Authorities have evacuated 118 flood victims from 41 families to four temporary relief centres in Penampang, Sabah, on Friday (Oct 2) morning following heavy overnight rain.

The Penampang District Disaster Management Committee declared the situation a disaster at 10.40pm on Thursday (Oct 1) after receiving reports from agencies on the ground.

00:27The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee said
00:31the water level of Sungai Moyog has reached a critical 9.12 metres,
00:36exceeding the danger level.
00:38The floods have affected 15 villages including Kampung Penampang proper,
00:44Kolopis, Sarapung, Tanaki, Pagansakan, Nambazan, Huba and Kibabaig.
00:50Twelve roads have also been inundated but remain passable
00:54including Jalan Tanaki Bandason, Jalan Vista Kiranao,
00:59Jalan Inobong and Jalan Kolopis Boliga.
