00:00For Ferrari, a dramatic end to the season, the likes of which have few been seen in the history of Formula 1, in the history of Maranello.
00:17Many difficulties, a huge technical debt that has accumulated especially in this season, two different projects that had to coexist inside the SF25, but that failed to find the right balance.
00:30The attempt in mid-season to insert the new corrective rear suspension precisely in the geometry of the triangle to optimize the support of the tire and above all improved traction, but on the other hand also trying to compensate for the twisting of the gearbox.
00:51A wrong project, a structural error in the single seater that could only be remedied in July with the new gearbox.
01:00To date, one race remains.
01:05Expectations are practically zero because, in any case, the Yas Marina circuit is a track that puts a lot of strain on the entire rear axle of the single seater, so it requires a suspension that in the slow S-class can put down a lot of traction when there is little aerodynamic load and, therefore, works very well in contact with the ground with low vertical pressure, but above all, then we have the first and third sectors which are extremely fast.
01:27And, at that point, you need a Qatar-style car, therefore very well balanced on the two axles in terms of aerodynamic load, ground effect in the central part, so all characteristics that, unfortunately, are lacking on Ferrari, they are not there and, with the setup errors by the track engineers, unfortunately they are strongly negative elements that are sacrificing the performance of the two drivers, Leclerc and Hamilton.
01:55Negative picture, but unfortunately, or perhaps finally, in the end for this season of the SF25 we focus on the Williams, which has had a technical growth also thanks to Sainz, who is a very important great developer.
02:12A Williams that has collected two podiums, with the one in Qatar in the last Grand Prix, and that has nevertheless shown itself to be a good place that is growing in terms of setup, managing to be manageable in its small phase of improvement, despite the fact that the developments have been lacking since September, precisely to try to optimize the setup of the single seater.
02:35A technical report that tries to frame with one race to go the potential and probable performance of the Williams FV47 of Sainz and Albin on a technical, selective and very particular circuit like that of Abu Dhabi.
02:52I would never have said I would be fighting with McLaren.
03:02Sure, they got the strategy wrong, but with some changes to the setup our pace has improved a lot and we have been able to push further forward.
03:10With the last race in Abu Dhabi just around the corner, Williams is aware that the characteristics of Yas Marina could once again meet the strengths of the FV47 which has designed superior aerodynamics that interact very well with the floor to enhance the ground effect.
03:28The channels above the side pods activate a vacuum field that accelerates the flows, channels them onto the diffuser and increases air extraction.
03:40From the underbody, the excellent efficiency of the car body allows for an increase in the airflow under the car.
03:47The flow is richer and the greater energy generates an extremely powerful vacuum field.
03:53The design of the Venturi channels concentrates the ground effect on the rear axle, causing the thrust to converge on the drive wheels in favor of traction.
04:06It is the vortices generated by the deflectors that prevent air from infiltrating the underbody, increasing the vacuum of the underbody and its stabilizing action during cornering and acceleration.
04:19Features that improve the stability of the Williams, especially on the fast corners that are present in Abu Dhabi in the first and third intermediate turns.
04:28Interpreting this single seater was difficult.
04:31It is a very particular car concept whose strong point is the optimal integration of the engine into the aerodynamic design.
04:38In fact, the channel created in the center of the side pods activates a downwash effect downstream of the wing that increases the vacuum, accelerates the flows and maximizes the downforce produced by the wing.
04:53The separation of the air directed inside the bodywork for cooling ensures perfect internal fluid dynamics.
05:01The air maintains a high thrust that, passing through the radiators, removes heat which, thanks to the depression at the rear of the single seater, is sucked in and carried out by the side pods.
05:13A highly efficient solution that allows for smaller front air intakes to be created, benefiting from reduced drag.
05:23The water oil radiator panels and the intercooler are superimposed in order to compact the overall dimensions without sacrificing cooling.
05:33The side pod design of the FV47 represents an excellent compromise between thermal management of the mechanics, aerodynamic efficiency and clean flows on the wing.
05:45This factor defines a high availability of load in the wide radius curves that at Yas Marina can make the difference on the stopwatch in the first and last part of the circuit.
05:55Teraforte is the arrival point of the simulators.
06:10The driver can realistically experience all the driving sensations of a real Formula One car.
06:1615 years of know-how in the world of racing.
06:20The technical support of the teams and the advice of the drivers make this cockpit identical to that of a single seater in terms of spaces, measurements and steering wheel adjustments.
06:31But that's not all.
06:33The research work focused on achieving the same driving sensations as a Formula One car.
06:41Working on the rigidity of the system and the responsiveness of the actuators, the same design path was followed by Formula One engineers when designing a new single seater.
06:53From the track to the simulator without filters with hard ground to experience the same pleasure and driving sensations as Formula Number.
07:02You are there.
07:03You are leaving.
07:04You are leaving, you are leaving.
07:05You are leaving in a car.
07:06You are leaving.
07:07You are leaving.
07:08I am leaving.
07:11It's been one of the first few minutes of the vehicle that you will make this possible.
07:15Your family is leaving.
07:19The two-yearixoom.
07:21And if you are leaving, is the one of the right things that you will always warten.
