00:00Brian, you've been in the media for a little while now.
00:02You're doing podcasts, radio, TV, all these things,
00:05and you obviously saw it from the other side as a player for a long time.
00:08We talk about a lot of things,
00:10and one of the things that's popped up suddenly
00:12that I didn't really see coming was this idea,
00:15what's the relationship like between Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels?
00:19You know, he made one comment about
00:21you can only run so many double passes for 13 yards,
00:24and then he was given an opportunity to sort of praise McDaniels,
00:28and he deflected to the rest of the staff.
00:30I don't know how much you've talked about this on your podcast or elsewhere,
00:33but what do you think the relationship is
00:35between Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels?
00:37Does he like the production and the play calling
00:39and whatever he's getting out of his offensive coordinator?
00:42I mean, I don't know how you couldn't like it.
00:43You have a guy who's 23 years old
00:45who up until halftime of last week was the MVP favorite.
00:49The offense, I mean, look, they scored 31 points, guys.
00:52I don't know what we're talking about here.
00:54And this is as a player, you know, you look and you kind of roll your eyes.
00:58And Mike, I think, to his credit,
01:01and I would direct people to go watch if they haven't,
01:03our interview with Josh we did last week on our podcast,
01:07and I thought everything he said was genuine and real,
01:09and he credited Mike not just about the football side of it,
01:13but how he's built the culture,
01:15how he's poured into, you know,
01:17earning the guy's respect and the trust and all of those things.
01:20And those were all genuine, you know, real things.
01:22And so I know that Josh has a lot of admiration for how Mike is coaching the team.
01:28I think if you're Vrabel, you have to be so thankful that Josh was available
01:35and what he's been able to do with this offense and with Drake May.
01:39I think I said this to you guys before,
01:41like I don't know if Drake makes the jump that he makes in year two.
01:46If you bring in some guy who's never really called plays before,
01:50who's learning his way, yeah, he may be bright and have, you know,
01:54the ability to bring in a West Coast system that he's learned from somebody else.
01:58But Josh has done it before.
01:59He knows what works and what doesn't.
02:01And I would say this, and obviously I'm biased,
02:04but I said this to him when we interviewed him.
02:06Like it takes a lot of credit after all the years that he's coached
02:09to adapt and add different layers to his offense.
02:11You mentioned it before, you know, coming out of the bye, how about a little wrinkle?
02:16Let's run the zone read and get Drake in the end zone with his legs.
