Rodwells auctioneer Scott Campbell said it was a strong market full of quality.
Transcript
00:00It was very strong with locals and there was a few buyers from away. It's always a really good
00:03female sailor find down here. A few feature lines, the big heifers up the front, they sold
00:07extremely well. Mick Curtis I think was on them, 35 and maybe even 36.50. They were a feature,
00:13they always are. But it stayed really strong even when you got back onto probably your second
00:19runner heifers. They were still at the 24s and 5s. It was a very strong market but full of quality.
00:23It always is a female sailor and a steer sail down here. The Park Lee females, the dispersal,
00:28outstanding quality and a lot of strength from Ballarat. 41.50 I think, maybe even 41.75
00:36they topped out at and there was two or three really good goers on them and they had a tremendous
00:41sale. The feeder heifers were strong. Feedlotters buying mostly, commission buyers mostly, a few
00:51locals buying a few to put back in the paddock and join. And then even the young females I
00:55thought was really strong on what I've seen around a lot of heifers, you know, sort of
00:594.30s and 50s and there was a couple of pens that even hit $5. So it was a tremendous yarding
01:04as it always is and it stayed really strong right through. We look forward to January up
01:09at Barnawatha. There's a tremendous run of cattle up there. They're talking 6,500 there
01:14for the first black sale and then someone said there's even 7,000 there today. So, you know,
01:19you'd like to think it's going to carry on through. There's a lot of sales down south
01:22as well. So, you know, I hope so. You know, the market's been, the fat market's been good
01:27and if they can keep getting a bit of rain up north in a few places, you'd like to think
01:30it's going to carry through.
