00:00It's important, I think, to frame this game in a certain light.
00:04There are obviously two ways you can look at it.
00:06Patriots are up 21-0 at home.
00:08You don't blow leads like that if you're a good team.
00:11However, this was a young team.
00:14We say this every week.
00:16Snaps from rookies this season.
00:18I think the Patriots are second in the National Football League in that category.
00:21It's a team that didn't know how to win a game like this,
00:24and that was clear in the second half.
00:27Andrew, how do you look at this?
00:29Do you look at it as a good team who blew a lead they shouldn't have
00:32or rookies that hadn't been there before that were taught a very valuable lesson?
00:37No, this is a good team that blew it,
00:40and I think there is a lesson to be taken here,
00:43and they all know it that, as I wrote after the game,
00:46you can't commit the cardinal sin of surviving a horror movie,
00:48which is exactly what this game became once they went up 21-0,
00:52and that you've got to kill off the villain, in this case the Bills,
00:54in this case the division champions, when you have the chance,
00:57and they did not early in that second half when Drake May,
01:00who was 9-11 at halftime, goes 5-12 after that,
01:04and part of it was taking sacks.
01:06The interception was whatever.
01:07It was basically an arm punt, but he was inaccurate,
01:09and the simplest analysis going into this game was the right one,
01:13because when you look at the construction of both of these teams,
01:16the quarterback who plays best was going to win this game.
01:19It was obviously Drake May in the first half,
01:21but what Josh Allen did in the second half, of course, with James Cook,
01:25is what won this game for Buffalo,
01:27and deeper stats would tell you this was just the third inaccurate performance
01:31of Drake May's season by completion percentage over expected.
01:35That's a third in the last five games,
01:37so there's something here where he's kind of,
01:40I'm not saying regressed because he's still great,
01:42he's going to be fine,
01:43but when he's not at his best,
01:46which is to be expected sometimes,
01:48the Patriots are going to suffer because of how much is on his shoulders.
01:50That's what this was about to me.
