00:04Actor Bill Pullman is now responding after President Donald Trump's heavily altered Independence Day clip made the rounds on social media.
00:11On Saturday, the president shared a video clip from the 1996 film to his Twitter account in which Trump appears to be giving the movie's iconic speech from the President of the United States,
00:21rather than Pullman, who actually played the part of President Thomas J. Whitmore in the film.
00:25Today, we celebrate our Independence Day.
00:30Trump appears to be superimposed in the clip, as well as others who appear in the crowd, including Ted Cruz, Donald Trump Jr., and Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.
00:40Trump's tweet has so far garnered over 80,000 retweets and more than 250,000 likes.
00:46Of course, Pullman was among those who saw the clip posted to social media, and while only Trump's face is superimposed in the video he shared,
00:53the voice is still that of Pullman's.
00:56The actor told The Hollywood Reporter,
00:57My voice belongs to no one but me, and I'm not running for president this year.
01:02In the film starring Pullman, Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum, President Whitmore gives the climactic speech to troops before their assault on the alien invaders.
01:10A sequel to the film Independence Day Resurgence was released in 2016.
