00:00Oh, look at that! Absolutely phenomenal!
00:03Rooney O'Hall!
00:05Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:30MUSIC PLAYS
00:47Evening, just the four matches tonight,
00:49but no shortage of storylines.
00:52These two will more than likely throw me under the bus.
00:56After being left out of the Liverpool squad
00:58for the midweek trip to Inter Milan,
01:00Mo Salah was back on the bench for the visit of Brighton.
01:03Guy Mowbray was at Anfield.
01:06Only one place to start.
01:09It's been one of the most eagerly awaited team sheets of the season,
01:12with Mohamed Salah indeed back for Liverpool,
01:15but only as a substitute,
01:17as Arna Slott makes two changes from Tuesday's win in Milan.
01:21Milos Kerkhez returns at left-back in place of Andy Robertson,
01:24and there's a start for Florian Veert.
01:26He's in for Alexander Isak,
01:29also on the bench,
01:30having taken a knock at the San Siro.
01:32And it's a milestone match for Curtis Jones,
01:35as he brings up 200 first-team games for Liverpool.
01:39For Brighton, also two team changes,
01:41with Brian Gruda and Jack Hinchelwood,
01:43replacing Maxime De Kuyper and Danny Welbeck.
01:46Hinchelwood got the winning goal for the Seagulls
01:48when they last faced Liverpool in May.
01:49They've never beaten them in successive league meetings.
01:58And it's Brighton to get things going.
02:01Starting the weekend in eighth place in the Premier League,
02:05above Liverpool on goal difference.
02:07And here they are at a ground where
02:10they've only ever won three times in 20 visits overall.
02:17Just once in the Premier League,
02:19and that was in February of 2021.
02:23Lewis Dunk playing it back to Bart Verbruggen,
02:26who was under the pump already from Curtis Jones,
02:29doing a lot of the hard running,
02:31but he's very much a part of his game.
02:34Jones only half won the ball there, though.
02:41Minta took a bit of a lash at it.
02:42Gomez back into the box.
02:44Hekateke!
02:48Liverpool take the lead in seconds.
02:5248 of them.
02:56Well, it is the Brighton way.
02:58They love to play out from the back.
03:00Perhaps there they should have done a bit more playing,
03:02because this seemed unnecessarily risky.
03:06Gomez got to it first.
03:08Still quite a bit for Ugo Eketike to do.
03:12He got everything just right.
03:15Liverpool 1, Brighton 0.
03:19He's right to take a bow, son.
03:24Rufo.
03:25I think that's how we'd describe that look.
03:27Or maybe just engrossed in the game like the rest of us.
03:30Van Hecke, that's a good pass.
03:33Ruter.
03:36Minta.
03:38Minta with a chance to shoot.
03:41I think Alisson had it covered, but it was a close thing.
03:45A little bit more bend,
03:46and his fingertips might have been touched.
03:50Van Hecke.
03:50Minta with a chance to shoot it.
03:57Viva.
03:59Got away from Jones, okay.
04:00Here's Minta.
04:01That's a lovely ball.
04:03What a move that was from Brighton.
04:04And a big save from Alisson.
04:07That's now going to be a Liverpool free kick.
04:09But they're indebted to their goalkeeper for keeping their lead intact here.
04:13And towards Gomez.
04:26Gomez keeps going.
04:27And just about keeps it in too.
04:29Eketike can't keep that one down though.
04:32Same two that combined for the opening goal.
04:37Joe Gomez keeping the ball in play by the skin of the leather.
04:41Well, the coating anyway.
04:44Not sure how much pure cowhide is used in footballs these days.
04:51Mintao Van Hecke.
04:55And the refs stop the game.
04:56Joe Gomez needs a little bit of assistance.
05:00Joe Gomez knows all about injuries.
05:03Knows that all too well.
05:07And guess what's going to happen here?
05:09Joe Gomez is going to have to go off.
05:12But coming on, it's Mohamed Salah.
05:16And let's have a listen to the reception that Mohamed Salah gets on as a sub for Liverpool.
05:22And it is 100% resoundingly positive.
05:34No sentiment.
05:35There's no emotion or feelings from Arna Slaught.
05:38It's purely what's best for my team.
05:41Here goes Salah.
05:45Plenty running for him.
05:47McAllister!
05:48Eketike nearly got there for number two.
05:51Verbruggen there first.
05:56He's on and he's in the game.
05:58Almost making something happen moments after taking the field.
06:03I can hear the positive cries of Albion from the visiting seats now.
06:10Van Hecke into the box.
06:11Rute challenges.
06:12Gomez hits it.
06:14And Canate stayed in the way of it.
06:16Rute goes again.
06:18Wirtz.
06:20There's Belieber, but there's a late challenge that will bring Liverpool a free kick.
06:25Florian Wirtz is down and Gomez is down as well.
06:28I think he was the perpetrator.
06:30Good skill from Florian Wirtz, keeping his cool, but ooh, dear me.
06:34That is wild from Diego Gomez.
06:37And that is going to be a booking which will rule him out of next weekend's game against Sunderland.
06:45Alisson.
06:47Clears everybody.
06:48Vipa's onto it now, though.
06:50But not for long.
06:51Stolen by Eketike.
06:54Eketike wanders through and keeps on going.
06:57Before putting the shot wide.
06:59That would have been some goal.
07:02What about this for sheer determination?
07:11Gruda.
07:12Loads of room on the left for Gomez, but he hasn't looked that way.
07:16Gomez might get onto that, though he did!
07:18And he should have scored.
07:21Brighton might not get a better chance than that.
07:24Played across superbly.
07:27For Diego Gomez, it's a cracking pass from Mats Vipa.
07:33Couldn't have timed his run onto it any better.
07:35And he didn't get his angles right.
07:39Tell you who would have put that in.
07:42Danny Welbeck, leading English scorer in the Premier League at this point this season.
07:47Gomez.
07:49Gomez.
07:52Kadioulu.
07:55Routier battling with Canate.
07:57Gomez is there.
07:58And Gomez finds Gruda.
08:00Gruda!
08:00Oh!
08:01Liverpool have got to tighten up.
08:06Wide open spaces for Brighton as they attacked on that occasion.
08:11Lovely cutback from Gomez.
08:13And then Gruda kept his cool, trying to jink his way into a proper goal-scoring position.
08:18And he very nearly had it.
08:19Then Hecker.
08:25Too easily bumped off that by Wierz.
08:27Hecker-Tike, he's past dunk, he's through, he's got Salah with him.
08:32And he had McAllister too.
08:34Now Salah!
08:36Straight up Verbruggen.
08:42Should have been an easier chance than the one he got.
08:45Look at that position, but I don't think Hecker-Tike played the right ball at the right time.
08:53Salah will now take the corner.
08:55And his chanter's back in fashion.
08:59Salah in, Verbruggen can't get to it!
09:012-0 Liverpool.
09:08Hecker-Tike got to it.
09:12Barely a flicker from Arnas Lopp.
09:15Barely a smile from Ugo Hecker-Tike.
09:22The freest of free headers.
09:28Liverpool now have a position of control.
09:31And I just wonder now whether the Seagulls have had their chips.
09:38Minter.
09:46Van Hecker.
09:49There's Vifa!
09:51Goal kick.
09:52Another wild finish from a Brighton player.
09:55It's hard to shake the feeling that even if they've played another hour out there,
09:59Brighton won't be scoring today.
10:00Goodness they've created.
10:02They have had the chances.
10:10Salah.
10:13Robertson.
10:15Chiesa.
10:17Salah is charging into the box for Chiesa.
10:20Chiesa finds him!
10:21We won't get that particular headline.
10:26We won't get that particular headline.
10:33Minter.
10:39Minter's cross.
10:42Salah.
10:43Is this it?
10:45He's got Robertson with him.
10:46He's got Van Dijk with him, would you believe?
10:49Salah.
10:50Oh!
10:56Should be the other way around.
10:58Somebody playing Salah into run free on goal.
11:00Liverpool 2.
11:02Brighton and Hope Albion 0.
11:03For me, the situation yesterday when I spoke to him and for him being today on the bench
11:08and coming in as the first substitution, for me, that means that it has settled down.
11:13But, yeah, if the outside world wants to keep talking about it or there are other reasons
11:18why people should keep talking about it, that's fine for me, but, like I said, my conversation yesterday
11:24and the actions of today that I did and that he did, for me, that speaks for itself.
11:30And now, a quiet Saturday evening and a free week.
11:34What are you going to do?
11:35Yeah, I would love to say train, but if I just looked in the dressing room, I wonder if we can play five aside.
11:42We deserve definitely more.
11:45Maybe even a win because we created so many chances.
11:47We had a bad start in the game.
11:50You reacted well.
11:51But, in the end, it's about consistency, doing it for 90 minutes, not only for some phases of the game.
11:57And that's why we lost it.
11:58When you play for Liverpool, you just have to win games.
12:01So, hard to answer, but when you see the games coming without Liverpool, we need to win.
12:09Let's start with him.
12:11We'll come on to Salah in a little while.
12:12But he was their star man today.
12:15Well, he's definitely doing something right because even Al's impressed.
12:17No, he's been a breath of fresh air.
12:20He's been the shining light of the new signings.
12:23You could argue he's been, with Sabozlai, probably Liverpool's best player this season.
12:28In fact, the whole team started well.
12:29There was a great urgency about them.
12:32Sabozlai doing what he does best, setting the press.
12:36Jones, who was also outstanding, trying to stop Belieber getting the ball and stop Brighton playing because we know that's how they like to play.
12:42And it kind of suited Liverpool.
12:44This is in the first minute of the game.
12:46Look at Kerkhez, the urgency.
12:47Get the ball back in play.
12:48Let's try and get at them.
12:49Let's try and make a good start because they haven't done that very often at Anfield.
12:52And then when the clearance comes out, which is a poor one, as we know, be first to it, win the header, be brave, and Gomez is.
13:00And Eketike, you know, for your first chance in the game, that is something.
13:04It's a confident lad.
13:05He plays free, I think.
13:07He seems to have complete belief in himself.
13:10He'll take shots on from wherever.
13:12Yeah, leaning back a little bit there.
13:14But just wanting to score goals and get himself in good positions.
13:17And I think this is where he's really good as well and quite unique is because when he goes deep, he's got good technique and good vision.
13:23And look, he can run.
13:24He's quick.
13:25And he doesn't stop here and watch.
13:27He just pulls out again, waiting to create that little space and takes it early, which I really like.
13:32And he's only a foot or two away from getting his second there.
13:35And I thought he grew in the second half and got even better.
13:37He was getting more confident, wanting to be the main man and make an impact on the game.
13:43I mean, this is terrific skill and power.
13:45Just fluffs the shot a little bit.
13:47Doesn't quite get the technique right.
13:48But he deserved everything he got today.
13:51His work rate was good off the ball.
13:53You need that when you play for Liverpool.
13:55Again, belief in himself to try.
13:57And that's from outside the box.
13:58And with his height and his presence, he's going to get plenty ahead as yet.
14:01It's poor defending.
14:02But look at the leap.
14:04Got his just rewards today.
14:05And as I said before, he's been...
14:08The fans have taken to him.
14:10He's been sensational.
14:11And look, these two are going to be compared because they signed in the same transfer window.
14:16But not only are his goals a huge reward for Liverpool, but he's also more involved.
14:24The numbers show that he's more involved in everything that they're doing.
14:27Well, they're different types of players.
14:28But ultimately, as a centre-forward, you want to be...
14:31You want to impact in games.
14:33Scoring goals, making goals and causing the other team problems.
14:36And he's doing that on all these different...
14:38You look at the goals there.
14:39And even winning the ball back as well, which for Liverpool is super important, that press.
14:43He deserves all the credit he's given.
14:45What do you like about it?
14:46Seven goals and ten starts.
14:49There's a rawness about him, definitely.
14:52But I love his attitude.
14:53I love how keen he is.
14:55And I love how he's taken to life at Anfield, at Liverpool.
15:01That has been a really difficult season.
15:03And there's no doubt he's the one that's stood out.
15:05And I think he plays with the freedom.
15:07And he's going to give plenty of defenders tough times because he's strong and he's quick.
15:13And clearly, he can finish.
15:14In amongst all the noise about Mo Salah, what he actually did today was break the Premier League record for most goals and assists for a single club.
15:22That's Premier League only.
15:25What did you see on the pitch before we come to the off the pitch?
15:28With Salah?
15:29Salah?
15:30I thought he did well when he came on.
15:33I guess it was a bit earlier than he thought it would be.
15:3726 minutes he came on.
15:39But I thought he worked really hard.
15:41I thought he was involved.
15:42You couldn't question his attitude at all.
15:45He had one or two opportunities that he perhaps might have scored on another day.
15:49But that ball should have came into him there with a better ball.
15:52And he still gets his shot away.
15:54Decent save from the keeper.
15:56You wouldn't expect him to beat the keeper from that angle.
15:59But as I said, he was quick.
16:01He got into really good positions.
16:02This is the big chance that he had.
16:04Good work from Chiesa.
16:06He put it really on a plate for him.
16:08And you'd expect him to score there.
16:10And right at the end, this is fantastic.
16:12Look at the two players who are getting up to support him.
16:15Robertson and Van Dijk.
16:16It's an awful pass that I think it's meant to be Van Dijk.
16:19If you're a centre-half, you don't want that, do you?
16:21Not when you beat that run.
16:23Absolutely.
16:24But I think what is also noticeable, I don't think it is going to go away as much as Arna Slott and Liverpool would want it to.
16:33Because after the game on Tuesday, I think Arna was quoted as saying, well, is he going to say sorry?
16:38And it was noticeable today that in his interview afterwards, he didn't actually say whether...
16:42But he said they had a meeting, didn't he?
16:43He said they had a meeting, so he's back.
16:46And it settled down.
16:47So that for you doesn't draw a line.
16:50It also settled down because he's away now for the AFCON as well.
16:54So it will quieten down.
16:56But the quicker that comes to an end, then the questions will start again.
17:01Does it draw a line under it for you?
17:02No.
17:03I agree with Al.
17:04I think that short-term resolution was a surprise to everyone.
17:07But it makes sense the more you think about it.
17:08Because the club's the most important.
17:10And now it's going to stop for a while.
17:11OK.
17:12It was top against bottom at the Emirates.
17:15Arsenal faced a Wolves side already 13 points from safety,
17:18with head coach Rob Edwards warning of more pain to come.
17:22Blimey.
17:23Merry Christmas, Wolves fans.
17:24Your commentator, Jonathan Pearce.
17:28Top at home and in Europe at Christmas.
17:31That has to be Arsenal's immediate target.
17:33Wolves' objective to avoid unwanted club records
17:36that a ninth league defeat in a row
17:38and a 20th top-flight game without a victory would bring.
17:42Saliba returns for Arsenal, having missed four games with an ankle injury.
17:46Four other changes from the Champions League win at Bruges.
17:48Timber also fit to return.
17:51Rice recovered from illness.
17:52Eze and Jockery has picked again.
17:54They've won their last eight league games against Wolves.
17:57For the visitors,
17:58Chao Gomes returns from suspension.
18:00Wang Hee-chan replaces Belgaard,
18:02who was injured in the home defeat by Manchester United.
18:05And with other change,
18:06Matt Doherty starts for the first time since October.
18:09They've won just one of their last 14 away games at Arsenal.
18:13Good atmosphere in the ground.
18:18Arsenal have won their last seven at the Emirates
18:20against teams starting the day in the bottom three.
18:24And Saka looks like it's only going to be a matter of time, to be honest.
18:29And it was very nearly there, the opening goal.
18:32Timber up from the back.
18:34Coming away from goal, awkward that.
18:36Wolves are to get to 35-36 points,
18:42which I must think will be the safety mark this season.
18:45They need roughly one and a half points a game.
18:48It's not going to happen, is it?
18:50Ben White now to Saka.
18:52Isolated with Totti, drawn out from the middle.
18:58Totti's showing the outside,
18:59and Saka's gone beyond him.
19:00In comes the glass.
19:01It's well dealt with in the middle by Andre.
19:04Good positional sense.
19:06Saka's going to take this throw long.
19:1026 minutes gone out of the Emirates.
19:17Saliba comes to the near post.
19:19Capier was behind him.
19:21Zubermendi back into the middle.
19:23It's an important header away by Mosquera.
19:25And look at this now, on the counter.
19:27Huang He-chan.
19:28Has he got the pace to get away and finish?
19:30He's certainly got the pace.
19:32But Raya makes sure he doesn't finish.
19:33And that's the Wolves game plan encapsulated.
19:39Defends stoutly.
19:41Don't give Arsenal a chance if you can help it.
19:43And then break.
19:45And it was nearly a decisive counter-attack.
19:48Now watch Ben White here as he's trying to chase back.
19:52Wan's away.
19:53He can't get the shot beyond the goalkeeper.
19:56But Ben White pulled up for Arsenal there.
19:59Here's Lewis Skelly.
20:00To Saka.
20:02Crying.
20:03Shoot goes up from around the ground.
20:07David Raya.
20:08Five yards inside the opposition half.
20:10In a hurry.
20:11Incapier.
20:12Dangerous ball in.
20:13Touched on, I think,
20:15by a Wolves player.
20:17That's a corner.
20:17Came off Andre.
20:18Nice and ball in, that.
20:21Just got in front of Saliba.
20:28In comes that corner.
20:29It's so dangerous, Martinelli.
20:31Might have seen it late.
20:33Can't quite believe how that's not ended up in the back of the net.
20:37Yeah, he saw it late.
20:39Plucky from Wolves.
20:40Not good enough from Arsenal so far.
20:45Here's Saliba.
20:46Martino, you can see Trosov waiting to come on.
20:59He knows time is short.
21:00He's taken on Docherty.
21:01He's left him behind!
21:04Too much power in the cross.
21:06Diokoroso's waiting at the far post,
21:08because I think Martinelli goes for goal here.
21:11He's opened his body up to try and curl it in.
21:14His eyes are on the far corner.
21:16Not on his team-mate coming in.
21:24Title winners...
21:26Find a way.
21:30That's the way clear for Arsenal.
21:33Odegaard away by Totti.
21:35Good game for Wolves.
21:37Wang over a run.
21:38Oh, that's a poor challenge on Lewis Skelly.
21:41He's in trouble here.
21:47It's a poor tackle, this.
21:50He's stretching for the ball.
21:52He's a way off it.
21:55Studs find Lewis Skelly.
21:57His foot was quite low,
21:58but it's been conferred as a yellow.
22:01The VAR's telling the referee
22:03that Wang tried to pull himself out of the challenge
22:06and tried to pull away from the challenge.
22:09Well, that's not my understanding of the replay I've just seen.
22:12And Kapiye.
22:15Up to Jokerez.
22:16Did well enough.
22:17Trossard.
22:18Out to Saka.
22:19Skips beyond his man.
22:23Plays into Jokerez.
22:24Back to goal again.
22:25Was fouled as he went to turn by Doherty.
22:28Yellow card defence, surely.
22:34Broke up an Arsenal attack here.
22:36Knew exactly what he was doing.
22:37Knew that there were players out wide to his left-hand side.
22:41Had to stop the ball from getting out wide.
22:45Declan Rice.
22:47Close.
22:48Very close.
22:49And a fingertip on it from Tam Johnson.
22:52Stopped Arsenal from taking the lead.
23:00Incapier for Arsenal.
23:04Trossard to have a run.
23:09Picks out Rice.
23:10Good ball.
23:11Kapi opens up in front of him.
23:12That's a splendid piece of goalkeeping.
23:15Back in by Timber.
23:17Arsenal finally have woken up.
23:19Two saves in a matter of minutes to deny Declan Rice.
23:27Arsenal building up ahead of steam.
23:29Rice.
23:29away by Totti.
23:31away by Totti.
23:31An excellent game.
23:32Ah, wall's tiring.
23:34Have Arsenal begun to grind them down?
23:37Marino.
23:38Marino.
23:39Incapier in there.
23:41Jokeres in there as well.
23:42Saliba's tight on the goalkeeper.
23:43It's bending in!
23:44It's got it!
23:45All the way from the corner!
23:47The deadlock is finally broken!
23:53The deadlock is finally broken!
23:55I don't think many people could have seen that coming.
23:57I don't think many people could have seen that coming.
23:59I don't think many people could have seen that coming.
24:00Sweeps in.
24:01It comes off the back of Sam Johnson.
24:03And unfortunate for the Wolves goalkeeper.
24:07It will be an own goal against his next.
24:11Saka's offside here in the lead-up to the corner for the goal.
24:17It's a corner kick, but of course it didn't result in a goal initially,
24:22so there can be no VAR intervention.
24:28Trossard with the cross to Jokeres.
24:31Took it really well on the half-turn!
24:32Does superbly!
24:33Does superbly.
24:36That's really terrific centre-forward play.
24:38And he deserved better.
24:39Good control, strength.
24:42Rolled his man, got the shot off.
24:46Chatiuat switches to his left.
24:48It's not a bad ball in.
24:50Still not yet away.
24:52Xalcómez.
24:53Verlópez, Xalcómez.
24:55Chips to the far side, chance to hit the ball there.
24:58Now Mateus Manu, the young man.
25:02It's in!
25:03Wolves unequalised!
25:06What a moment for them!
25:08Heads in hands from Arsenal fans, they've given this one away.
25:17They went deeper and deeper, got more and more anxious, couldn't get a boot on the ball, Arsenal.
25:25It's a lovely ball back in by Manu.
25:27It's only his third goal since joining the club, and it's one of the biggest he'll score in his career.
25:41One-one.
25:42One-one.
25:43One-one.
25:44One-one.

26:05One-one.
26:06One-one.
26:07It may well have come off Mosquera.
26:13Jesus with the run.
26:17Oh, it's come off Mosquera.
26:19It's a known goal.
26:21Well, what an end to the game.
26:24Certainly couldn't see this happening.
26:26Arsenal 2, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1.
26:34How's your luck?
26:36It's not great, is it, Jonathan?
26:37At the moment, the lads gave everything tonight.
26:42We're flat.
26:42At the bottom line, we lost another game of football.
26:45After scoring the goal, we had a period of two minutes
26:47that we went deep, suddenly, and it's very passive.
26:50We are going to cross the wall and conceded a very poor goal.
26:53And at the end, we pushed.
26:54We found out when to score the goal
26:56with the connection between Gabby and Bukayo.
26:59And obviously delighted because at the end, that's what we wanted.
27:03The plan did work.
27:03The lads carried it out really well.
27:05We were very disciplined.
27:06We obviously can't open up here.
27:08You know, they'd be asking for trouble.
27:09So we were a lot more compact than we were on Monday.
27:12Different game, different opposition.
27:13It was the right way to go.
27:14The lads worked hard on it.
27:16They believed in it.
27:17And we had to wait for our moments
27:19and to show the courage to get back in it.
27:22After going 1-0 down, we started pushing.
27:23We pressed.
27:24We made changes.
27:25Got back into it.
27:26But then the stuff I was speaking about before, again,
27:29this is why we are where we are.
27:31We've got to value stopping the cross.
27:32We've got to defend the goal.
27:34And we're not doing that well enough.
27:36We're not.
27:36God, it's hard not to feel for him.
27:40And football can be cruel or joyous,
27:42depending on which side of the coin you're on.
27:43And in fact, up until the last five minutes of that game,
27:46it was going last.
27:47Yes.
27:47So what do you make of Arsenal's performance, really?
27:53Well, first of all, I have to say how brilliant Wolves were
27:56and how hard and difficult and they frustrated Arsenal
27:59for long periods of the game.
28:02And Arsenal didn't play well at all.
28:03There was a nerveness about it.
28:05They were edgy.
28:07But ultimately, what they did, I thought, really well, Arsenal,
28:11was what they've done really well in games this season also,
28:14is crosses.
28:15That was the one constant in the game today,
28:18particularly down the right-hand side with this guy.
28:22And what is impressive also is how many numbers
28:25they actually get in the box.
28:26You've got Tim up there.
28:28That ball goes in there.
28:29He comes inside, left foot.
28:31Very good cross.
28:331v1.
28:35On the right-hand side, he goes again.
28:37You know what he can do.
28:39Very difficult to mark.
28:40He goes on the outside this time.
28:42But the same thing again.
28:43You've got bodies in the box.
28:44This time it's rice.
28:46That's getting on the end of it.
28:47But constantly, they're putting balls into the box
28:50and asking questions of the defence.
28:53And I don't care who you're playing against,
28:55it's tough to do.
28:56That's an unbelievable cross and deserve to be in the back of the net.
29:00But he kept on doing it.
29:0230 crosses they got in the box today.
29:04Second in games, that is.
29:0732 they had against Manchester City.
29:10And there's no doubt that I'm seeing that more crosses,
29:13not only from Arsenal, but from teams that are coming into the box last season,
29:17and in particular this season.
29:18And ultimately, when you keep on putting balls into the box,
29:21that's what's won them the game today.
29:23Whether they've played well or not, you can discuss who was good, who was not.
29:26But that was the impressive thing about them,
29:29is how many times they kept going into those positions
29:32and getting them in there,
29:33and still people trying to get on the end of it.
29:35Look, it was another set piece that broke the deadlock here.
29:39And there's a bit of noise as well about Saka and offside in the build-up to this,
29:44which we will clear up in a minute, Dan.
29:46Yeah, here it is.
29:46I mean, you can tell he's in an offside position there from, you know, the first look.
29:51And most of us watching it thinking, oh, he could be offside.
29:53And then when it actually goes, he clears it out for a corner.
29:56We'll go through the rules in a minute.
29:57It's not offside.
29:58They get the corner.
29:59We know how good they are.
30:00It's actually not his best ball in the world.
30:03Keeper should deal with it, and he doesn't.
30:05But the amount of pressure they constantly put on goalkeepers time and time again,
30:09it's no wonder they make mistakes.
30:10But he'll be disappointed with that.
30:12And they get the look as well.
30:13Bounces off the post on the back of him.
30:15And that's where we thought the game was done.
30:18OK, so here's the reason why, and we've checked with Pidgeot MOL here,
30:22why he wouldn't have been given offside here.
30:24Because Bukayo Saka didn't do any of these four things.
30:27He didn't affect his opponent's line of vision.
30:30He didn't challenge the opponent for the ball.
30:33He didn't attempt to play the ball.
30:35He just dropped off, didn't he?
30:37And he didn't do anything that impacted the ability of the opponent to play the ball.
30:43So when you look at it, like there, in black and white,
30:47that is why he wasn't given offside.
30:48Yeah, and you have to accept that decision.
30:50You know, that's something we've seen now for a long time.
30:53Obviously, if he'd have gone in and scored on that, he'd have been off.
30:56So, yeah, right decision.
30:57Well done, VAR.
30:58Yeah.
30:59Refs.
31:01All of you.
31:02All of them.
31:02Whoever they are.
31:03All of the officials.
31:05Five games in Sunday's match of the day.
31:07You can vote for your sports personality of the year on Thursday.

31:43Bernardo Silva's this week's football interview.
31:45That follows us.
31:46Or you can watch that on iPlayer as well.
31:47If you missed the start of the show, it's available now on iPlayer,
31:50along with highlights of every match.
31:53Now, David Moyes was playing for Preston with David Beckham.
31:59Yes, you heard that correctly, younger viewers.
32:02The last time Everton won a league game at Chelsea.
32:05So, that was the 94-95 season.
32:09Steve Wilson was at Stamford Bridge.
32:11None of Chelsea's first-team squad were even alive back in November 94.
32:17They are a youthful mix of exuberance and at times naivety.
32:21No one in four and out of the top four.
32:25Cole Palmer starts for Chelsea.
32:27His groin continues to be a problem which needs careful managing.
32:31Caicedo served the last game of his ban.
32:33And with De Lape injured, João Pedro leads their line.
32:37Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returns to Chelsea.
32:39His reputation enhanced since leaving for Everton.
32:43He's scored three in his last four and has been nothing short of excellent.
32:47Idrissa Gueye returns after suspension.
32:49Colos Alcaraz drops out.
32:51And if Everton were to win here, then they'd be fourth in the table.
33:03Pedro Neto trying to give Garnaccio something to work with.
33:08Everton fans who are right behind that advertising hoarding rather enjoyed that miscontrol.
33:16Dewsbury-Hall here.
33:19Well, this could potentially be a real problem for Everton.
33:22Dewsbury-Hall has in many ways been the pick of their bunch this season.
33:26And this doesn't look good.
33:29So, that's it for Dewsbury-Hall.
33:31It didn't last long.
33:32And he's getting a warm ovation from the supporters of both clubs, which is nice.
33:37Carlos Alcaraz is coming on.
33:46That's a good ball.
33:481-0.
33:49Cole Palmer.
33:54Back in the groove, Cole Palmer.
33:56Well, that's the kind of football you expect from Chelsea.
34:03That's the kind of football and finish you expect from Cole Palmer.
34:08Makes such a good run there.
34:10Is beautifully found.
34:12And the outcome was really never in doubt.
34:17Gusto's pass.
34:19And to see Cole Palmer doing that again is very good news for the shed end of Stamford Bridge.
34:25That's a good turn.
34:32That's a good turn.
34:36Garnaccio.
34:38That's just over the angle of Post and Bar.
34:41Pickford is not happy with those in front of him.
34:45O'Brien at least did enough to make the angle a bit more difficult.
34:49Everton had looked pretty comfortable for 20 minutes.
34:58And that's not a great ball.
35:00And Garnaccio is there.
35:02And he's missed it.
35:05Well, Alcaraz has his hand raised in apology as well he might.
35:12Can't really believe Garnaccio's missed that.
35:14Chelsea haven't won in a game in which Cole Palmer has scored so far this season.
35:24O'Brien to Idrissa Garnagay.
35:28O'Brien again.
35:30Idrissa Garnagay again.
35:31This is good football by Everton.
35:33Grealish wants it back.
35:34Post.
35:34Oh!
35:35It went straight through Tiena Barry.
35:38Well, Tiena Barry knows what a good opportunity this was.
35:41To be fair, Sanchez has got a touch on that.
35:43And that little touch might have been crucial.
35:51Augusto's error.
35:52Grealish here for Everton.
35:54Jack Grealish ghosting through.
35:56And Sanchez made the save.
35:59Well, this was the opportunity.
36:01Jack Grealish ghosting through a couple of defenders but unable to beat Sanchez.
36:10Augusto for Chelsea.
36:13Pedro Neto.
36:17Outside of Mikhelenko's done really well.
36:21He's arguably been Chelsea's liveliest player today.
36:25Malo Gusto.
36:26And in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
36:29He tucks them into a two goal lead.
36:31Well, it's a lovely counter-attacking goal, this.
36:38Gusto carried it.
36:40Delivered it.
36:43And it went.
36:44Return to sender.
36:47Everton will be so frustrated.
36:49Because they've had the chances to level this game.
36:52But right at the end of the first half, Chelsea double their lead.
36:55Sanchez's ball is a good one.
37:05Garnacho's in behind.
37:06And misses again.
37:09Well, it's a great ball by Robert Sanchez.
37:14And Alejandro Garnacho got the run on Everton's Jake O'Brien here.
37:20And he's missed by a lot in the end.
37:22Thomas Tuchel has decisions to make about who plays in the No. 10 role for England.
37:33Has a few contenders.
37:35One of whom has scored here today.
37:39Here's Njai.
37:43O'Brien.
37:45Decent.
37:46And the header from Grealish tipped over.
37:49Not sure it was goal-bound, but Sanchez definitely got something on it.
37:53I don't know how many headed goals Jack Grealish has scored in his career, but this is a good header.
38:04Alcaraz with pace, Grealish wide.
38:08Well, that is the chance that Everton have been working for.
38:15This game has not been a masterclass in finishing, you would have to say.
38:21Here's Mark Kukurela.
38:23Rhys James.
38:25And that's a free kick to Chelsea.
38:32Pedro Neto.
38:35Oh, we'll fancy this.
38:36Rhys James is over it too.
38:39A dramatic pause.
38:43Oh, well hit.
38:44Good free kick this, from Rhys James.
38:56Dibbling.
38:57Through to Alcaraz.
38:58Ily Mananjai.
38:59Ily Mananjai.
39:00Ily Mananjai.
39:01Good feet.
39:02Oh, really unlucky.
39:03Really good play by Ily Mananjai, who is such a talent in a match of plentiful missed opportunities.
39:17Everton come off worse at the bridge again.
39:20Chelsea two, Everton nil.
39:22Losing Kieran was a blow to us, but I thought we adapted quite well.
39:28I know we've come away with a disappointing result, but it certainly wasn't a disappointing performance.
39:33We've done a lot of really good things today and maybe played one of our best games away
39:39from home and we've had some very good results away from home, but we couldn't finish it off.
39:43I wouldn't say I'm at my best yet, you know, obviously I've dealt with, I'm still dealing
39:47with an injury, so hopefully it gets better and better, but I've still got a bit to go.
39:54I know what I can offer when I'm fully fit, so hopefully I'll get there soon.
39:58We're very used now to seeing full-backs playing inverted midfield positions.
40:03Pep started doing that a long time ago.
40:04Never with two, eh?
40:05No, exactly, you've got Rhys James and Malogusto in there.
40:08Yeah, no, they are both good players and when they are good players, for me they can play
40:12in any position.
40:13And he took his goal very well as well, didn't he?
40:15Yeah, yeah, he took the chance, the assist, for called the first goal, so very happy for
40:21Malo.
40:22Well, he was smiling with Steve there, but then Mareska went into his press conference
40:27and said this.
40:30The last 48 hours has been the worst 48 hours since I joined the club, because many people
40:38didn't support us.
40:40What do you mean in terms of the not people supporting you in the last 48 hours?
40:47Worst 48 hours since I joined the club, because people didn't support me and the team.
40:54In general, in general.
40:57Peter?
40:57Do you mean fans or whatever?
41:00I love the fans and we are very happy with the fans.
41:02Well, we'll get on to that in, excuse me, in just a moment.
41:09But that was, yeah, go on, come on, all emotional.
41:12What, what, what did you, it was a big win for Chelsea, that?
41:16It was a huge win after recent results.
41:18Not one in three.
41:21A little bit of discontent around for some reason, because I think there's lots of positives
41:25for Chelsea at the moment.
41:26There has been a few hiccups, but yeah, a bit, a big result.
41:29And the, the start of the show was probably not someone we'd have predicted in Gusto.
41:34What an amazing performance.
41:36Now, we've seen him play occasionally midfield, normally a right-back and then drifting into
41:41these positions.
41:42I mean, this is a wonderful pass.
41:44Palmer dictating where he wants.
41:46Great to see him back for anybody that loves watching football.
41:49And it's, it's perfect pace, good vision.
41:52We've talked about Rhys James many times and how wonderful he is in terms of his technical
41:57ability and passing range, but Gusto's got a lot of that too.
42:00They're actually blessed with two players who can both play right-back and both play midfield.
42:04I mean, he's hitting diagonals with his left foot there from the middle of the pitch.
42:07Incredible array of passes he's capable of.
42:11And then, of course, when he is in his more orthodox full-back position, he's willing to
42:16get forward with the ball, travel with the ball, and then more importantly, not admire
42:20his passing, but get into dangerous areas.
42:22We see him in dangerous areas very often every time we watch Chelsea play.
42:27And again, talk about weak foot finish.
42:30Terrific.
42:31So, he's got a bit of a problem, really, the manager, in James and him.
42:34Do they swap or do they just let them freely swap when they play and work it out, which
42:39is fine from two intelligent players?
42:41Getting in front of Grealish there and again making the right pass, releasing João Pedro
42:45to nearly get them another goal.
42:47So, yeah.
42:47But that's great options to have, isn't it?
42:49Great options.
42:50Very good.
42:50And the great thing as well is he can defend one-on-one.
42:53He's decent with his defensive work.
42:54So, he then goes into that press conference, Moresca.
42:58So, he says, at the last 48 hours, many people don't support us.
43:02He was pushed about whether he meant the fans.
43:04He said, no, I don't have a problem with the fans.
43:06They mentioned the media.
43:07I can't believe he's really that bothered what the media say or don't say about him.
43:10That has to be directed internally, doesn't it?
43:13Well, he wants us and others to talk about that.
43:15We wouldn't have mentioned this at all if he hadn't mentioned it in his press conference.
43:17It wouldn't have even crossed our radar.
43:19There's no doubt about that.
43:21He's directing that at the board of the owners.
43:25And my guess is that he doesn't feel as if he's getting the protection after a defeat like they had in midweek.
43:32And obviously, that hurts him.
43:34But Chelsea's a very different football club now to what it was 20, 15 years ago in terms of who they buy,
43:41the players they want to develop, young players.
43:43And it is difficult to compete with the very best when you're doing that
43:48because it does take time to bed younger players in and develop them.
43:54But in the big picture with Chelsea, I think he's doing a good job.
43:58Well, the big picture, when you look at what the points are that they have gained under him,
44:04you know, he bet that's 13 behind Liverpool.
44:08You know, the only Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City ahead of them.
44:10Do you think he's saying, well, you know, bearing in mind what this business model is,
44:14young players, and we sign them on long-term contracts, but maybe slightly lower wages,
44:18and then we try and sell them on for a profit, some of them.
44:21What more do you expect me to do?
44:23Do you think that's what he's saying?
44:24Yeah, I do, more or less, and I agree with that.
44:27But he's got to be careful.
44:29I think you have to realise the owners you're working for and the club you're working for.
44:34He's been given an amazing opportunity to manage a massive football club
44:38after only managing Leicester.
44:41So, did he expect to gain control because he won the Conference League?
44:47You know, let's put it in perspective.
44:48He's got to be careful.
44:48He starts talking...
44:49He also won the Club World Cup.
44:51And, well, yeah, but you can pull that face,
44:55but they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the final,
44:57and it's a tournament that they value.
45:01He's done well, there's no doubt.
45:02I'm not doubting he hasn't done well.
45:04What I'm saying is that football is ruthless,
45:07and these are multi-billionaire owners,
45:10and if they feel that their manager's talking directly to them
45:12through the press, it's not going to end well for him.
45:15He's got a wonderful opportunity to have success with Chelsea.
45:18Maybe just pick your moments to...
45:20..be quiet.
45:22OK.
45:22That works, it's TV.
45:24I know, I know.
45:25The big thing is, as we said,
45:27if he hadn't have gone into his press conference
45:30and brought this up, none of this would have been mentioned.
45:32So, he clearly wants to talk about it.
45:33Do you think he gets the least credit out of...
45:36You know, when we showed that list there,
45:37so Arteta and Slott and Guardiola and even Emery and Howe,
45:42do you think he gets less credit than those five?
45:44I think Danny's right in what he says in terms of...
45:46He's come from Leicester, now he's at Chelsea.
45:50So, yeah, I think so, yeah.
45:51I don't see an issue with that.
45:52OK.
45:53Now, match of the day didn't exist the last time Fulham won at Burnley.
45:581951, Bob Thomas scored twice.
46:01Steve Bowers at Turfman.
46:0674 years since their last success here
46:08and just four away points all season for Fulham,
46:11who will sense an opportunity to move further away
46:15from the teams below them.
46:17Burnley are one of them.
46:18As Scott Parker faces the club, he served both as a player and a manager.
46:22He's without both Kyle Walker and Lucas Perez through suspension.
46:25So, Twan Zebi and Hartman come in.
46:28Top scorer Fleming is on the bench.
46:31Fulham make just one change
46:33as they welcome back Anthony Robinson into the Premier League fold
46:36for the first time since late September.
46:39Castagne is a substitute.
46:41Smith Rowe makes his 50th Premier League appearance for the club.
46:44forward from Anderson.
46:50Iwobi trying to flick that into the path of Chuck Wazic.
46:53Jimenez is on to the second ball.
46:55Robinson's cross off Foster
46:57for the first corner of the game for Fulham.
47:01More positive from the visitors.
47:06Burnley have everybody back.
47:08Harry Wilson to deliver.
47:10Went for the one at the near post.
47:12And it found its way through
47:14of Emil Smith Rowe.
47:17And inside nine minutes
47:19Fulham are in front.
47:22I think it was Hartman at the near post
47:24who should have dealt with this.
47:26Oh, it is.
47:27It's awful from Hartman.
47:29Burnley will be bitterly disappointed
47:31with the way they've conceded that opening goal.
47:34Smith Rowe ran unopposed
47:37into the six-yard box.
47:39Only Arsenal have now scored more goals
47:42from corners this season than Fulham.
47:48Is there an instant reaction from the home team?
47:50There might be!
47:53Uga Chukwu denied.
47:57Fionn Laino
47:58was alive to the situation here.
48:01Leslie Uga Chukwu
48:03was in his own bit of space.
48:08And he
48:08managed Fulham
48:10105 times.
48:12He played for them
48:12128 times.
48:14But
48:14no affiliation
48:16for the next 90 minutes.
48:19But Larson.
48:23Cullen has options.
48:25Uga Chukwu has won!
48:27And Burnley are level!
48:29His third goal of the season.
48:36Lovely move.
48:38And a much-needed equaliser.
48:42Excellent first touch.
48:43And the second one
48:44nice and cool
48:46into the back of the net.
48:48Just the 16th goal
48:49Burnley have scored all season.
48:51It's a most welcome one
48:52to get them back level
48:55inside 22 minutes.
48:57Burnley one.
48:58Fulham one.
49:01His frustration
49:02is clear
49:04when he sees that equaliser back.
49:08Well,
49:08Smith-Rowe might get to that.
49:09He did.
49:11And Esteve
49:11had to put it behind.
49:13Well,
49:13in fairness,
49:14when Bassey played that ball
49:15Smith-Rowe
49:17looks second favourite.
49:18Ekdahl slightly
49:19misjudged this.
49:21Credit Smith-Rowe.
49:22Floated in by Wilson.
49:29Out as far as Robinson.
49:31That's aimed back towards
49:32Harry Wilson.
49:33Lovely take.
49:35Oh,
49:35it's sat up beautifully.
49:36And Calvin Bassey
49:40couldn't miss.
49:42And Burnley again
49:43have gifted
49:46another goal.
49:48Bassey's third
49:49Premier League strike
49:50for Fulham.
49:50I mean,
49:53it's a lovely take here
49:54from Harry Wilson.
49:56But watch Bassey.
49:59Totally unopposed.
50:01And there are five
50:02Burnley players
50:03inside the six-yard box
50:05when this cross comes in.
50:07And none of them
50:08close enough
50:09to the eventual
50:11goal scorer.
50:13Burnley one,
50:14Fulham two.
50:17Valentino
50:18to pick out Breuer.
50:22Well,
50:22Rocky Mandliss
50:23knows what's coming next.
50:28We took one
50:30for the team.
50:32Nothing subtle
50:33about that.
50:34First yellow
50:35card of the game.
50:37Brilliant from Laino.
50:44Uga Chukwui
50:45on the follow-up.
50:48Well,
50:48Fulham were almost
50:49caught cold there.
50:51Berger at the other end
50:53into Wilson.
50:54Hartman's chasing him.
50:55Harry Wilson.
50:56Hartman did well.
50:59And Burnley survived.
51:02Really quick thinking.
51:04Breuer onside.
51:05Laino did fantastically well
51:07as did Basik
51:07to block the follow-up shot
51:09from Uga Chukwui.
51:11And here,
51:12Hartman did just enough there
51:14right at the end
51:15to block that effort
51:18from Harry Wilson.
51:23The chairman
51:23and manager
51:25hoping to avoid
51:27an unwanted record
51:29record today
51:29if Burnley lose again.
51:31Seven
51:32top flight league
51:33defeats in a row
51:34with their worst run
51:36for 130 years.
51:39All Smith-Rowe
51:40is saved by Laino
51:43because Bryn Larson
51:44was denied
51:47and Emil Smith-Rowe
51:49will be the most relieved
51:51man
51:51inside Turf Moor.
51:59Burn Larson
52:00unable to profit.
52:03It's Burnley
52:03for the second time
52:04today
52:05search for an equaliser.
52:06Twan Zabie
52:07looking for Cullen.
52:11Burnley
52:11managed to use
52:12that well Burnley.
52:16Michael Oliver
52:17unmoved.
52:20As Armando Breuer
52:21was challenged
52:23by Basik
52:23and it's the same
52:26player that goes on
52:26at the other end
52:27here for Fulham.
52:29He's got a man
52:29unmarked
52:30at Chivuese.
52:31Well that was
52:34extraordinary
52:35at both ends
52:35because Calvin Basik
52:37made a talent
52:39that is still
52:40being checked
52:40by Tony Harrington
52:41here
52:42in VAR
52:43on Armando Breuer.
52:47That's been checked
52:48and cleared.
52:50Well what was
52:51Emil Smith-Rowe
52:52thinking here?
52:53Credit again
52:54to Bert Laino
52:55so quickly
52:56off his line.
52:57He was right
52:58on top of
52:58Bryn Larson.
53:01Next goal
53:02in this game
53:03is absolutely
53:04huge.
53:06Berger
53:06and again
53:08that left-hand side
53:10looks particularly
53:11potent here
53:11for Fulham.
53:12Chukwase with
53:13Robinson on the
53:14overlap.
53:15Chukwase instead
53:16trying to find
53:16Harry Wilson!
53:21Clinical
53:21from the
53:23Welsh International
53:23the top scorer
53:25with another
53:25four in seven
53:27games for him
53:28but watch
53:30Robinson
53:30supporting Chukwase.
53:32He made the decoy
53:33run
53:34and then Chukwase
53:36had seen
53:37Wilson
53:37and that's a
53:38finish
53:39of a man
53:40full of
53:41confidence
53:41guided that
53:43into the
53:44bottom corner
53:44and that's a
53:45huge challenge
53:46for Burnley
53:48to come back
53:48from here.
53:49Smith Rowe
53:52out to Robinson
53:54Chukwase on the
53:55move
53:55he stayed
53:56onside
53:56Chukwase
53:57is pulled
53:57back
53:58Wilson
54:00nipped in
54:01Robinson
54:01well in his
54:04140th
54:06Premier League
54:06game
54:07he's never
54:08scored a
54:09Premier League
54:09goal
54:09and a touch
54:11more composure
54:12there
54:12and that
54:14might have
54:14been it
54:15Trezor
54:19now Anthony
54:22Bassi got an
54:26important touch
54:27and so too
54:29did Oliver
54:30the son
54:31lovely take
54:35on the chest
54:36and a
54:36very cool
54:38side-footed
54:38finish
54:39from the
54:40Peru
54:40international
54:41and the
54:43substitute
54:43has reduced
54:44it to
54:453-2
54:46fabulous
54:47control
54:48and the
54:49caution
54:50finish
54:50Leno
54:51didn't move
54:52your goal
54:55in the end
54:55has been
54:56the difference
54:56I mean
54:56this run
54:57you're on
54:57at the moment
54:57that's
54:58four in
54:58seven
54:58games
54:59assists
55:00galore
55:00as well
55:01another two
55:01today
55:01you must
55:02be delighted
55:02with that
55:03yeah I feel
55:03really good
55:04at the minute
55:04like you said
55:05as an attacking
55:05player it's
55:06always good
55:06when your
55:06numbers are
55:07good and
55:08it was nice
55:08to get a
55:09couple of
55:09assists today
55:09especially the
55:10first one
55:10because that's
55:11something we've
55:11worked on this
55:12week and when
55:13you see the
55:14work that you're
55:14putting on the
55:14training ground
55:15coming off on
55:15a Saturday
55:16it's a great
55:16feeling
55:17Marco well
55:18done
55:18how big a win
55:19is that away
55:19from home for
55:20you today
55:20yes big one
55:21big one
55:22difficult place to
55:24come big win
55:25for us
55:26yesterday when I
55:27was questioned
55:28by 75 years
55:30without the
55:30win here I
55:31have to say
55:31with massive
55:32respect of course
55:33with Burnley
55:33and all that
55:33stuff we spoke
55:35about it as to
55:36be tonight that
55:36we have to break
55:37that record we
55:37did it and that
55:38so power fans
55:39they go home and
55:40we just mind
55:41their face that
55:41they deserve and
55:42of course
55:42congratulations to
55:43the players
55:43I've stood in
55:44front of you
55:44guys for the
55:46first 16 or 15
55:47games whatever
55:48it's been saying
55:48the same message
55:49really so in
55:51this division you
55:52can't afford to
55:54give up goals
55:54like we're giving
55:55up goals we were
55:56hugely competitive
55:57today I thought we
55:57had real quality
55:58about us we have
55:59numerous chances
56:00but you give
56:02yourself an absolute
56:03mountain to climb
56:04anyone watching our
56:05game today for the
56:06first time you could
56:07watch back the first
56:0915 odd games and it
56:10would be the same
56:10cycle really and we
56:12need to we need to
56:13fix that mate for
56:14sure
56:14they do don't they I
56:16mean they were so
56:17defensively strong in
56:18the championship last
56:19season but Fulham
56:20really exploited their
56:21problems this season
56:23yeah Fulham and in
56:23particular Harry Wilson
56:24I thought was brilliant
56:25played a major part in
56:27what Fulham did today
56:28but I mean honestly
56:30this defending here is
56:31is amateurish and
56:32that's being polite I
56:33mean you look at
56:34Ekdahl Hartman and
56:35Foster look at the
56:37mistakes that they're
56:38doing Smithrow is
56:39originally there Ekdahl's
56:41meant to be picking
56:42him up Foster's meant
56:44to be at the near post
56:45doing his job as is
56:46Hartman that ball cannot
56:48get past them there but
56:49look at Ekdahl I mean
56:51he doesn't even stop
56:52him at all look he
56:53just like runs past him
56:54no blocking no effort
56:56to get near him Tete
56:57then nudges Foster off
56:59the ball is this is so
57:01easy Hartman doesn't
57:02clear it that's his job
57:03at the near post I
57:04mean there's so many
57:05errors there it must be
57:06driving Scott absolutely
57:08crazy just look at it
57:09here where Smithrow is
57:12and Ekdahl have a look
57:14at his lack of effort to
57:15stop him watch him
57:16seriously is that the
57:18best that you can give
57:19or do as a professional
57:21when you're meant to be
57:22staying with your
57:23player and that's why
57:24they're conceding goals
57:25because it doesn't
57:26really matter enough and
57:28then all of a sudden
57:29criticise them again on
57:31here to Inzebi he can
57:34see where Bassey is
57:36there behind him he
57:36knows where he is he
57:37doesn't even jump and
57:39he just shoves him off
57:40the ball because Bassey
57:42wants it more than he
57:43does look at that get
57:44off you're not having
57:45that ball and that's the
57:47reason they're conceding
57:48the goals and again you
57:50have a look at you have
57:51a look at the players
57:52here is is there enough
57:53effort to get back to
57:54here I'm not quite sure
57:57there is I thought you
57:58were waiting for one of
57:59us to answer that
58:00the answer is not because
58:03it's free there and
58:04there's not enough effort
58:05to try and track Harry
58:07Wilson at all that is a
58:08great finish and he played
58:09a huge part in that and
58:11he's brilliant to do Harry
58:12Wilson but the defending
58:13from Burnley at times
58:15goodness me dreadful they
58:16do have a lot they do
58:18have a lot of attacking
58:19options though Fulham
58:19don't they I mean they're
58:21terrible numbers for Burnley
58:22but Fulham do have
58:23attacking options they do
58:24but they've actually not
58:25converted a lot of the
58:26chances they've made
58:27recently Jimenez hasn't
58:29scored many and and
58:30Munoz is injured of course
58:32the key for Fulham now
58:33moving forward is to try
58:34and get Marco Silva tied
58:35down and that's going to
58:36be you know we'll have to
58:38wait and see on that
58:38probably till January
58:39and they've never signed
58:41a midfielder from
58:42Liverpool who's made such
58:43an impact as Harry
58:44Wilson has
58:45Arsenal made hard work
58:47I've got to move on
58:48Danny shush
58:49let's show you the league
58:50table Arsenal made hard
58:51work of it but they're
58:52five points clear after
58:53their win over Wolves
58:54Chelsea have moved back
58:55into the top four
58:55Liverpool now up to
58:57sixth Everton and
58:58Brighton dropped to
58:59eighth and ninth
59:00respectively Wolves
59:01remain eight points
59:02adrift at the foot of
59:03the table Burnley also
59:05lost so they're still
59:05five from safety
59:06Fulham's win has moved
59:08them towards mid-table
59:09security that's it
59:11thanks to Danny and
59:13Alan won't be any
59:13consolation to Wolves
59:14fans but the fact that
59:15the winner went down as
59:16an own goal has saved
59:18us from a terrible
59:18Jesus Christmas
59:19farewell link goodbye
59:38we'll see you next time
59:39bye
59:40bye
59:41bye
59:43bye
