A temporary evacuation centre was opened at Dewan Suarah Bintulu at 12.30am on Tuesday (Dec 9), after several areas in Bintulu were hit by floods on Monday night.

The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that the centre was sheltering 56 evacuees from 14 families, from Kampung Kemunting and Roselind Suang Longhouse.

00:31Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, the evacuation center is currently housing 56 evacuees
00:38from 14 families from both locations. Authorities said the situation at the evacuation center is
00:45under control and safe, and they are also continuing to monitor several low-lying areas as the rain persists.
