00:00Mike, what did you have the Patriots in the preseason?
00:05What did you think your predictions were going to be?
00:08So I remember this, Fred.
00:09I was on with our afternoon guys, Beetle, Zoe, and Tim,
00:16and we were talking about wind projections.
00:17And I said, I feel comfortable going 8 to 10 in that range.
00:21And I think I remember saying a successful season would be
00:26if we get to that bye week in early December,
00:30and they're still alive in the playoffs.
00:33And maybe they can catch a little momentum down the stretch.
00:37And if they can get into the playoffs,
00:39that would be a great sort of foundational building block.
00:43But I think there was one day, Fred, that I think I had to pick a number
00:47and I went to the lower side.
00:48I was more to the 8 side.
00:50I figured double the wins from last year, that's still pretty good.
00:53All right.
00:54So we were talking about the differences between the regular season
00:57and the playoffs in regards to the offense.
01:03What did you learn about the offense this postseason?
01:08Do you think that the way they performed in the regular season,
01:11that if the one tangible thing that maybe you could take out of
01:16the regular season's schedule,
01:19do you think the offense is playing as well as it did during the regular season
01:23was a result of the schedule, basically, is the best way to ask it?
01:27Oh, no, I don't think so, Fred.
01:31I don't think I would say that.
01:32I think probably, because I think you're looking at what Drake said after the game
01:37where he said they haven't played their best offense in the playoffs.
01:40I sort of credit the opponents.
01:43Like, I think they just faced three of the best defenses in the league.
01:47I think a lot of teams struggle against those defenses,
01:50and maybe I'm too easy on that, and certainly they can play better,
01:53but I think it's more about the other team than what they're doing.
01:56Well, in fairness, May could win the MVP,
02:01and he threw for 80 yards yesterday,
02:04and the first half was not weather-related.
02:07So it's not even a negative.
02:09Your offense played better than the three teams that you played.
02:12Your quarterback never crapped himself the way that the other quarterbacks
02:16that you played did.
02:18So it's not taking anything away.
02:20It's just projecting forward to the Super Bowl.
02:25Yeah.
02:25You know, May obviously wasn't as effective in these three games.
02:30Do you think it was weather?
02:31Do you think it was the defenses?
02:33How did you read that?
02:34So I think each one was different, Greg.
02:37I think that there's the first couple games, you know,
02:40obviously the turnovers were a big part of it.
02:43There were none in this game.
02:44I thought that was huge.
02:45I think this is a game where obviously the first half offensively,
02:49it's going to be hard to win, you know,
02:52if that's what it is over four quarters.
02:56They got the running game going.
02:58I think that's the main thing.
02:59I think that if you're asking me, and I haven't watched it over yet,
03:02what happened in the first half,
03:04they were trying so hard to get the running game going,
03:07using the short passing game as an extension of the run game,
03:10and they couldn't get it going.
03:13And then they went into halftime,
03:15and they got it going in the second half,
03:17and I think you saw a different offense.
