giving
23:57thousand rupees per month to women, government school girls joining college, to free breakfast scheme,
24:02to expansion of midday meal scheme, the Justice Party manifesto from 1921. Most of the aspects
24:08have been complete and still in progress. That is why Tamil Nadu ranks number one any socio-econometric,
24:13pertaining more so to women also, right? So that means why should we be afraid of a B-team when we
24:20ourselves have stood credible to the claims of Periyar and delivered on what he wanted to be
24:29done in Tamil Nadu. And Tamil Nadu is moving in that direction, becoming a secular egalitarian society.
24:35For example, one in four Dalit entrepreneurs in India live in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu has the highest
24:39number of OBC entrepreneurs in terms of percentage as well as the numbers, highest number of MSM,
24:46SMEs. For example, 15 lakh factory workers in India, 9 lakh women factory workers, 9 lakh are in
24:54Tamil Nadu. About 65% of women factory workers across the country are in Tamil Nadu. So this is
25:00living dream. This is what Periyar would have smiled looking at the metrics in which Tamil Nadu is now.
25:07Social justice has been the theme of the DMK. Tenmuri, quickly your response to this. You know,
25:12Dhani Dharan has essentially given you a report card there to say here's what we've done on this, on this,
25:17on this. And so there's no question of us not being a part of the social justice movement.
25:21Yes, they are saying about social justice. Then why they are closing the social justice hostel,
25:26which are meant for the students who are in need? Why they are closing that? Because of like not
25:32properly maintaining and all those things. And they are talking about women factory workers and all
25:37those things. Those are like more manual work. And it can be seen in such a way that women are forced to
25:45go for more manual work because of the inflation and because of the economic condition is poor.
25:51They are saying about 1000 rupees they are giving every month. But what is the cost of the groceries?
25:57It has been increasing a lot. Milk price has increased a lot. So they are saying like they
26:03are giving 1000 rupees and they will talk about free bus and all those things. But most of the ministers
26:08and most of the DMK party people, they are using the word OC, which is the OC bus, OC bus, which is
26:15the most insulting word they can use towards the women. That's something Mr. Vijay also referred to.
26:22Quickly, final word from Shekhar Iyer. Do you think this is the right strategy, Mr. Shekhar Iyer, of
26:27Vijay raising Periyar, of kind of, you know, making it clear he's not very different from the Dravidian
26:32parties. Is that the right strategy to go with in Tamil Nadu?
26:34No, by, you know, he cannot avoid paying tributes to Periyar or, you know,
26:42The BJP does it, they avoid it. Yeah, because, you know, he, because his whole idea is to attract
26:49all those people who are either in the DMK and who are in the AADMK. And that is why this rally's
26:56importance is also the fact, this is the first rally after Shingo Tehan, a very, very senior ADMK
27:01leader has joined him. And this area is also very close to Shingo Tehan's area. So the whole message
27:08is that more and more people are coming in because that is a message he gave today. Look,
27:13the battle is between my party and the DMK and there is nobody else and people are welcome to join me
27:19against the DMK. So his open call is the ideology does not matter so much as the need of the hour is
27:26to vanquish DMK. So he wants to rally all the DMK forces behind him.
27:31All right. Mr. Shekhar Ayer, Dhani Dharan and Tenmuri, thank you very much for your time for
27:36joining us here on Super 6. Can I just put the focus on the images that came in earlier today,
27:43just before the rally began of the crowds that had gathered at that rally? This is the video posted
27:48by Vijay. But beyond that, the chaos that had broken out just before the rally had begun,
27:53there were a number of restrictions in place and hundreds, thousands of fans would come together.
27:58We'll put out those images from early this morning, which showed the crowds gathering there
28:03in large numbers and there were mild lati charges also that were reported as a result.
28:08It tells you a couple of things that, you know, despite the Karur Stampede, which none of us have
28:12forgotten, in which so many lives were lost, the police may have learned their lesson. You may see
28:17restrictions on ground. The people haven't. You still see a huge number of people coming together,
28:22not caring about restrictions, trying to enter through with little children, with senior citizens
28:27and whatnot. And that seriously raises questions about how public safety is really taken care of in this
28:34country or what's the thought behind it, if there is any at all. Focusing again on the politics,
28:39let's take a look at all the other highlights of Vijay's speech.
28:42Thank you very much.

31:52One last ride of emotions.
32:22One last larger-than-life depiction of Goat Vijay on big screen.
32:43Jananayagan is shaping up to be far more than just another big-ticket release.
32:48It's a cinematic farewell etched in scale, sentiment and spectacle.
32:53Directed by H Vinod, the political action drama has already set fan pulses racing,
32:59primarily because it marks Vijay's final film before he steps fully into the world of politics.
33:06With just weeks left for release, a fresh update has added fuel to the frenzy.
33:11And it's all about the film's runtime.
33:14According to reports, Jananayagan is expected to clock in at three hours and six minutes,
33:20making it one of the longest films of Vijay's career.
33:23If the reports turn out to be true, the film will be just a couple of minutes shorter than Nanban, which was three hours and eight minutes long.
33:38But it's not just the runtime that's grabbing headlines.
33:41Jananayagan has already written records with its theatrical rights scene.
33:45The Tamil Nadu distribution rights were reportedly sold for a whopping 105 crore rupees, marking the highest valuation for a Tamil movie in the region's film distribution market.
33:57And here's the emotional punch.
34:12The film's final portions are said to be a tribute to Vijay's iconic cinematic journey.
34:18Making it a curtain call, fans are already bracing themselves for.
34:24Meanwhile, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamita Baiju, the Kash Raj and Gotham Menon in three roles.
34:32Adding to the high-stakes drama, there's a major box office clash.
34:36Jananayagan will go head-to-head with multiple Tamil and Telugu releases.

36:30And now we are hearing from our sources that Anna Malay is likely to be released later today.
36:35And that he, along with 350 workers, have been taken into custody because the police maintained permission wasn't granted for such a massive protest.
36:43Anagar Keshav is joining us live with more details on the story.
36:47Anagar, are the dramatic images this of a massive BJP protest?
36:51What triggered this agitation by Anna Malay, Anagar?
36:53In fact, the Tirupur City Municipal Corporation has granted permission to set up a dump yard in two locations.
37:04One is Chinnakannipaliam and the other one is Iduvai.
37:07So, it's against this.
37:08There was a lot of uproar and a lot of backlash.
37:11A lot of members, in fact, from the public have also joined for this protest.
37:14It's not just a BJP workers.
37:17It's Anna Malay plus 350 other members, both a mix of BJP and members of the public,
37:22upping the ante against the Tirupur City Municipal Corporation's move to set up two dump yards.
37:29The public is of the view that this is indeed a wrong site to set up a dump yard.
37:33They are vehemently opposing this.
37:34That's why Anna Malay staged a huge protest today, calling out the Tirupur City Municipal Corporation's commissioner.
37:42After a while, the Tirupur cops came in.
37:44They took Anna Malay and all of those members who were protesting.
37:47In fact, we believe there was also a lot of traffic issue that was caused.
37:50We also believe that permission was not obtained from the cops earlier by the BJP to stage this protest.
37:57So, of these grounds, Anna Malay and 250 others were arrested.
38:00Of course, they will be arrested by around maybe 7, 7.30.
38:03Anna Malay and all of those people will be released, is what Tirupur cops have told us.
38:07All right, Anika, thanks for those details.
38:10Let's talk about the big headline emerging from the state of Karnataka.
38:14The assembly session is underway.
38:16The winter session is taking place, as always, in Balagawi.
38:20The biggest headline today is that the hate speech bill, a very contentious one, debated across the country, has been passed.
38:27There was chaos on the floor of the House as the bill was brought up.
38:30Loud opposition protests in Balagawi.
38:33But ultimately, the numbers were in favor of the government.
38:37This bill has triggered a fierce debate over free speech and state power.
38:41shall have the power to direct any service provider, intermediary person or entity to block or remove the hate crime materials from its domain, including electronic media.
38:56Cures and confrontation in the Karnataka assembly, as the Sidharamaya government pushes through the hate speech and hate crimes prevention bill, 2025, emit fierce opposition resistance.
39:09The hate speech law significantly widens the state's powers to act against public speech that triggers social disharmony.
39:18The law covers speeches, written material and digital content, applying to individuals, as well as organizations.
39:26First-time offenders face up to seven years in jail, with stricter punishment for repeat violations and fines up to one lakh rupees.
39:34The bill also allows authorities to block online content while exempting art, literature and academic work.
39:43The bill was passed in the Balagawi assembly, even as BJP legislators shouted down proceedings, accusing the government of throttling free speech.
39:55Defending the legislation, Home Minister Ji Parmeshwara warned that there was a dangerous rise in divisive statements linking hate speech to violence, murders and deepening social fault lines.
40:07It is a right of every individual. You can't hate people. The result, we have brought a law. Always you want to go with peace.
40:20The opposition hit back hard.
40:23Without discussion, such an important bill being passed. They are chilling the democracy. They are against the constitution. They are against the rights of the people.
40:31With the bill now passed, the fight over free speech is set to move beyond the assembly to courtroom battles and public debate.
40:42Bureau Report, India Today.
40:43Okay, let me bring in Sagay Raj, who is joining us live from Balagawi with more details on this.
40:51Sagay, it was bound to be a stormy day when this particular hate speech bill was brought in, was introduced in the Karnataka Assembly.
40:58But what really is the government's reasoning and justification, Sagay, for bringing in this kind of a legislation, especially with the outrage that it sparked, not just in Karnataka, but across the country?
41:08Okay.
41:13Parmeswar, who is the Home Minister of Karnataka, went on to say that there's a lot of hatred, a lot of speech which is instigating people.
41:21And he has also stated one of the examples of his egg days where he said that he was not treated properly.
41:28People used to hate him because he comes from a Dalit community and he was not even served water using a glass.
41:34So he has stated that to put an end to all this hate amongst the people, we are bringing this particular bill.
41:41And opposition have opposed this, stating that you already have a bill, sorry, you already have a law in the state of Karnataka.
41:48And there is also a central government law which can be used.
41:52Why you need to bring this draconian law?
41:54And they feel that by bringing these laws, they are trying to cut the freedom of speech of the people.
42:00And they have also said that it will also try to cut the freedom of media.
42:06So they have given example of media when the BJP have opposed this.
42:10But Karnataka Congress government was hell-bent on this.
42:13And this particular bill was passed in Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
42:17And now it is due in the council.
42:19Which also, it should pass quite easily.
42:22Thanks very much, Sakai, for joining us with those details.
42:24Let's cut across to breaking news coming in.
42:32A horrifying video emerged of actor Nidhi Agarwal being mobbed, surrounded by fans who were then trying to reach her, touch her.
42:42And also horrifying images of how she is struggling to get away from them.
42:45In this particular case now, there has been action that's been taken by the Hyderabad police.
42:52We understand that the event promotion company, as well as the mall management, has been booked right now.
43:00This is the Lulu Mall management in Hyderabad that's been booked.
43:03And an event company called Shreyas Media that's also been booked.
43:06The case has been registered after this incident, which clearly showed a lack of security, lack of preparations.
43:13Abdul Bashir is joining us with more details on this.
43:16Abdul, we're finally seeing a crackdown for the mismanagement that led to that particular incident.
43:21Has there been any statement from the actor?
43:23Well, the actor has not responded to this situation that she's been through, a chaotic situation where she was briefly mocked by the crowd that had gathered in this promotional event of a song in Lulu Mall.
43:38What we are learning is that when she arrived, she was escorted to the dais where the program was held.
43:45After the program, when she was returning back, suddenly a search in the people over there, a crowd over there, moved towards her, marched towards her, which made her feel uncomfortable.
43:54And most of them is also seen, you know, making the situation more difficult for her to move towards the car.
44:04So that visuals were taken up and now the police have taken Suomoto.
44:07And today afternoon, a case was registered against the Lulu Mall management, Freya's media management, which was the company for the promotion of this particular event.
44:18And the event there was the promotional event or the song release of Moobie, the Raja Saab of Mahubali fame, Prabhash, who was the main star.
44:28Which is why there were huge crowds that had gathered.
44:31It was expected that there would be these crowds and yet basic steps weren't taken of crowd management.
44:36That mob got right to the actor.
44:38You can see all of them doing everything they can to kind of reach her.
44:42They got their hands on her, a serious invasion of her privacy.
44:47But now action being taken.
44:51And with that news break, I'm wrapping up this edition of Super 6.
44:54Thanks very much for tuning in.
