00:00All right, so disguising through Drake off a little bit,
00:03one of the things we had worried about was would he be up to the task
00:08of seeing some tricks and some stunts being pulled by the defense?
00:13Would he be ready for that?
00:14But the other thing that you just mentioned was, all right,
00:17even if he weren't ready for it, if there's someone open
00:20and he can get the ball out when he's seen something he's not expecting,
00:23it seems like because they were able to apply pressure by only rushing four,
00:28they had everyone covered downfield,
00:31and guys, with the exception of a couple of key plays,
00:34and we all saw them in real time, and I'm sure you've seen them since then,
00:37where Drake just missed open guys, didn't see them, didn't throw to them,
00:42or did throw to them and missed the open receiver.
00:44But I'd say for the most part, Seattle was doing a good job of covering,
00:48which they were able to do because they were only sending four in the first place.
00:52Yes, and look, some of this stuff downfield, too,
00:55is just as rough as the protection, if we're being honest.
00:57We remember that Kayshawn Booty route along the left sideline.
01:00It was a third down, and it was a curl,
01:02and Josh Jobe just elbowed him out of bounds.
01:05That was a bad route from start to finish.
01:08Austin Hooper, Nate Tice from Yahoo Sports has tweeted this clip a couple of times.
01:11A corner route that just goes flat, and he slows down.
01:14But the concept that McDaniels...
01:16Is that the one where May missed Hooper when he was wide open?
01:19Yeah.
01:19So Hooper gave up on that route.
01:21He slowed down, and the angle he took was not a 45-degree,
01:24which you're supposed to do on a corner route.
01:25This was something closer, I mean, like, no one's getting out the protractor,
01:28but, like, 30 degrees flat towards the sideline.
01:30You're like, what's going on?
01:32At least go full speed if you're going to run the wrong route,
01:34and he did neither running the right route or going full speed.
01:37So this is the stuff where people love to do,
01:41oh, was it Drake?
01:42Or was it the coaching?
01:43Or was it the protection of the receivers?
01:44When it's this bad, it's everybody.
01:46You're just doing blame pie now.
01:48I start very closely with coaching,
01:52and then you could argue second or third, Drake,
01:54and then the protection of the receivers.
01:57Like, I mean, if you really want to divvy it up,
01:58protection is number one, but that's going to include coaching and players.
02:01Then I would go Drake within a bad scheme for McDaniels and the receivers.
02:05But there's no...
02:06No one's getting absolved from this kind of performance.
02:08No one's getting absolved from this kind of performance.
