Scheim is admitting he's WRONG. "Boston Bruins are much better than I expected them to be". Pasta is back! Bruins have won 3 in a row- Swayman has been amazing. How much credit should GM Don Sweeney get for Morgan Geekie? 50 goals?!

00:00Back-to-back days here.
00:01I would like to admit that I was a little bit wrong on something.
00:05The Boston Bruins are much better than I expected them to be.
00:08I didn't give them a ton of credit before the season.
00:10I very much believed they would suck, and they have not sucked.
00:14They've actually been pretty good.
00:16They're tied for the division lead in points right now with the Lightning.
00:21Yeah, they've played, I think, an extra game.
00:23But even still, still being at the 36-point mark alongside the Lightning
00:27is a good spot to be in.
00:28They've been excellent at home, which I think is the big difference.
00:31They're 11-5 at home where they're 7-8 on the road.
00:35So it's great that they're playing well at the Garden.
00:38Jeremy Swayman has played phenomenally since the 1st of November.
00:42He is 10-3, so he has been playing very, very well.
00:47Credit to him.
00:48I think that's a big reason why they're having so much success
00:51is he's been great as their backstop,
00:53and then they've been able to score some goals by mixing things up,
00:56and that's a good job by Sturm.
00:57I didn't think they'd be able to get this kind of goal production.
01:00I didn't expect Morgan Geeky to be fighting with Nathan McKinnon
01:03for the league-leading goals.
01:05But credit to them.
01:07This has been a lot of fun to start the season.
01:09I hope it continues.
01:11I'm not convinced it will just yet, but I hope it does.
01:14At some point, you're probably going to have to give the Sweeneyes
01:19some credit on the Morgan Geeky trade.
01:21Oh, and the contract, the contract extension,
01:24that's an absolute steal if this is what Morgan Geeky is now.
01:27Yeah, he got him for nothing.
01:28Yeah.
01:29And I think in Seattle he had, I don't know, he had nine goals or whatever.
01:33I mean, he should get 40, and he may be on a pace to maybe get 50.
01:40Back-to-back 30-goal seasons, the contract is where you give Sweeney credit.
01:46But I give him both, both the trade and the contract.
01:49Yeah, because when you traded for him, you gave him a contract
01:51that was like two years, four million.
01:53It was kind of like a prove-it deal, and then he continued to get better.
01:57They gave him this big contract, and now he is making massive,
02:00massive strides forward in a direction I didn't think he ever would.
02:03So 100%, Sweeney deserves credit for that.
02:05Oh, and last night, I mean, it includes David Pasternak,
02:09but bottom six, you're getting a lot of production
02:12from all the lines on that hockey team, Sean.
02:16Yeah, and I think that's the important thing, right?
02:18It's not just like that one perfection line.
02:21You're getting production from all different spots across the lineup,
02:25and that's kind of what is going to continue their success
02:27as long as Swayman is playing well.
02:29Yeah, and I would also add that look at who they played last night.
02:32They played Monty in the Blues, and given what Cassidy did
02:36in the immediate aftermath of his departure from the Bruins,
02:39it took some serious balls to say,
02:42we're not going to keep you, Monty.
02:44We're going to fire you knowing you're going to get a job immediately
02:47and what that would have reflected on Sweeney
02:49if Monty went to St. Louis and did something similar
02:52to what Cassidy did with Vegas.
02:53I think Marco Sturm is doing a pretty good job.
02:57I think he's getting by.
