00:00would freddie like to join the cast of snl so found out on the friday tuesday was day one
00:05so no not really much time to process what's actually happening no not much time to process
00:10at all but in a way it's kind of was kind of good i think i think if you have
00:15too long to stew on
00:16these things you can get in your head slightly just had to go in and sort of be like okay
00:21if
00:21you have weeks and weeks of people telling you what it's going to be like and what you have to
00:25do i feel like it could be a bit like oh i'm gonna get this wrong but it was like
00:30there's not enough
00:30time to think not enough time to worry about making any mistakes you're just in and you're doing it
00:35tina fay and kristen wig and bill hader and like all these kind of legendary there's something about
00:40like oh i've got to be as good as they are which is an insane thing to be thinking because
00:47um that's
00:47impossible but there is that kind of expectation of like yeah go on then if you if you can that
00:54would be great so i think there's a low key pressure to try and like make the funniest best
01:00thing ever always and that does usually lead to like some good work and also it can lead to some
01:06not good work because i'm sort of like been thrown into it i was just sort of like taking it
01:12a day at a
01:12time and sort of enjoying it i always loved watching comedy when i saw tim key for the first time
01:19i think
01:19i was 17 or 18 i went to edinburgh for the first time and my brother actually got us these
01:24tickets
01:24to see tim key i think it was the show where he's in the bath i'd never seen anything like
01:30that that
01:30suddenly like ignited something in me it was so like odd and funny and original and i really connected
01:38with it and that felt like a real kind of moment he is still sort of sort of my favorite
01:42comedian and
01:43um it's mad to sort of have gigged with him of course it's live and of course we're doing this
01:48like it's it's so live couldn't be more intellectually you can understand that there's not much time but
01:54like you're doing sketches for maybe like the second or third time live that's something that i was
02:00like oh there's going to be lots of time in the week to really get into these sketches and really
02:04sort of rehearse them and kind of like you know you you are instinctively sort of just like doing them
02:10and then you're doing them live on tv and then that is that is it so i think like getting
02:15my
02:15head around that a little bit was like oh and that's and that's that is it it's kind of it's
02:21kind of electric when you're just like yeah that's the process that's what it works and then looking
02:27back at snl and think like especially the us one and being like wow that was always the case
02:32and understanding the process and seeing those legendary sketches and being like wow they were
02:37genuinely doing that for like the second or third time and it's like stood the test of time i think
02:41that kind of like gives the show its energy but it's funny how many people my friends and stuff are
02:47like is it actually live how long you know have you been rehearsing these sketches for ages sort of
02:52thing i'm just like oh of course it's live and of course we're doing this like it's it's it's so
02:57live couldn't be more you give us your top three impressions top three impressions um
