00:00Hey, Brian, I'm curious if you think this has been blown out of proportion.
00:04It's just the people are saying they need a number one.
00:07Late game execution hasn't been there.
00:10You know, people just think that, you know, this receiving core,
00:13even though it's been pretty good for most of the season,
00:15lately Steph Diggs hasn't been as productive.
00:18You talk about him getting double teamed a lot.
00:20You know, some people would say, well, you know,
00:21a number one beats double teams.
00:23Do you think it's severely lacking this offense, number one,
00:27and that's what they need to focus on in the offseason?
00:30Look, I've said all along I love this wide receiver crew.
00:34I think they've done a tremendous job.
00:35Now, I will say this.
00:36The one time that I ever played in Josh's system with a true number one
00:39was with Devontae Adams, and I would say that it adds a different layer to the offense.
00:44And so if you're able to find someone like that who –
00:49and to be honest with you, Ted, like you talk about a number one beating double teams,
00:53Devontae is the only one I've ever seen do it.
00:55Okay, so there's not many.
00:56I mean, you're talking a handful of guys.
00:58A handful of guys.
00:59I mean, is it A.J. Brown?
01:01Yeah, I think that's a possibility.
01:02And obviously he's linked here because of his love for, you know,
01:06Tom Brady and Julian Edelman, and obviously Ray will coach him.
01:09Do I think that that adds another layer?
01:11A hundred percent.
01:12But I think for what they have in that room,
01:14I've really admired the work that they've put in
01:17and the results that they've gotten to this point because you're right.
01:20I mean, Diggs, you would say, is the number one.
01:22But he's older.
01:24He's coming off an injury.
01:25I thought they've done a tremendous job as a group.
01:27And if you look back to the successful years that the Patriots have had,
01:31you would probably say Julian was the number one.
01:33I mean, that's not the traditional, you know,
01:36Jamar Chase or Devontae Adams or Puka Nakua.
01:40But because of his versatility, which I think there's some guys that have shown that,
01:45that's why Julian was the number one.
01:47And so, you know, each year is different.
01:49I wouldn't be shocked, especially with, you know,
01:51the cap space that they have,
01:52that maybe they try to go and get that game changer type of number one.
01:56And that would make everybody else in the room better for it.
