00:00But let me ask you about just the injuries.
00:03I mean, you're out there, you're a quarterback,
00:05and then your left tackle and your left guard go out with injuries.
00:10What are you thinking at that point?
00:13And then also just what do you think Josh McDaniels will do
00:16to negate maybe those guys being out moving forward?
00:21Well, I think first and foremost within the game as a quarterback,
00:24you realize, okay, I'm not going to hold the ball any longer, right?
00:28And that's just a normal reaction.
00:31I think the one thing I would say, and we've talked about it,
00:35I've played for a lot of great coordinators.
00:36I've been high on Josh.
00:38And the one reason I would say this is where you're thankful
00:41you have an experienced offensive coordinator who can be creative
00:44with a game plan moving forward because let's just say, for instance,
00:48the Patriots did what a lot of people wanted.
00:51Let's go get a young, hot name that's from the West Coast system.
00:55And that could have been great.
00:56But now you're into the point in the season where guys are getting injured
01:01and Josh has done this so many times before and has the experience of figuring
01:06out how to navigate around injuries or maybe where you could be a little
01:10shorthanded.
01:12And so, look, next week's game makes me a little nervous because you're going
01:15against a Giants team.
01:17They have nothing to lose.
01:18They just fired their defensive coordinator.
01:20It's a Monday night national game.
01:21This guy who's the interim D coordinator is going to want to come in and make a splash,
01:25make a name for himself.
01:26And they have some, let's just call it, great elite talent on the front four
01:31of the Giants team.
01:32And so, to me, what Josh is going to do this week is understand, look,
01:36we've got a new combination of guys playing on the left side.
01:39They've got some good pass rushers.
01:40We have to be ready for some things that they have up their sleeve,
01:43try to make a name for themselves.
01:45We're going to focus on the quick pass game this week.
01:47Drake, you know, when I call these certain plays, the ball's got to come out of your
01:51hands in under two and a half seconds, okay?
01:52When I see that maybe some of their pass rushers are out, we'll get to the shot plays.
01:57But having a coordinator with that experience and realizing I'm not just going to go
02:01call plays next Monday night against this defense with some of our guys down.
02:05I have to be very mindful of how I put the game plan together and how I call the game
02:09on Monday night.
02:09And so that's where you've got to be thankful that you have an experienced guy who's been
02:14through the fire in a lot of different situations.
