00:00Hi guys, I'm David Ajala and I play Captain Roy Eris.
00:15And I'm Owen Mack and I play Carl DeBrandon and we are coming to you from the Night Flyers show.
00:19The Night Flyers show?
00:21No, it's fine.
00:23Well, I'll talk about David's character.
00:25So David plays Roy Eris, owner, in a very secret way, of this giant spaceship enterprise
00:33who colonised various moons and other kind of planets.
00:36Our four colonies.
00:37Yeah, four colonies.
00:38And he is the only one who's got the capability of going, of taking a ship further into space
00:45than it's ever been done before.
00:47And he meets, he gets in contact with Carl DeBrandon.
00:50Carl DeBrandon is played by Mr. Owen Macken, who is a world-renowned scientist, very successful,
00:57has written many books.
00:59Now he has an idea, a theory to make contact with alien life in outer space.
01:06He shares these ideas with the powers that be and they're not really convinced by his idea.
01:13And then Captain Roy Eris throws Carl DeBrandon a lifeline.
01:16He says, hey, you have this amazing idea to make contact with alien life.
01:20And hopefully we'll save the Earth because the Earth is dying.
01:24And I have a ship.
01:25I'm just so happy to have a ship.
01:27So how about you join my team and join the ship?
01:32Even though we're on a massive spaceship, the moment you're in outer space, what's that?
01:36It's this claustrophobic.
01:38It's this claustrophobic.
01:39It's very intimate.
01:40You're literally breathing each other's air.
01:43But I think it adds to the intensity of the drama and the thrill.
01:48Yeah, there's a suffocating nature to it, I guess, because also when they're this far in space
01:52and stuff starts to happen and they can't control it.
01:55When everything starts to kind of fracture in this friction, there is a massive suffocating intensity to that
02:01because the ship is huge but it's also only so big.
02:04So it does kind of increase all the fervor of the whole thing.
02:07And it does create a lot of very, very interesting relationships that kind of develop in a way that you wouldn't expect
02:14but also puts an awful lot of pressure on anything the further and deeper you go into space.
02:17And that's on top of everything else that's happening that we can't tell you from the plot
02:21because the plot is bizarre and mental.
02:23I mean, there are definitely some things from the original source material that will play out in the episodes.
02:30But a lot of stuff has been invented hopefully to elevate the novella.
02:35Jeff Beulah, our showrunner, I think he's done a really, really good job in terms of just amping up the horror, the thrill and the mystery.
02:45In the same vein as Game of Thrones, there will be a lot of plot twists, surprises and executions.
02:51Literally, you don't know what's going to happen.
02:53So when you do get your new episodes, you're just flicking through the pages to make sure your character is still alive.
02:58I think that's actually very important, especially in a science fiction show that has these kind of horror elements to it
03:02that you don't kind of know what's going to happen because it kind of keeps you on your toes.
03:05I think it's the same for the actors as it is for anybody watching the show.
03:09Hi, I'm Owen Mack and I play Carl DeBrandon on Night Flyers and this is...
