00:00Hi, Lydon. Hi, Jessica. Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me.
00:05Hi, Avery.
00:06Hello. I'm very excited to talk about season two, specifically Bambi and Shelly.
00:12Obviously, things shifted a little bit between them towards the end of last season.
00:18What does their relationship look like in season two?
00:22Yes, I think, well, at the end of season one, we were getting to be really good friends.
00:29And then that led to some other fun stuff where we became more than friends.
00:37And I think it really scared Shelly, ultimately.
00:41And I think she retreated into herself and shut it down.
00:45And so she's recommitting to her husband at the end of season one.
00:48So season two, she is trying as hard as she can to not see Bambi.
00:53She's not going to the office.
00:54She's, you know, trying to double down on her life with her husband and her kids and Bambi seeks her out.
01:01So we kind of like, it's like a will they or won't they in a lot of ways.
01:06And their relationship really has a beautiful arc in the season, I think, where we ultimately come to like an understanding.
01:14Of course, it's also funny.
01:15Yes, I'm giving her space because I know that she wants it, but I would much prefer to be with my sweet Shelly.
01:25Yeah, of course, of course.
01:27And I loved Shelly's exploration of her sexuality, you know, over the course of that season.
01:32You know, it's an evolving thing.
01:34Is that sort of going to continue in season two, sort of her navigating that a little bit?
01:38For sure, in an even arcier way, like it definitely, Shelly, when Ellen pitched me this season, yeah, it, I mean, not pitched me because she was going to write it for sure.
01:52It wasn't like I had to sign off on it.
01:54This is what was happening.
01:55But Shelly, yeah, she goes on quite a journey.
01:58And a lot of it is about sex, sexual, sexual exploration and ultimately results in her making a pretty big decision, which you'll see.
02:10Okay.
02:10And we are entering a sort of new era for minks, you know, and I know that Elizabeth Perkins is coming in as Constance, you know, for you.
02:19She's iconic.
02:20Amazing.
02:21She's the best.
02:22Yeah.
02:23Jessica, where does Bambi sort of find herself in this sort of new chapter?
02:26I think Bambi is very lost.
02:31She has no idea what her purpose is.
02:33She lost her love.
02:34I think she's trying to find her place and see what kind of role she can step into at bottom dollar.
02:41She tries to be a businesswoman, fails.
02:45And then she tries to find some sort of like familial connection, I think.
02:49And that's what she's seeking at the end of the season.
02:52Okay.
02:53And then, you know, stars saved, you know, season two, which I was so thrilled about, you know, how does it feel in this day and age?
03:01It's so hard for shows, you know, how does it feel to sort of have fans rally around you guys?
03:06It was an amazing thing to watch.
03:09Yeah, it feels incredible.
03:10I mean, yeah, I've been on shows where there's been fan support in the past and rallying.
03:19And it's always it's always meaningful.
03:21I mean, we go to work every day and we do the work and that is it for us, you know.
03:26But once once the show goes out of out the window, it's like it takes on a new life.
03:31And it's so meaningful that that our work is resonating with people, making them laugh.
03:37I mean, it's such a fun escape, I think.
03:40And season two, it takes it to a whole new level.
03:43So you will definitely be having fun this season.
03:47Yeah.
03:48Amazing.
03:49Well, I cannot wait to watch it unfold.
03:50Love you guys.
03:52And thanks so much for taking the time to chat.
