00:00I want you to hear this now, okay?
00:02And this was actually yesterday that this happened.
00:05But Joe Burrow's just having his regular weekly press gathering.
00:09I don't know if anybody thought this was coming.
00:12But here's a full back and forth,
00:15and the subject is basically whether or not Joe's having any fun.
00:20You know, if I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it.
00:25You know, I've been through a lot, and if it's not fun, then what am I doing it for?
00:28So that's the mindset I'm trying to bring to the table.
00:31How much fun are you having right now?
00:33Is it difficult to have fun, given the season,
00:36what you've been through physically, emotionally, all of it?
00:39Is it tough?
00:40Yes, certainly.
00:40Did you have fun playing?
00:42I mean, how much of it was fun before?
00:44Everything's always fun, but in general, was it as fun before?
00:47Did you view it that way, at least?
00:50No, I wouldn't say I viewed it that way, I think.
00:54What was the changing point?
00:56Changing point.
00:56I'm not sure there was a singular moment of time.
01:01It's just a reflection on a lot of things that I've done and been through in my career, I think.
01:07I've been through more than most, and it's certainly not easy on the brain or the body,
01:12so I'm just trying to have fun doing it again.
01:14You seem like there's something on your mind, or maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems frustrating.
01:20There's just a lot of things going on right now.
01:23A lot of things going on right now.
01:24Football-related, personally.
01:26All of the above.
01:27Yeah.
01:30Hey.
01:32It's another one of those days where I'm like, I have a question, Joe.
01:37Can I be there, please?
01:38For just $275 million, you too could be miserable throwing a piece of leather to other grown men.
01:46Well, okay, okay.
01:48That's very Dan Dibley of you.
01:51Super, super cynical.
01:52How sad was that?
01:54It was really sad.
01:55I know that it's not popular.
01:59We love to tell the multi, multi, multi-millionaires, hey, button up, buttercup, your life's perfect.
02:06Get on out there.
02:07For just a million and a half a game, you too can take a snap and throw an interception.
02:12Yeah, football hurts like hell.
02:14No doubt.
02:14Football hurts like hell.
02:18Football, it hurts like hell.
02:21If you could please contribute to Joe Burrow's fund.
02:24He's really sad right now.
02:26For just what dollar?
02:28He's got $46 million as a cap hit this year to actually not play very often because he had a hurt toe.
02:35For just $275 million, you too can go out there and throw 47 touchdowns and still lose.
02:43And throw three picks and still lose.
02:47And have a team that has no expectations because your franchise is a joke.
02:50For just $275 million, you can help Joe Burrow gut it out and play football.
02:58Call now.
03:001-888-J-O-E-B-U-R-O.
03:05It's the Joe Burrow hotline.
03:07He needs to.
03:09For just one dollar.
03:12Call his message phone.
03:14Call his message phone right now.
03:16Cynical, mean-spirited.
03:19I get it.
03:20For sure.
03:21I don't know what's going on here.
03:25So, when you hear that, is your first thought...
03:29What is going on here?
03:30Thank you, Vince.
03:31Hey, we could get Joe Burrow.
03:34Right?
03:34The morning show did a lot of this.
03:36That's where their minds went.
03:37We could get Joe Burrow.
03:40Call the Bengals, because he's going to ask out,
03:42and offer them Brock Purdy and two picks.
03:46And you can have Joe Burrow.
03:48I mean, it's the golf-Stafford deal.
03:50So, you're giving up Purdy and picks?
03:52Of course you would.
03:53Of course you would.
03:55Yeah.
03:55It's the golf-Stafford deal.
03:57I'm out.
03:58You're out?
03:59You got Stafford, who actually wanted to play football.
04:03Won a Super Bowl.
04:04Right.
04:04And he wanted to play football.
04:05See, I don't know that...
04:06I don't...
04:07I'm with you.
04:08That was my first question is,
04:10does this intrigue you, or does it scare you?
04:13It scares me.
04:14And I think that's fair,
04:15but I'm frustrated because I'm like,
04:18I don't know if that's what he was saying,
04:20and no one asked,
04:22is it personal or is it football?
04:24Well, sure.
04:24Yeah.
04:25Is this hard because you guys are losing?
04:27Yes.
04:27Stop asking those yes or no questions.
04:29If you want to ask a yes or no question,
04:32which an interviewer is not really supposed to do,
04:34try this one.
04:34Do you want to play football?
04:36Yeah.
04:36Are you questioning your future?
04:39Do you want to be a Bengal next year?
04:42Those were the questions.
04:44Possibly.
04:45But I'm not coming down their road
04:47because they sounded completely caught off guard,
04:51as I would have been.
04:53Right.
04:53I think they were there for like,
04:54you guys are playing the Ravens this week.
04:56What do you think of Lamar?
04:58How's the show, Joe?
04:59You feel like you're close to 100%?
05:01Joe sits down and goes,
05:02yeah, everything's awful.
05:05And I'm not having any fun.
05:07I'm not having any fun.
05:10Wow.
05:11And you all and we are correct in thinking this could change the whole league
05:19if it goes a certain way.
05:21But I don't know if that's the way it's going to go.
05:23Nobody knows the way it's going to go.
05:24But I look at his career and rookie season,
05:28torn ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus in his left knee.
05:32So, yeah, left knee, kaboom.
05:35That whole thing blew up.
05:36And then you had a pinky issue.
05:39You had a calf strain.
05:40You got turf toe.
05:40I'm not saying he's injury prone because I think that all football players are,
05:45as you've said so many times.
05:46But you're looking at six years in and he's had major time missed based on injury.
05:53And now you hear this where he's not having any fun.
05:56So, I'm going to, for the moment, guesswork is needed here because no one asked,
06:03do you want to play football and do you want to be a Bengal?
06:05So, I'm going to take a guess here that Joe, in the wake of another missed playoff
06:14and this time injury riddled painful season again,
06:18I'm going to guess that what Joe is saying is, my team has failed me.
06:24And he's right.
06:25But, he's right, by the way.
06:27So, I'm going to, for the moment, I'm going to put Joe Burrow on the list.
06:32And there's always a short list in sports.
06:35Giannis is on it right now.
06:37I'm going to put Joe Burrow on that list, which is the list of,
06:42I'm really good, I'm in my prime, and what you're doing around me isn't working.
06:50It isn't working.
06:51And in football's case, when you do that to a player, it hurts.
06:56It hurts really bad.
06:59And I don't mean emotionally.
07:00I mean physically.
07:02Joe Burrow is getting pummeled behind a horrible offensive line.
07:07Joe Burrow's defense has been non-existent.
07:09And they have disenfranchised their best player on that side of the ball as well.
07:14And he's going to be gone at the end of the year.
07:16He only sees this getting worse.
07:18But, ooh, they've got fancy receivers who are super fun for all of us
07:22who have them in our fantasy league.
07:25Well, then put your name on it.
07:26I would want out to.
07:27Then say it.
07:28Yeah.
07:28No one asked.
07:29So he doesn't have to.
07:31Well, I mean, he does now.
07:32He doesn't have to now.
07:33But when you go out there and you have that press conference,
07:36it leads everyone to wonder about what it is.
07:39Stand on it.
07:40Well, but again, no one asked.
07:42We're sponsored by the California Office of Traffic Safety and Caltrans.
07:45How about some of your calls?
07:47Are you intrigued by that?
07:48Or are you scared by that?
07:50If you're one of the other NFL teams.
