00:00when we reached the last night at Wembley Stadium in London all of us felt such satisfaction we've
00:15had so many special moments where just like it just reminds me what a concert can do if you give
00:23it your all then again no matter how good a tour is it's a huge massive undertaking it's hard work
00:34that's the challenge that's the adventure and that's what every person on this tour is doing
00:45every single night no matter what's going on we're gonna do everything in our power to blow your mind
00:53my goal for the Ares tour is that I didn't want the fans to leave thinking that they missed out on
01:21anything one thing I've always tried to do is like give something to the fans that they didn't
01:27expect when we had done the first half of the tour what the fans didn't know at the time was that I was
01:34writing a brand new album the torture poets department and in the middle of me releasing
01:39the album we had to be all hands on deck creating a brand new era to put into the show to represent
01:45that album doing all of this completely secretly all in like a tiny little break that we had between
02:00Asia and Europe are there sounds from fortnight that are not the synth sound or do we go into like
02:07strings like this feels like a highly elevated chapter we build this top-secret rehearsal facility
02:16for us to lock in the set list go who's afraid a little bit of down bad probably a verse and a
02:25chorus or a pre-chorus and a chorus that might be it like I would kind of do surgical tweakings to each
02:31song be like okay these songs but cut out the bridge and the second verse of this and then to
02:40tell me everything is not about me to make it so that we could fit this many songs in the show and say
02:48they didn't do it to hurt me everyone and and I want and and and double as big for I wanna snarly I'm
02:57gonna have a mental breakdown during this song like it's gonna be so fun and then we put together
03:04all new choreography learning choreography all just hearing it in our heads because they can't play the
03:11music on speakers because it's not out yet the first line is did you really beam me up what I want
03:17is for a light to spotlight right on me like it's the alien ship right into this like crazy like alien
03:27like and then yeah there's an entirely new order of the chapters so I'm relearning the entire show
03:39essentially it feels crazy to like take all the pieces apart and then put them together in different
03:46order yeah and I think I'd rather feel this way where I'm a little bit confused a little bit like
03:52what go what then being like on autopilot yeah because I could do the show we were doing in Asia
03:58I could do it myself yeah at first we're all like we all fear change but then we're like we got this
04:03yeah but we're here we got here because we accepted challenges our whole lives oh my god that was a risk
04:07that could have gone so bad there was the danger that we it could have felt like we had sort of
04:12shoehorned something in or that you know people didn't like the new show as much as they like the old
04:18show I swear to god if I heard people online being like I missed the old show I was going to be like
04:23oh my god you have no idea how hard this was to do we're going to get to watch 45,000 people
04:29experience the fact that they're seeing something that's never been seen before
04:33I went out to play our first show of the new set in Paris the crowd has no idea that we've added a
04:41completely new section and rearranged things and and I am so so excited I love having a good secret
04:49when we brought out this new show in Paris it was so rewarding because all of that secrecy and all of
04:58that working during our only time off paid off so much because the fans were so excited it was such a
05:05dynamic new addition to the show now going into the last show in London I have the opportunity to
05:14add to their experience even on top of that Taylor wants to make the last London show as powerful as
05:24possible she's like I want to blow this thing out we're gonna do this right she wants to do Florida
05:29with Florence Welch Florence and the Machine performing Florida with Florence is something
05:36I've wanted to do ever since the two of us wrote that song and then it just so happened that she
05:40was going to be available in London you're not nervous about the show you know you know how it
05:45runs and suddenly something like Florence coming to do Florida the choreography meets the music meets
05:53automation which is the stage movement is starting from scratch again I know that when I say to them
06:00I want to perform Florida with Florence and I really want to do it with full production I know that it's
06:05some kind of creative brainstorming sessions but I know it's doable because all the dancers the
06:11choreographers the production designers the crew the entire band every person we have is the best one
06:18doing it in the entire industry this is kind of funny we have to rehearse the song we kind of do what
06:35we usually do in the comfort of a studio from the road but also trying to keep things from leaking
06:43before the surprise it's a stadium with no roof so there's like fans outside and say I have to turn
06:48the PA off and we have to do it quietly you know it is so much extra work to keep things a surprise
07:00let me tell you I I need a nap just thinking about it but it's so worth it when it when we can actually
07:06pull it off your programming sounds at soundcheck the dancers are finding a place to work on
07:14choreography for it where people can't find out what's happening you know before you know it I'm
07:18in a random ballroom in the middle of the hotel with Amanda at like 9 30 at night maybe then maybe
07:27you come off there for open up on the into the diagonals maybe with choreography I asked one of
07:37my friends Emma Stone who's done a lot of work in dance in her films you know who have you worked
07:42with that you would recommend for this and she's like there's only one person that needs to be on
07:45your list and it's Mandy Moore I never would have thought that I would be in the same sentence as
07:51Taylor Swift ever in my life you know I've always been a big fan but I funny enough I come from really
07:57more film and television I don't really do artists performance now I understand why I was brought
08:03in because she really wanted to do something different and she likes the storytelling I mean
08:07her songs are mini movies so when I listen to them it's just lyrics and melody swirling with ideas in
08:15my head and then you just start making something yeah is there something about that like thought that
08:20yeah and then all of a sudden it comes out yeah do you want to do seven beautiful gorgeous man love
08:33like one two Amanda Balin the first time that I saw her do her thing she was choreographing the tour
08:41she was not a dancer her job was to show me what I'd be doing with the dancers I would just get so
08:51much inspiration from what she was doing as a performer I just kept saying like you're such a pop
08:56star Amanda this was my dream truly it was my dream to do live shows and tour like this more so than
09:06Broadway or anything I just I always was drawn to this I actually haven't looked at these I just
09:13keep throwing them in I started out by doing small things and then I booked a job as a swing for a Janet
09:21Jackson tour which was oh I'd always wanted to dance for her I went on to tour with Celine Dion what else
09:28have I done oh oh I danced for Lady Gaga for five plus years I toured for five years straight I worked
09:35on Glee which was a long-standing dancing TV show for a while that was a wonderful job I went on to
09:41do some films like La La Land I've performed at probably every major award show with different
09:47artists and I've been a part of many tours as much as you want it to last forever dance isn't a forever
09:58career the demand on your body is not sustainable we can get this strong when you do all those you
10:04know wild movements then this can stabilize your spine helping I have two labral tears and my hip
10:11flexors like things are just breaking down I kind of just decided it was a very tough decision but to
10:17gracefully start to peel myself away from being a professional dancer and to do things behind the scenes
10:25I remembered asking Mandy I wonder if Amanda would ever dance with us and Mandy was like ah she's
10:34she's retired she hung up her dancing shoes a while ago at some point Mandy came to me and said hey the
10:41team wants to know if you want to do the show my first response to being asked to the tour was a
10:46chuckle and oh hell no I don't even know if I could do it being involved in the behind the scenes and then
10:52doing it on stage those are two different things I had doubts in my ability I was worried that I
10:59wasn't going to be as good as I was when I was dancing but at the end of the day even though there
11:05was a lot of fear it was just too wonderful of an opportunity a second chant I get chills it was a
11:12second chance that most people don't get to have we're counting this song in fast state so it'll be
11:22oh one two three four five six seven eight oh one two three four five seven eight she says um and a
11:30five two three four on five it's the word weed and you guys are going to kind of do like a little bit
11:36of a deflate and my friends all smell like weed yeah yeah weed or little babies and you'll roll up
11:45uh-huh and on the five of the fifth and my friends all smell like weed or little one two three four
11:52five five six seven eight okay just so you have an idea and then guys went loose
11:57hey Dewey Amanda and I were in like an empty ballroom last night just like okay let's just get
12:08open like idiots you just sing Amanda and I as you can imagine it's the normal okay Florida I want gang
12:15gang gang gang gang it's a hell of a drug it is always weird I think with choreography because
12:22it is true it's like literally a week ago this thing didn't exist and my friends all smell like
12:27weed okay so with the exact oh do you want to do this and just roughly but oh freaking great I was
12:32like why do they all just do this and then like the dancers become the accessories to Taylor and to
12:39the stage and to the whole experience so it's a really important thing and I take it very seriously
12:45you know I always get nervous when I'm showing Taylor something for the first time because I
12:50ultimately I just want to do well you know like I want to make her happy because I just you know so
12:56much respect for her I love her I mean I was really terrified the first time I had to store something
13:01we can figure this out together
13:04but luckily you know since the very early stages of this her and I have a really nice communication
13:12Taylor can give me thoughts or colors or ideas and I think I'm able to understand what she wants
13:25visually I want to kind of channel like uh rights of spring Florence machine like like like it's taking
13:31our body yeah like like fully like like reaching you know like like kind of like um like girl in an
13:39insane asylum slash wood nymph love it yeah so I mean yes wasn't nervous I'm always nervous I'm always
13:46sweating I'm like oh god did I make the right thing is this bad choices hello how are you really good
13:53how are you doing all right do you want to watch one I would think kind of see I'll do uh Florence's
13:58track uh we're just doing the speaker right here yeah yeah okay guys ready to move yes okay go for
14:0440 306 one two three you can stand by 40 306.11
14:10oh I love that go
14:28oh my god
14:55and then feel like you guys can play here
15:12and then yeah you made this like wave wow could it be kind of cool huh cool I hate that it's
15:21happening without us there you could do it earlier if you want just didn't know if it was
15:27whoa so epic back there and no one's gonna look at it no no because they're gonna be looking at you
15:32and I almost wish that me and Florence could be on that I mean that would be fucking amazing
15:39and she's up for it yeah I'm worried if me and Florence are here there's people aren't gonna look
15:44at it and I and that bothers me and also I think Florence is like gonna be really she's totally
15:50down for for like being in the mix and doing cool stuff and I did my best like and there to rest
15:56all of the bodies in the body and my mind they sink into the smoke I'll be awesome if it goes down
16:05then it rises and did you know and totally right then it all rises at the same fucking time and it's
16:15awesome and everyone sees it good okay let's run one more time and now that I've had this chat with
16:21Taylor then I can fix all we have all the elements I just now to need to rework them okay good job guys
16:27thank you so much a lot of the time when you are casting for a tour um you know choreographers will
16:34sometimes have it in their head that uh they want a specific body type they want a specific look
16:41they want only women they want only men it's it they people can get very opinionated about
16:46um things looking very uniform that's not what I wanted to do with the errors tour I feel like
16:53when you look up on stage as a fan if you see people that represent you your friends the people
16:59you see in the world that's I think much more emotional and more connective and powerful I really
17:06wanted everyone to look up on that stage and think I see myself in that person
17:11spaces like the space that Taylor is curating on a day on a night-to-night basis I wish we had more of
17:21that right even outside of entertaining it's so important to be seen to be heard to be understood
17:30my background as a dancer I had a lot of teachers and professors who were not so kind
17:40mostly around my size and and if I wanted to be a professional dancer I would need to lose weight
17:46I remember doing an audition and the director of the company said to me okay so what are we going to do
17:52about your body in life some people are going to try to tear you down they want you to do something else
18:00other than the thing that you are in love with and then there are kind people who ground you and
18:07in my experience that's my mom and my brother it's important to know I came from a family with an excess
18:16of love right my mother sacrificed a lot for my brother and I to just have experiences
18:23and so my brother he fell in love with sports I fell in love with dance and we were sort of navigating
18:31our training at the same time middle school high school college and it has been
18:38the joy of my life to watch him thrive in something that he loves so so much
18:45now he plays in the NFL and I watched my brother go to the Super Bowl three times
18:52I graduated college and thought I was going to be teaching dance for the rest of my life
18:57and I remember getting a email that said there's a closed audition we cannot disclose who the artist
19:04is but it's being choreographed by Mandy Moore I didn't have like a dollar to my name at the time
19:10and I called my brother I was like listen I don't know what this is but something is telling me that
19:22I have to be in this room he was like okay we will make it happen and he bought me a flight
19:29when he came into the audition it's just like he's magnetic I mean he's a great dancer his smile is
19:42like the thousand watt smile you know he's really well trained he just embodies what I felt was like
19:49the spirit of what these people need to be Cam is someone who absolutely lights up not only the stage
19:56but just our entire vibe as a tour he's just so himself I don't want dancers that blend in
20:04I don't care about them pulling focus I want them to pull focus I want you to feel like you saw
20:09an entire crew of individual stars on the stage
20:14now knowing that spaces like this do exist for me that allow me to be the fullest
20:25version of me with with all I have to offer in this body as it exists right now
20:32this feels like my Super Bowl
20:37I woke up with a cat on my head
20:49bonus day is so important because setting a precedent with the heiress tour is really important to me
21:11because people who work on the road if the tour grosses more they get more of a bonus and these
21:17people just work so hard and they are the best at what they do so every single person on the crew
21:24I've handwritten them a note it took me a couple weeks but it's fun to write the notes it's like fun
21:30to to think about everybody's lives that they're going to go back to and the time off they're going
21:34to have and you know the kids they haven't seen because they've been away from months and it just
21:39making that worthwhile for them is like really it just it feels like Christmas morning when you finally get to
21:46say thank you
21:53so each one is in its own bag and I was thinking we can lay them out
21:57oh let me see the wax seal
22:01you wax sealed every one of these things yeah and I got in the fire department almost had to come
22:07I want to show you this Taylor six of the audio guys got this tattoo it says cruel summer 152 shows
22:16oh my god and then I don't know crazy I don't know if you remember but on reputation why is it a grim
22:23reaper I have no idea they have to keep it like scary they can't like have like a tattoo of like a
22:29butterfly and a kitty cat I think I think what that means is 152 dates almost killed them but they made
22:36it oh my god that is exactly what it is that's what it means that's the reality of it yeah jesus yeah
22:40I'll go behind again get rid of the bags get rid of the bags it's a bit forensic
22:44uh
23:00everybody has the same message on their card so I was hoping you could open it but before you look at
23:06yours I just wanted to say guys this this leg of this tour has been harder than anything I've ever
23:13done in a live setting and you guys have taken this on with such excitement and such curiosity
23:19and such the endurance you've shown um but the spirit you've shown how much you've given to these
23:24crowds that gives to me every single night the tour has done really well thanks to all of our hard
23:31work so if you will kindly read this message okay oh
23:43there's cam we've traveled the world like we set out to do we've dazzled the crowds but we've missed
23:49family too my full gratitude doesn't come from a bank but here's
23:54all this just to say things
23:59all this just to say things
24:07my father was the one that presented the checks to our drivers and he presented handwritten letters
24:23from taylor it's incredible I know tour truck drivers and I've asked do artists usually give out these big
24:28bonuses unheard of
24:36he's emotional oh my god do you need a hug are you okay i'm gonna pass out
24:50and the first walks uh you know it felt nice if you were gonna slow first and then you round the corner
25:09everybody's got their things they're good at uh it's taken me a really long time to be even
25:15fine at choreography mandy knows how to approach teaching me choreography from a lyrical perspective
25:24what were you doing this these little steps yeah they're just steps um yeah so just starting with
25:28your uh did you think oh yeah oh it's really oh good town you'll get arrested i don't do eight counts i
25:37learn based on what syllable of the lyric i'm attaching a movement to and i can't really learn any
25:43other way i've tried texas florida should be yeah i didn't know if it should be like
25:49sing it then throw to them or sing florida there you go that's what i thought yeah yeah oh sorry
25:56to get out there and learn the choreography in 30 minutes and remember to hit this spot
26:01hit this mark this dancer's gonna come over and stand next to me for this moment in front of 90 000
26:08people like my brain would explode
26:15it's an absolute challenge not to mention the whole time she's doing this she's singing and doing all
26:20these things at the same time so it's a lot like juggling for three and a half hours learning the
26:26choreography it's not just doing a step for the sake of doing a step it's all very visual and it makes
26:34sense to me narratively it also is interesting to be in a position where like you know this
26:40is a team of experts and there's something about that that keeps me on my game and focused and locked
26:46in it's one of the elements of like where that kind of pressure is a privilege because
26:51they're not messing up so it better not be me um okay so uh i feel good okay is it okay if i yeah
27:02because we're gonna put points in tomorrow so we'll have you look okay perfect perfect we're happy
27:06if you guys i love it i love it i love it i think it's gonna be so special beautiful job guys beautiful
27:11job thanks for the song okay you know yeah you guys rocks my only job um i'm excited about seeing
27:23the show again you know the driver asked me oh is this your first time to the show i was like uh no
27:29no yeah i don't you know my knee is doing better and i don't really want to be in the wheelchair
27:36i needed a little bit but to get you there yeah but i want to dance tell them i'm gonna tell them
27:43because i feel like a hypocrite if i'm sitting in the wheelchair section and i start popping off you
27:47know i think they'll come and take the wheel you're gonna start what popping off and is that the move
27:53something like that sometimes it's a shimmy uh-huh sometimes it's a roll and when does that window
28:00it is i have so many and a lot of times it's you guys's choreography too like
28:06it's this way so that that that i do that push like it off yeah shake it off shake it
28:14i do that move too oh are you ready for it doom doom doom that that's my song i love that one
28:25this experience has been really amazing for me that's okay
28:36i've watched you make so many sacrifices
28:47it's okay
28:51so many for us to be able to do what we're doing
28:55mm-hmm and to um follow those dreams with every part of us yeah and
29:08i am grateful that you're here to see it
29:12yeah because colin and i being able to do what we love to do in such grand spaces
29:20mm-hmm um it's product of how you love us and do so i'm i'm i'm grateful that you're able to
29:33um see pro the the fruits of your labor in this way mm-hmm and i will never not have you
29:43mm-hmm in these spaces with me and in celebrating with me because just as hard as i've worked
29:52i'm very clear and very conscious of how hard you've worked for us to be able to do so
29:58which is why i try my hardest to take so much care of you i know i know i love you
30:08this is gonna be a good show i know you're gonna enjoy it i'm a dance i know
30:12oh yay you're here you made it
30:26i'm mandy oh my gosh what an honor hi hi i saw the show and it was so amazing
30:34this is gonna be amazing this is so big no it is it is and it's also it's like a lot of ground
30:45to cover here so we're gonna show you and then like the choreography is like we do something and
30:50they and it affects them like where we're just like florida but and they're like um i have performed
30:57on big stages but this is not like i thought i just show up and i run around like because that's
31:02what i do at my own shows i just show up and i run like i just run around you're gonna come up
31:07on that back lift but you'll see it and i have never done a lift you haven't oh they're so fun
31:13you're gonna have so much fun when i got there i was like okay now this is your choreo i was like
31:18oh no no wait wait you want me confused i don't do this i'm gonna this up
31:23any one two three you split
31:32i got drunk and i dared to wash me away barricaded in the bathroom with a bottle of wine well me and
31:38my ghost we had a hell every time yes i'm haunted but i'm feeling just fine all my girls got their
31:45links and their crimes and my children love this great great so now this is karen and nad and tamia's
31:58behind you and roth here so you guys are nice and safe this is going to start rising up on so i did
32:03my best okay great and she's going to lay down or she's going to kind of come into if you're okay with
32:08this and she's just going to lay her head here and it'd be great if you wanted to connect to her head
32:13on like something and do my best to late to rest all of the bodies that have ever been on my body
32:17so it kind of makes sense good all of the bodies beautiful been on my body and in my mind
32:25they sink and raise your arm beautiful no sorry on is that is that a bad thing to say okay sorry about
32:32that yeah so sink into the swamp you're still down yes yes sink into the swamp song up
32:40okay i've got it okay good now good so you pack your life away just wait up
32:47shit stone back and chase this florida beautiful it's one hell of a draw back center do it again
32:56florida then i use what a treat we're similar in that the persona is huge but the person is soft
33:06and so i think that's why we get along externally the thing is really big but like when we're
33:13together we're just like silly and goofy seeing the show the most beautiful thing was the crowd
33:21i like it was just like the love and the vibe yeah like i could i was just like this all the pockets of
33:28like girls in their dresses like dancing i was like there's so much joy and like amazing and like
33:35like femininity that's not there's no shame around it it was so yeah natalie and od are standing right
33:42here so you just head to the back two girls and then you're going to have your footprints right there
33:48and you just got to go in the middle and i think turn back front yeah and then we'll take you down
33:52and then dewey will be there to to get you at the end okay yeah oh god this is gonna be so fun can we
34:00yes i would love taylor are you good to run this too from the top with the lifts and everything no
34:04that was all we got can you imagine you're like lorence good luck it's gonna be great i'm sure you'll be
34:09fine good you want to try one all right yeah ready to go down let's go in my first lift and are you
34:20okay if i kind of talk you through and i said go right yes please perfect what
34:44mommy you're saving i've been feeling so alone i keep waiting for
34:50for you but you never come as this in my head i don't know what you think
34:55email to the promise
34:58roll out a race and marry me julie and you never have to be alone
35:04i love you and that's all i really know i talk to your dad go play out a white dress it's a love story
35:14baby baby just said
35:16baby never ever ever ever ever getting back together
35:24yeah
35:26yeah
35:28yeah
35:30oh
35:32oh
35:34oh
35:36oh
35:38oh
35:40oh
35:42oh
35:44oh

37:26I'm feeling just fine
37:28All my girls got their lace and their cries
37:31But she was and disappeared
37:34No one asks any questions here
37:38So I did my best to lay it to rest
37:41All of the bodies that have ever been on my body and in my mind
37:45They sink into the storm
37:49Is that a bad thing to say in a song?
37:53Better did you know your home's really old
37:57In this town you'll get a rest in
38:00So you'll pack your life away
38:02Just to wait after a shitstorm back in Texas
38:06Florida
38:08Is one hell of a drug
38:12Florida
38:15Can't use you
38:18The feeling of coming up for the first time in that lift
38:22It was kind of landing on Mars
38:24Because I'd never seen the stage lit up before
38:26The sound of the crowd
38:28That was really extraordinary
38:30You know it's like
38:32You see this cultural moment from the outside
38:34And I suddenly was like inside of it
38:36It was wild
38:37But it was really fun
38:39And completely terrifying
38:41Also
38:42Taylor's my friend
38:43And I know her as this like very cozy person
38:46And I came out of that lift
38:48I was like oh my god
38:49It's fucking Taylor Swift
38:50It's fucking Taylor Swift
38:51But what we are
38:55What we are
39:04We live standing on
39:05We live standing on
39:06And we'll stand here
39:07I'm from the outside
39:08We live among the outside
39:09We saw my boy
39:10From the outside
39:11And that we both
39:12You're still standing on
39:14Her dominance
39:15And that we all think
39:16Don't hit her
39:18Where did great
39:19So
39:21Come here
39:23You know, I used to kind of be leaving the shows and seeing people walk home and think,
39:44I really hope they got what they've been waiting for.
39:48I hope they got what they've been saving up their money for.
39:57There's a feeling I have of such pride and satisfaction because when I leave the Ares tour,
40:04I never wonder that.
40:10There's just like this magic in the air.
40:13All these particles of shimmer and glitter and confetti and girlhood and friendship
40:20bracelet beads and, you know, magic in the Ares.
40:24It's just like this magic in the Ares.
40:31I love you.
40:38I love you.
