00:00G'day Dakota Tate from the land here. It's a sad day at Drildery Sale Yards for what will be the
00:04final John Wells Memorial Sale and plenty of long-time buyers thinking back on fond memories.
00:10We came here in 1960 and that's 66 years ago and we were selling here within a couple of years
00:20and the amazing thing about all that is the sale date of this sale was the same day then,
00:26the first Friday in October and it's been that way ever since.
00:29I've seen some massive sales here. These yards only exist because they were full ones
00:36and they had 50 or 60 thousand sheep but that's going back a fair way nowadays.
00:41The first lot I bought out here was probably about 50 years ago and they were off Glen Ewan Station.
00:46There's always good sheep come out of Drildery and looking at it today it looks just the same
00:51as what I remember it as in top line of sheep. The vendors have done a terrific job with the
00:57sheep. Obviously the season's gone with us as well. Approximately about nine and a half thousand
01:02head in total being consisting of approximately seven thousand young 25 drop ewes and the balance
01:08made up of 23 and 21 drop ewes. We sold 181 one-year-olds and 294 or 291 five-year
01:18-olds. Prices
01:19were very pleasing today. I think everyone's very happy.
01:22I think everyone's very happy.
01:23Thank you very much.
