A 28-year-old woman from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, Pinky Sharma, has sparked nationwide discussion after she “married” Lord Shri Krishna in Vrindavan following traditional Hindu customs. The symbolic ceremony, conducted by temple priests amid Vedic chants, has generated widespread curiosity and debate.
According to Pinky, she has been a staunch devotee of Lord Krishna since childhood and had pledged to dedicate her life to him. During the ceremony in Vrindavan, she wore a red saree, took the seven pheras, and even donned a mangalsutra, mirroring a traditional Hindu wedding.
Her father, Suresh Chand, stated that Pinky believed she received a divine sign when a ring fell into her hands along with prasad at the Banke Bihari temple. Interpreting it as Krishna’s acceptance, she asked her family to stop searching for a groom. The family respected her wish and supported the symbolic marriage.
Photos and videos of the ceremony are now going viral on social media. While many consider it an exceptional display of devotion, others view it as an emotional decision. Local residents and devotees remain intrigued by the unusual event, which continues to dominate public conversation.
