00:00My everyday outfits I would describe as a 13 year old boy.
00:04It's a V for Vanna, ha ha ha!
00:08As you can see now, I'm not wearing any pants because they're camouflaged, so you can't see them.
00:30Hello, my name is Vanna, you might recognize me from the bus video I did.
00:45And we are in Chicago right now at the House of Blues.
00:48And yeah, we're doing style analysis today.
00:53Unfortunately, my big package of costumes has been lost in the road, so it's currently
01:00being shipped back and forth between senders and hopefully we'll get it before the next
01:05couple shows.
01:06Which would have been a shame because I could have shown you all these cool things that myself
01:09and my stylist have worked together to kind of build over the past couple months.
01:13But right now, we'll show you what we do have.
01:17Starting with these beautiful masks that are handmade, with love, by Fantomacy.
01:24Like a couple months ago, I saw Fantomacy on my Instagram and I was like, holy fuck, that's
01:30so cool and they're so talented.
01:33And I've always wanted to have masks for my band members.
01:35Previously, we tried 3D printing some masks last time, I used a Winter Soldier print file
01:43from online and we tried printing them out before the tour and it didn't really work
01:48out.
01:49Matthew wore it.
01:50Almost every...
01:51Matthew wore the Winter Soldier mask.
01:52Yes.
01:53Almost every single show last year, but the boys on stage couldn't really breathe in it,
01:57so they wore gator masks instead.
01:59But this time, we actually have it.
02:01So these are my ladies.
02:05So as you can see, they're all slightly different from each other.
02:09I wanted each one to have their own kind of personal flair.
02:13I kind of let Fantomacy take her own creative liberties for most of it.
02:16I just told her, hey look, I just want black and red and I want my logo to be on it.
02:22And she was like, say less.
02:23And she designed these fucking insanely beautiful things.
02:26This one looks like a bug.
02:28This one looks like a bug as well and that one also looks like a bug.
02:31But they're all very cool bugs.
02:32And mine kind of looks like a Gundam mask.
02:34Gundam guy.
02:35Yeah.
02:36So I thought that was cool.
02:37I really liked how this was evil looking.
02:42I didn't want to do horns because I felt like that's overdone.
02:45I like how this is kind of like, you know, like, what's her name, Maleficent vibes.
02:53And I asked if she could sew on some beads on my one to make it look like blood droplets.
03:00Also, it's a V for Vanna.
03:05So funny and cool.
03:07Yeah.
03:08So they're all kind of look really good together.
03:12They're completely transparent.
03:14Everyone can see through them quite well.
03:15What?
03:16You can see through them?
03:17Yeah.
03:18I don't have any issues really.
03:19Yeah.
03:20So they're really, really good.
03:21I recommend hitting up Phantom to see if you ever need some masks.
03:24She's so talented, but yeah, I'm really, really happy with these.
03:29They are so cool and so pretty.
03:31So traveling with these bad boys.
03:32We have these mannequins just in case they get crushed and we need to reform them.
03:38Usually we travel with them in this little box here.
03:44So we kind of just place them very nicely and my one goes on top because it has this
03:46little thing.
03:47It's detachable, but I never really take it off because I love it so much.
03:52So yeah, we just kind of pop in this case so that they're very nice and snug and safe
03:57on the road.
03:58So me and my stylist Cass have worked for the past like two months on building this kind
04:03of like aesthetic for stage because I think it's really important how people are dressed
04:08on stage.
04:09I think it's part of the theatrics.
04:10I love theatrical stuff, big fucking nerd over here.
04:13So it was really important to me.
04:16So we kind of put together a Pinterest board of our favorite things.
04:19We have a bunch of references, very like Renaissance kind of vibes and how we can like bring that
04:25into like a modern approach.
04:29We love lots of like heels and stuff, but I'm not that nimble, unfortunately.
04:34So we will be using a lot of platform boots so that, you know, I feel a little bit taller
04:40than I am, although I am 6'1", you know, I just want to make that very clear.
04:44I am 6'1", and that is the truth on a good day.
04:50So she's put together this like Google Slides document, which I can show you, with shape,
04:57textures, concepts, accessories, bottoms, corsets, and she's reached out to a lot of cool brands
05:05that have been like super keen to work with me and they've sent me some really cool items.
05:09So we're working with Jeffrey Campbell, Dollskill, Bat Norton, The End, Thistle and Spire, Blackwood
05:18Castle, Affection Boulevard, and Selkie, which is super cool, and a couple things from my
05:24own closet and from Cass's closet.
05:27She's dyed a couple of her things to reuse them and repurpose them.
05:32It's pretty cool.
05:33Jewelry as well from like Ask and Embla and Regal Rose.
05:38All the shoes gifted, dresses, and all of that, cool dresses, cool layering things, and you
05:48can see here, hang on, style out.
05:52So Cass has put together everything that we can pair to kind of make these outfits work,
05:58which is awesome because Cass's brain is so cool and she's thought of these things that
06:02I couldn't think of.
06:04It's really cool.
06:05Some people are just like made for this.
06:07So it's also good because, you know, when you're kind of busy sound checking, doing
06:12VIP, getting your day ready, not having to think about what to pair together sometimes
06:17is super good.
06:18It takes a big weight off your shoulders.
06:20So most of the pieces that I have are either black or red, which is super cool.
06:26So a lot of them are really easily mixed and matched together so that we can create just
06:30like a bunch of different kind of layers and different outfits with all the same clothes,
06:35things and re-use and stuff like that.
06:38The boys kind of wear the same thing every night.
06:40It's very Japanese influenced, very like faggy street style, Harajuku style.
06:47And just depending on the day, depending on the laundry stops is important for them.
06:53But for myself, it's basically as many outfits that Cass and I can kind of mix and match
06:58together just to create some really cool, unique outfits.
07:03So for my makeup, I can never live without eyeliner.
07:07That is a big thing.
07:08I use just NYX eyeliner.
07:10It's so cheap and it's like the easiest to find everywhere because I always either lose
07:15them or run out a lot.
07:19Another big thing on tour that I need to really keep in mind is my hair.
07:23It is very red and I'd like to keep it that way.
07:26So what I do, people always ask me this question, how do you keep your hair red?
07:29I put red dye into, do not judge my dirty ass makeup bag.
07:37I put red dye into my conditioners and my shampoos and my hair masks so that every time I refresh
07:44my hair with like conditioner, it like re-dyes it.
07:48So that is a hack for all of my mentally ill dyed hair, girlies or boilies or everything
07:55in between.
07:56That is definitely a hack that you should use.
08:00For my foundation, the best one I've found is, oh, sorry.
08:09Yeah my foundation that I use, oh my god, this is how I look through my makeup every day.
08:16So I hope that helps.
08:18Super professional is Estee Lauder Double Wear.
08:21This stays on.
08:22This stays on, it's really hard to get off.
08:26So you really have to spend time taking it off otherwise your skin will be very not happy
08:29with you.
08:30I use lip stains on stage too because otherwise if you use lipstick it like gets on the mic
08:37and gets everywhere and it's not fun.
08:41For contour and eyeshadow, I used this palette that I got three years ago.
08:45Makeup technically expires after a year.
08:49I say bah humbug.
08:51No way bro, I'm getting my dosh's worth.
08:54I can't even read it.
08:55I'm pretty sure they didn't even sell it in this shade again.
08:58They like redid the shades so that the grey tone.
09:01This is like a warm tone one and I don't know what I'm going to do when I run out because
09:06they have discontinued it so Too Faced, if you're listening, holy fuck, can you bring
09:12it back please, thank you.
09:16For concealer, I use Charlotte Tilbury and everything else is pretty like mix and matchable.
09:25For my application, I use like actual paint brushes because I found that makeup brushes
09:29are one, super overpriced and two, these ones are like super precise, so I literally, I
09:36don't know, I went to a craft store and I just got like normal paint brushes and this
09:40is how I apply my concealer with like a normal like school paint brush.
09:44That is a hack to use as well.
09:46For primer, I have this one, Grown Alchemist.
09:52I've just recently started using it.
09:54My skin all of a sudden has decided that it's really sensitive and I'm a stupid baby, stupid
09:59little crybaby idiot and I can't use just anything now, so that's cool.
10:05So I use that and it seems to like not disagree with my skin.
10:08And then I use this, if you were a teenager in the 2017 era, you might be scarred by this
10:18product.
10:19I was not unfortunately scarred so I haven't learned my lesson, but this is what I use.
10:24It's Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pomade, which if you were a girl in 2017, you might
10:34know the horror stories about it.
10:37Yeah, and then also a really good thing for my stupid baby idiot skin is this green color
10:44correcting thing.
10:45It takes away your redness and it also creates a barrier between your face and makeup.
10:50Because wearing makeup every single day, especially like the amount that you should when you're
10:54on stage, is just not awesome.
10:56It's like probably human shouldn't be doing it, which is why my skin is probably mad at
11:00me.
11:01But this is a good thing to do.
11:03Skincare is very important.
11:04So my everyday outfits I would describe as 13 year old boy.
11:10I have this alter ego, his name is Kyle, and that is who I am when I am not Vana.
11:14I always wear jorts, jorts are a big thing I wear.
11:18I actually made jorts from merch online and I got some of them for samples and I wear them
11:25all the time.
11:26So jorts and oversized t-shirt and as you can see now, I'm not wearing any pants because
11:35they're camouflaged, so you can't see them, which is crazy.
11:43Yeah I very much am, I feel like because I dress up so much on stage and I get to dress
11:50up and wear all these crazy costumes, when I'm not performing I very much value Kyle time,
11:57I call it.
11:59So Kyle time is really good.
12:00It was funny, we went to Vans in Chicago and one of the workers, Jay, recognized us and
12:05he goes, it's so weird, like you're wearing normal clothes and I was like, yes, that is
12:10what we tend to do when we're not.
12:12I think it's funny, people might assume that I'm always wearing leather, not truly the case.
12:17Not truly the case, I'm normally Kyle.
12:18So accessories, I am a big fan of Ask and Embla.
12:23They are my goats, they make some really cool chain things, very medieval themed, I really
12:32love them.
12:34I'm wearing a ring by them right now and I have a couple more.
12:38I got this ring and a couple more in Moab, Utah in this little jewelry store and I really
12:45love them.
12:46They reminded me of the Lord of the Rings so I got them.
12:49So this is another one from Utah from that same store.
12:51I really liked it, it looked like Galadriel so I got it.
12:55And then, same with this one, this one was red, like a red teardrop so I also thought that
12:59was pretty cool.
13:02This one is also from Ask and Embla, it's Sacred Heart.
13:06I love how medieval Ask and Embla is, it's really cool.
13:09And then this one is a snake one which is kind of cool because I have a song called Serpentine,
13:14so I really like this ring, it's from Regal Rose.
13:19This one, I think I actually think that this is a pants chain from, I can't even remember.
13:30I'm thinking it's from a brand called Dangerfield in Australia and New Zealand.
13:34I think it was, I wanted to dye this pair of pants black because it was blue and I took
13:40the chain off and I was like wait this is kind of a cool necklace.
13:42And then this one I got in a market in Vancouver when I was camping.
13:47There was like a little market before the ferry.
13:50And this is the only necklace that I can wear like every day, every night.
13:54I don't have to take it off because it doesn't overstimulate me because the chain is so thin.
13:58So it's really nice.
13:59I think this is tourmaline?
14:00I don't know what it does but it looked cool so.
14:04Thank you so much for hanging out with me and delving into my style, my questionable style.
14:11My name is Vonna.
14:12I have a song coming out called Pray on November 20th and look out for a potential headline
14:18tour early next year.
14:19Yeah.
14:20Okay.
14:21Yeah.
14:22Okay.
14:23Yeah.
14:24Okay.
14:25Whoo.
14:26Theme exact Uhh.
14:27Ha ha.
14:28Yeah.
14:29Okay.
14:30You
