00:17How was it?
00:18What sets this season apart from the rest?
00:21Well, I mean, you get to see the kids doing more things.
00:24They're growing up, you know.
00:25Zonique's moved out.
00:27She bought her own house.
00:30She's got a boyfriend.
00:31She's living with him.
00:32She's doing her own thing.
00:33Masai's in college.
00:35I'm putting out new music as probably my alter ego, Ryder, you know,
00:40just because I feel like Xscape, I mean, Tiny kind of belongs to Xscape.
00:44Even though it's me anyway, whatever.
00:47It's just something to do.
00:50You're going to see a lot.
00:51You're going to see what Monica has going on in her life.
00:53She's, you know, she's had surgery.
00:56She's got, you know, just relationships.
00:59And you'll see a lot of different, you know, things going on.
01:03And like I said, I always say that it's not drama-filled.
01:05But at the same time, it's a lot of things to show you different drama.
01:10But it's not like, it's not catty.
01:13It's just what we go through in life.
01:15Yeah.
01:16And that's the perfect way to describe it because in the trailer, it's so family-oriented.
01:19It's so fun.
01:20It's actually you're going through the motions of life.
01:23And there is no cattiness in the trailer.
01:25There's no cattiness.
01:26There's no bitterness.
01:27We all love each other.
01:28We ain't fighting about nothing, you know.
01:30If we're fighting, there's something within our own family, you know.
01:34And you talk about your new music.
01:37Have you recorded any?
01:39What can you tease?
01:40Because you have this altered ego.
01:41It's a whole different side of you we're really seeing.
01:44Yes.
01:44Well, Ryder is usually for the bedroom, but I've started to bring her out a little more
01:49as far as in my music because my music talks about my relationship and just my life and
01:55things I go through, things other people go through, you know.
01:58It's about things that you can relate to.
02:01It's the only thing I want to write about.
02:02It's the only thing I want to talk and sing about.
02:05And so I've recorded like three songs right now.
02:09Four songs, actually.
02:10Four songs because I did record with Tricky also.
02:12So, you know, I'm working, you know.
02:15I'm going to drop something really soon.
02:18Oh, okay, okay.
02:19We're excited for that.
02:20So I need to pay you for care?
02:22And you said that your new music is about relationship, everything.
02:28How is everything with TI?
02:29Are you guys back under the same roof, right?
02:32Yes, we are under the same roof.
02:35We are now living in my house because his house or the house that we live in together
02:41is being remodeled or whatever.
02:44So, excuse me.
02:46I'm sorry.
02:47Right now, we're just living in the house that I bought and then we'll move back into
02:51the lake house even though I love my house.
02:53I mean, you know, we have our trying times.
02:56We've been together for 18 years.
02:58So you got to find ways to reinvent things, to, you know, make hot, to keep it going, you
03:06know, and just to get through all the turmoil that life brings you, you know, relationships
03:12and everything.
03:13So, I mean, it's a work in progress, you know what I'm saying?
03:16I won't say that it's, you know, perfect, you know, nothing's perfect.
03:22It's better and we love each other.
03:24We've never stopped loving each other, you know, it's that I think the thing that keeps
03:28us coming back to each other is just that we have a love for each other that is like
03:33it's abnormal.
03:35And a lot of people don't understand it and they'd be like, oh, this, this, that, but
03:38no one's ever loved me like this man.
03:41Like he basically, you know, he's my protector.
03:45He's my provider.
03:46He's, you know, he's like, I just call him like the man of my dreams.
03:50You can tell it's very, it's very real and it's evident you could see it, especially
03:55in the trailer.
03:55So we can't wait to see everything else.
03:58And the kids, how are the kids?
04:00Cause we're seeing King.
04:02He just dropped some music.
04:03He's getting into it.
04:04And I believe I heard you say that he's like your wild child.
04:08Yes, he is.
04:10Yes.
04:10He's my wild child, my wild card, whatever he is that he basically, he likes to, he likes
04:18to challenge everything and everyone, and especially his parents, because he wants to go in his
04:25own lane.
04:26He wants to, um, you know, he wants to do his own thing, you know, and I, um, me and his
04:32dad, we try to guide him and, you know, a lot of things he listens and he still goes
04:37back and forth.
04:37He's combative.
04:38He likes to go back and forth, but, um, he feels like, you know, we haven't been in the
04:44lane that he's in or the era he's trying to go in or whatever.
04:48And I get it, you know, and I think that he, he basically, even though me and his dad
04:54was like, look, you need to put in more work, you know, before you try to drop something
04:57because we, it took us, you know, in our career, like, you know, you record, you record,
05:03you keep recording until you finally feel like I got a great body of work.
05:06Well, my son's been in the studio all of five, six months and he's like, yeah, this
05:11is it.
05:11You know what I'm saying?
05:12And I'm, I'm the man, you know?
05:13And so we're like, wait a minute, you good, but you need, you got, you got to get better.
05:17You got to keep going, you know?
05:19And he came up with this song drip and, you know, he's like, look, I want to put this
05:25song out.
05:25Everybody loves it.
05:26I play it.
05:27I put a little snippet on for my friends or my fans or whatever.
05:30And so I was just like, look, you know what?
05:33If it fails, then cool.
05:34You know, I told you, you know, you need to put more work in, but if it goes, I'm just
05:39going to, I'm going to let you have the opportunity to say you made your own decision.
05:43So what I'm doing is I'm backing him, you know, whatever.
05:46And he's out there and I, you know, oddly enough, the song is really catchy.
05:51People are loving it.
05:53He's on tour with this group called Members Only, which is XXX group.
05:57And he's loving it.
05:59And he thinks he's like, I don't know.
06:02He thinks he's TI already.
06:04I don't know what's going on, but at the like, okay, simmer down.
06:08We have not sold one record yet.
06:10Okay.
06:11Calm down.
06:12Well, he definitely has serious role models that know the business in and out.
06:17And you guys, speaking of that, you and Tip have been in the business forever and you're
06:21still driving.
06:22Is there anything that we can expect from Escape at all?
06:25We have Ryder, but what about the group, you know?
06:28Oh, I mean, you know, I'm always open to anything Escape, you know, that's my first love.
06:34Those are my girls.
06:36And, you know, we support each other with everything that we do outside of Escape.
06:41And, you know, when everybody's ready, you know, we do have a biopic coming up.
06:47It's supposed to be at the end of the year sometime.
06:49So, you know, we plan on making some more songs, maybe for the biopic and, you know, just doing
06:57more tours.
06:58We do plan on doing a part two of the Great Escape tour.
07:01So, you know, it was a lot of cities that we didn't get to hit.
07:06And the tour was short-lived, but it was a successful show tour.
07:11I mean, every night was sold out.
07:13It was amazing.
07:14It was very, you know, great to see people come out and support us from the age of 7 to
07:1970.
07:20You know, the wide range and the age group was just amazing to see.
07:25So, we're ready to do that again.
07:26And, you know, whenever everybody comes ready to come together, we're going to do it.
07:31Absolutely.
07:32I followed that tour.
07:33I watched the four-part special.
07:35Yes.
07:35You guys put in work.
07:36You were right about the age ranges.
07:38It was incredible.
07:39And the outfits you guys wore, amazing.
07:42And speaking of tour, you brought little Eris.
07:45Yes.
07:45Queen of the house.
07:46Yes, she is.
07:47My sunshine.
07:48Did she just melt everyone's heart and just roll tips life?
07:52She is.
07:52She's like, everybody loves Eris.
07:54Like, you know, like, really, like, you know, the show Everybody Loves Chris, like, she
07:58should have her own show.
07:59Like, everybody loves Eris, because that's the real deal.
08:02Like, she just, she's a people's person.
08:04I think she gets that from me.
08:06And she's very loving and sweet at the same time.
08:09She's feisty, you know.
08:11So, she, and she's smart.
08:13Like, that child will say anything.
08:16Like, she can really hold a real conversation with you.
08:19You know, she's been doing that since she was, like, just turned two.
08:22So, I'm, well, speaking of that, being smart, holding conversations, I watched a video where
08:27you guys gave a shout out to JoJo Siwa.
08:30Yes.
08:31And I couldn't get over how well she was communicating and everything.
08:34She was like, I love you, JoJo.
08:36Is she, like, such a big fan?
08:37Yes.
08:37She loves JoJo.
08:39And I was just like, okay, I gotta get JoJo for her, because she wanted JoJo to come
08:43to her party.
08:44So, I, you know, we made the calls, and JoJo was graceful enough to say yes.
08:49You know, I'm going on tour, but I would love to meet her, and, you know, maybe she, so
08:55she let her come to her house for her actual birthday, because her birthday fell on a Tuesday.
09:01So, I'm like, look, her party's, like, the week after.
09:04So, I was like, look, we'll take you to JoJo's.
09:06She didn't know.
09:06It was a surprise.
09:07So, I was like, the mom of the year.
09:09I think I'm still the mom of the year, because she's, she was freaking out.
09:14She was starstruck.
09:15She didn't know what to say to JoJo.
09:17Each time, she just, like, stand there and look at her, and, you know, she would talk back
09:21to her, but she's just not gonna, not like she do when she's at home with us.
09:25JoJo this, JoJo that.
09:27None of that.
09:28I love it.
09:29I would have been starstruck, too, because I saw that video.
09:32She was.
09:33Yes.
09:34I love it.
09:34And, shifting gears a little bit, you walked in.
09:37You look amazing.
09:39Oh, thank you.
09:40Your body, your hair, head to toe, your outfit, everything.
09:44Are you doing anything between gearing up for new music?
09:47Are you in the gym?
09:48What are you, what are you up to these days?
09:50I mean, I went to the gym one time, and I, I mean, I'm gonna say, I'm, I'm planning,
09:56I eat good, though.
09:57I eat much better.
09:58I'm a pescatarian, so I've been a pescatarian for, like, a year and a half now.
10:03But, however, I just started really eating, I can't really honestly say I'm a pescatarian
10:08because I just started eating meat a little bit, a dib and dab.
10:12I feel like a little bit of, you know, anything in moderation is okay.
10:17But I, just getting a little bored, but I, I showed myself that I could do it, so I know
10:22that if I really wanted to do it again, I could do it.
10:24But, um, I eat, I try to eat pretty good, and I do plan on working out.
10:30I just hadn't, it's, it's hard with a child.
10:35It's hard with a baby.
10:36You have so many little babies running around, too, even though they're all grown up.
10:40Yes.
10:40See, the other ones go to school, but she's with me pretty much through the day, all day.
10:45You know, she doesn't go to school.
10:46So, you know, if she's not at my mom's house, she's with me, and it's just kind of hard.
10:51And people, my daughter's like, bring her to the gym.
10:54And I'm like, I don't know about that.
10:57Bring her to the gym?
10:58Well, you were boxing for a while, we saw.
11:00Yeah, I was.
11:01And I do want to get back into boxing and working out.
11:04I just, I want to.
11:05And I plan on it.
11:06Because I want to be summertime fine.
11:09Don't we all?
11:10Yes.
11:11Well, you already look summertime fine.
11:12Well, thank you.
11:13And lastly, on a more somber note, Nipsey Hussle, his recent passing, you and Tip were both vocal about it online.
11:22You put out nice messages.
11:23Sure.
11:24What would be, how hard was this for you guys, especially being in the music industry?
11:30I think it was hard, you know, hard for the culture, hard for everybody that knew him personally, you know,
11:36just because he was such a great person and he did a lot for his community, you know.
11:41And it's just hard to see, you know, him being taken away from something so senseless and somebody so meaningless and just, you know, it was just crazy.
11:49But, and more so his family and kids, it's just a big, it was a big thing.
11:55It's a big deal.
11:56And what we do love about the music.
11:57Very big loss.
11:58What was he doing?
11:59Yeah, I said a very big loss.
12:01Right.
12:02And everybody happened to come together, though, and attend his funeral yesterday, so it was good to see.
12:07And it was amazing to see the turnout.
12:09It was packed.
12:10You were present?
12:11I was present.
12:12It was packed from the rim all the way up.
12:15And, I mean, you know, everybody came out to support him, show love.
12:19And it was, it just seemed really genuine.
12:22And I missed the, you know, the ride around the victory lap.
12:27I missed that.
12:28I had to come, get on the plane to come here for you guys.
12:32But, yes, it was just amazing.
12:34I was glad I was able to be there and support and just show my love and condolences.
12:39Absolutely.
